We stayed at the Tarpon There was a scary part, we are lucky we don't drink, otherwise I can see people falling into the water and slipping off the walkway because it's extremely narrow. We definitely had some fun getting on and off the houseboat especially with luggage and rain. It takes some non slip shoes and upper arm strength to hold on while the house boat is moving trying to get off or on. It's so well worth it though, we had a blast! If you're more low key and to experience new things then this is the place for you! It's like a camper on the water. We stayed in the Tarpon for 4 nights. Staff- very friendly, helpful, and pleasant. Houseboat- comfortable beds, except for in the loft. One of two complained. Bedding was soft. Bathroom- bigger than I expected! The water heater worked well enough for 4 adults to take showers within an hour and a half. The only mirrors in the place are in the bathroom, which made it difficult for the three girls to get ready. Kitchen- adequate for your needs. A pot and pan, microwave, two burners, cutting board, toaster, full size fridge, dishes for 4, and enough cooking utensils. Decks- they are to die for. We thoroughly enjoyed our coffee up there in the mornings and then drinks at night. I highly recommend this place, especially if you like camping. It was a great time and I would love to come back!

Had such a great experience coming here with my son. I had done lots of research on all the…read moredifferent scuba/sandbar excursions in the keys, and when I found this one, it looked like something fun and local that would be a lot of fun to do. When I initially called them for help in which boat we should pick for our excursion, that woman that answered the phone was so nice and helpful and just got me more excited to book and made it fun to look forward to. I liked that this one was only 3 hours, because we were stopping on our way back to Miami from Key West and we didn't want to be on the water all day. The day of when we were driving up from Key West, we thought we had plenty of time to get there, but traffic was proving it difficult for us to make it on time. I called the shop to ask about how much time we would have since we wouldn't be able to get there in the 30 mins prior to make way, as requested when booking. Alanna answered the phone and was more than happy to help out. I called about an hour prior to our initial arrival time to inform them we may be late, and she was wonderful. She said they could hold the boat for a few minutes for us but just to keep them posted. As we inched our way closer and closer to Tavinier, traffic still was not on our side. They called and checked in on us and how the drive was going, and this to me made me feel taken care of above and beyond. They didn't have to call, they didn't have to wait, but they did, and I was very much appreciative of them! When it came to finally making my way in, I couldn't find parking, and again, Alanna saved the day and helped me locate a spot! We ran to the boat, hopped on and Captain Chris and Mate Savannah were so wonderful with the same southern hospitality. They greeted us with huge smiles and off we went. Savannah and Chris both checked in on us once we were parked at the sandbar, offering bevs, floating devices, conversation, and just a great time! My son and I really enjoyed ourselves and would highly recommend this charter!

They were super friendly and happy to take care of everyone's needs. Drinks and all equipment you may need were also included. So glad we chose to snorkel with Island Girl. I hope to be back!
