Great charter trip on the Fantastic II. Captain Justin and Mate Turtle put us in the fish all day long.....

Fantastic Charters are FANTASTIC! Had a 3/4 private charter with my family and my boys first deep sea fishing trip. The crew (Dallas, Tyler) were amazing. Friendly, fun, hard working, and we're great with my kids. While you never know how much the fish are biting, my boy emanates to catch a mahi mahi so badly and the crew never rested til we did. We ended up catching over 50 with 21 keepers. The boat is in excellent shape and I definitely recommend Fantastic Charters.

Excellent adventure for my family! Capetian Justin and Turtle were excellent. We caught 4 Tuna and 2 AmberJack fish. They filleted them for us and suggested Sharkey's to have them prepared. Excellent!! Our 12 year old son loved it. Turtle was excellent in coaching our son and helping him reel in his 40 point Amberjack!!

This place was great. Captain Dallas worked hard and we caught a lot of fish. Highly recommended!

We just finished our fishing trip on the Fantastic ll charter and it ranks as one of the top 3 fun days of fishing I had in over 40 years. I want to thank Captain Justin and Mate Ben for a great day of fishing, they always had us on fish and providing guidance to help us get the fish on the boat. We caught fish that we hadn't caught before such as barracuda , yellow fin tuna, black fins tuna, all types of groupers and Bluerunners along with a few I don't remember. They cleaned the fish, packed it and labeled it and recommend a local place that will cook it. If your coming doe to key largo , I would book with them, they work hard to make your vacation memorable

What an amazing experience! This was my very first time fishing and I was a bit nervous specially since we were going deep sea fishing. These are truly amazing people operating the charter, the captain and I believe his son were such genially good people. Extremely helpful, fun, kept us enthusiastic and they were great once we would catch the fishes. In my case I got a lot of one on one help since it was all new to me. I loved the experience and I ended up catching 5 MahiMahis and a Tuna Fish. At the end of the trip they even filleted the fish for us and we put them in our coolers to take home. This was truly a Fantastic experience and I'm looking forward to my next outing with them.

Our catch in just half a day - 22 fish!

My brother was visiting Miami and wanted to have a fishing experience in the keys. This was the perfect place for a daytrip from Miami - it was a little over an hour drive, and we were able to get here in the morning, fish in the keys, and stop at the everglades all in one day! We arrived in the morning and watched the sunrise from the boat in the morning. Then we went fishing near the coral reef and also deep sea fishing. Captain Hopper and Dallas are fishing masters and were very fun to hang out with. I don't know how to fish at all and they helped me bait my hook and reel fish in. At the end of the day, they helped us clean and pack the fish. What a great day! If you are visiting Miami and would like a fun daytrip, I would recommend the same itinerary: drive down to Key Largo in the morning (no traffic!) and catch the sunrise on the Fantastic II. Then, have fun all morning with Captain Hopper and Dallas fishing! For lunch, take your fresh catch to a local restaurant for them to cook. Then, on the drive back to Miami, go to the Robert is Here fruit stand for some fresh fruit smoothies and check out their animal farm. You will still have time to stop by the Everglades (which is 10 minutes away from the fruit stand), and on the way, there is a place that sells grilled alligator for you to try. After the Everglades (we saw 15 alligators that day just hanging out in the sun), your drive back to Miami will be approximately 40 minutes. You will be back in Miami in time for dinner. Do the sunrise/Fantastic II fishing/Robert is Here/Alligator Grill/Everglades trip! You won't regret it.

My husband and I went out with Mike twice last week…read more I REALLY love snorkeling but hate those crowded party boats, so I was looking for a more personalized way to go. Most charter boats seem to be in the $500+ range for a half day. Mike charges not by the hours but by the number of people, taking 2-6 per trip. So, just two of us for a snorkeling trip was just $160. I consider that a real bargain for having a boat all to ourselves! The first day we were to go snorkeling the conditions were not good for it. The water was too choppy and cloudy. Mike suggested a sunset cruise. We accepted. He will let you take whatever food or drink aboard that you want. We didn't have anything but sure wished we had some wine and cheese for the beautiful evening. The horizon was cloudy and we didn't expect much of a sunset, but Mike kept saying "wait and see". Sure enough, there was one opening in the clouds exactly where the sun was setting. It was gorgeous. We even saw the rare and infamous Green Flash! The two hour trip was $110. We were to try a snorkeling trip again two days later, but weather still was not good. But Mike kept in touch with us and as things improved he let us know when it would be good to go. He easily could have taken us to the site at our first scheduled time and said "oh well, not my fault the water is cloudy and choppy for snorkeling," but he wanted us to have a great experience so waited until the time was right. He is not out to steal your money, he honestly wants you to have the best time possible! Again, sure enough, Mike took us to the reef at exactly the right time! The water was calm and clear and we had one of our best snorkeling experiences ever anywhere in the world. When we got out of the water some squalls were appearing. Mike threaded us through them expertly on our way back in. Mike is extremely in tune with the tides, the weather, the moon. He has sailed all over the world for all his life. He will take you out when YOU want to go. No set schedules. We hope to sail with Mike again someday!

The boats I rented were older, as is true with most rentals throughout the Keys. However, they are very well maintained, and the engines ran exceptionally well and the GPS and marine VHF worked perfectly. The waters around the Islamorada location were absolutely beautiful. I am going to try to rent again before we head back north, and we will definitely be back again next year! Thanks Mike and Bobby for a great experience. Bob H.

My friends and I rented a pontoon boat back in August, and I'll definitely be going back to them whenever I'm in the area. Booking online was super easy, and even though they were crazy busy when we arrived (we're talking full-on running around getting everyone set up!), they were still friendly, helpful, and apologetic about the short wait -- which was only about 15 minutes. They took the time to go over everything with us and gave great directions for getting to Disappearing Island, even providing a map. The boat itself was spacious, clean, and easy to handle. The docks were wide and simple to pull in and out of, and the location was perfect -- right in the middle of the Intracoastal, making it easy to head either north or south to explore, find islands, or stop at nearby bars and restaurants. The only small downside was parking -- it's a bit limited, and you have to park a few blocks away. But we just unloaded at the dock first, then parked the car, no big deal. A slightly better sign would help folks like me (the "bubble heads" ) find the place faster, but once you're there, it's smooth sailing! Highly recommend Sand Dollar Charters in New Smyrna Beach -- friendly people, clean boats, and a great experience all around!
