I can't sing enough praises for Captain Justin, Turtle & the Fantastic II! We called looking for something both last minute & special hours to accommodate our afternoon flight back home. Mahi fishing was on my husbands bucket list so we had to make it happen. Not only were they willing to start early, they were over 20% CHEAPER than the other company I found. As soon as we arrived, Capt. Justin & Turtle were prepared for Mahi fishing with live bait, lures & anything else we might need. The boat was clean & comfortable. Turtle explained everything we'd be doing & answered all of our questions as we were heading out. Once the action started, Captain Justin and Turtle worked together like a well oiled machine. Excellent adventure for my family! Capetian Justin and Turtle were excellent. We caught 4 Tuna and 2 AmberJack fish. They filleted them for us and suggested Sharkey's to have them prepared. We just finished our fishing trip on the Fantastic ll charter and it ranks as one of the top 3 fun days of fishing I had in over 40 years. I want to thank Captain Justin and Mate Ben for a great day of fishing, they always had us on fish and providing guidance to help us get the fish on the boat. We caught fish that we hadn't caught before such as barracuda , yellow fin tuna, black fins tuna, all types of groupers and Bluerunners along with a few I don't remember. They cleaned the fish, packed it and labeled it and recommend a local place that will cook it. What an amazing experience! This was my very first time fishing and I was a bit nervous specially since we were going deep sea fishing. These are truly amazing people operating the charter, the captain and I believe his son were such genially good people. Extremely helpful, fun, kept us enthusiastic and they were great once we would catch the fishes. In my case I got a lot of one on one help since it was all new to me. I loved the experience and I ended up catching 5 MahiMahis and a Tuna Fish. At the end of the trip they even filleted the fish for us and we put them in our coolers to take home. This was truly a Fantastic experience and I'm looking forward to my next outing with them. read more

My brother was visiting Miami and wanted to have a fishing experience in the keys. This was the perfect place for a daytrip from Miami - it was a little over an hour drive, and we were able to get here in the morning, fish in the keys, and stop at the everglades all in one day! We arrived in the morning and watched the sunrise from the boat in the morning. Then we went fishing near the coral reef and also deep sea fishing. Captain Hopper and Dallas are fishing masters and were very fun to hang out with. I don't know how to fish at all and they helped me bait my hook and reel fish in. At the end of the day, they helped us clean and pack the fish. What a great day! If you are visiting Miami and would like a fun daytrip, I would recommend the same itinerary: drive down to Key Largo in the morning (no traffic!) and catch the sunrise on the Fantastic II. Then, have fun all morning with Captain Hopper and Dallas fishing! For lunch, take your fresh catch to a local restaurant for them to cook. Then, on the drive back to Miami, go to the Robert is Here fruit stand for some fresh fruit smoothies and check out their animal farm. You will still have time to stop by the Everglades (which is 10 minutes away from the fruit stand), and on the way, there is a place that sells grilled alligator for you to try. After the Everglades (we saw 15 alligators that day just hanging out in the sun), your drive back to Miami will be approximately 40 minutes. You will be back in Miami in time for dinner. Do the sunrise/Fantastic II fishing/Robert is Here/Alligator Grill/Everglades trip! You won't regret it. read more

Just finished a charter trip for Mahi-Mahi on the Fantastic II a week ago and had a fantastic time with Capt. Justin Hopper and 1st Mate Brandon. Let me tell you something now, these guys know the water and know the fish like no one else. Even on a tough day when the other fishing reports were sounding slim we had a great day chasing the dolphin and ended up with plenty of filets to bring home. Between Capt. Justin watching for the fish and Brandon jumping around like Spider-Man keeping the rigs ready and in the water, the fish didn't stand a chance that day. Newcomers and experienced fishermen alike, I highly recommend that you book the Fantastic II anytime of the year day or night, targeting shark to tuna and everything in between, for some serious action packed fishing with some top notch people. A friend of mine was in town & wanted to experience deep sea fishing so after doing some investigating he chose the Fantastic II with Captain Justin Hopper at the helm. He & his crew did not disappoint. It was just my friend & I on the boat & we were able to pull in approximately 16 Blackfin Tuna, 15 Tilefish, and a number of Groupers & Porgies which filled up his 300 quart ice chest. I had a fantastic time with Captain Hopper and his son, Dallas. They were wonderful people who were fun to be with. All we had to do was show up and they had everything ready - the licenses, different types of bait, fishing poles, etc. For my inexperienced sister, they were very patient in teaching her and very attentive at helping her reel in fish and placing bait on the hooks. They have a great boat that is three levels tall with comfortable cushy seats. Importantly, I felt very safe and they were very experienced and knowledgeable about fishing. We went patch fishing and also deep sea fishing and ended up keeping 22 fish (but caught at least three times more, but released them)! Back at the dock, it only took them 10 minutes to clean all the fish and we took our catch home in the form of fillets, ready to eat! You can also take your catch to a local restaurant for them to cook. I highly recommend this wonderful family run fishing charter for a great fishing experience, whether you are more experienced (like me) or a newbie (like my sister). If you are visiting Miami, this is the perfect place to plan a fishing daytrip because it is only about an hour away and still in one of the Keys.
