BEAUTIFUL SEBASTIAN BEACH RESORT... Been coming here for years. Its our Key West type location but in Sebastian. The hotel is 3+ star hotel no frills but clean. The resort 4+ star which is across from the hotel on the water, which is its bread and butter. Two big tiki bars looking over the water with live folk and classic rock music. They serve cold beer and easy menu foods. We used to get their incredible lobster rolls but lately not offered. Friendly staff. Really nice dock with boating and kayaks. Within a two minute Uber drive they have two breweries and many antique stores with other beach style food joints. Prices this time of year for the hotel is about $115 per night weekdays and up to $400 weekends. We always hit this place on Monday and Tuesday for best rates. read more

We ate at capt. Hiram's for my birthday. The service was good. There is plenty to choose from the menu. I had fish and chips. But no chips but a baked potato. It was good. I thought the fish was a small portion for the price ! My husband had fried shrimp. He said it was good but pricey. Because it was my birthday they gave me a piece of key lime pie, which was very good. So .. we found the service to be good. The food was somewhat expensive. read more

Man, this place has truly made a full 360 since my last review 5 years ago. We came in with a group of 12, 7 kids and 5 adults. We started with drinks at the sandbar and then dinner at blackfins. Great beer selection with a good choice of national brand beers and craft brews. We were seated pretty quickly and in an area where the kids wouldnt bug anyone which was ideal. We got the crab dip to start which was fresh and delicious. I got the Jamaican jerk chicken. Honestly, one word, amazing. Wayyyy better than expected. Came for one night only and that was July 4th. We arrived a couple hours before check in but we were able to go ahead and park and walk from there while we waited. The lobby was bright and clean and the women behind the counter were very happy and nice. We were able to pre-checkin at this time. We were given a resort map, some coupons, and resort news/happenings. The resort has two restaurants across the street. I tried the Sandbar. There was live music and I just loved the beach vibe with a sand ground, tiki bars, all outdoors with lights strung and beach wood decor. Our room was actually ready a little before the normal 4pm check in time. It was quick to pick up our keys. We lucked out on our room! We were the top floor facing the intracoastal with some water views. We enjoyed fireworks from our balcony that night and it was truly special. The room was spacious with a king bed, mini fridge, chair, desk and tv cabinet. The bathroom was also a nice size with a standing shower only. Everything was clean. We didn't spend much time in the room and I had zero complaints. The pool area was well kept with adequate amount of seating. There were quite a few people enjoying the pool that day and even brought speakers to make it a party! All around a fun, laidback beach vibes hotel with lots to do close by. read more

It is a nice location, but they sat us out in the sun. I ordered a margarita and the ice melted within 15 minutes of drinking it. Watery margarita is never good. The sole stuffed with crab tasted like tilapia trash fish stuffed with crab. My daughter had the crab cake sandwich....she barely ate half of it and said it tasted like crap. Won't go back. When I say Capt. Hiram's Resort is a dive - I mean it is the most disgusting place I have ever seen in my entire life and I have been to third world countries who barely have plumbing. The room had not been cleaned. The bed was made but based on the a little black curly hairs in that bed, I guessing the linen had not been changed. The shower drain had clumps of hair in it and the tiny shampoo bottle was 1/3 full. The interior is horrific. The white towels were dingy gray and the bathroom countertops look like people were cutting steak on it. I could not sleep so I sat in the chair and worked all night. In the morning, I went to check out when I met Sean, the night manager. He never asked how my stay was, because Sean has the managerial skills of a fly on LSD. I told him of the room I encountered and as nonchalantly as you can possible imagine he said, "Oh - yeah... we have had some issues with housekeeping lately. They probably just didn't clean you room." No apologies - not remorse at all. That statement alone is so horrific that it truly defies normalcy. So I was about to walk out and I told him that I was even more shocked that after telling him of the room, he never even bothered to apologize. Guess what he did then.... It wasn't an apology ... he just stared me down as if to say, "What are you gonna do about it?" Please people ... take my word for it. The place is FILTHY. Stay somewhere else. read more

Stayed here one weekend for my husband's bday. I booked the King Suite overlooking the water. I was very underwhelmed with the room. The room was in no way a suite. It did not even have an inside sitting area, just a bed and a mini fridge. It was very small and I cannot believe they label those suites. The atmosphere of the place is cool and it's nice that you can enjoy dinner and drinks and go right up to your room. Being that I love thirty minutes away I don't think it would make sense to stay there again based off the price of ~$400 for the room. I do not suggest eating a Blackfins, their attached restaurant. I have a separate review for them but my meal was horrible and the service was poor as well. read more

Only gave one star because the place was horrific! They gave us a room next to the bands room wich was ok until the couple started a physical fight and we heard slapping and screaming coming from the room. We called the front desk around 2 am and it continued. They said they would let them know and we heard there phone ring in there room and they were gone . So .... To say the least ? We will never stay there again. Restaurant was good food and that's about it. Next morning I spoke while checking out to the gentleman in front desk? Well... where do I begin... perhaps at the beginning? We went here on a whim tonight (a Sunday). When we showed up, to our surprise, it was karaoke night. AMAZNG!! My husband and I LOVE karaoke. I used to host karaoke to pay the rent (this matters later in the story... I promise) So we find a spot to sit, because it's seat yourself and figure it out. All good. We find a spot next to some AWESOME locals. Conversation was everything but lacking tonight. Good people, great crowd. Word of caution: if you CAN'T stomach ciggies this might not be the spot for you. Not overly in your face but definitely part of the experience. That said... a pleasant atmosphere overall. So... I have zero complaints about the night... dirty oysters are TO DIE FOR, my husband is not a huge oyster fan and these have been his faves of our trip thus far (and I've insisted he taste plenty up to this point). We also had the Cajun shrimp and a killer swordfish sandwich. All awesome. Wait staff: sooo soooo nice and attentive and just overall good vibes. Great place! Go there.... UNLESS you are a karaoke connoisseur. The host is THE WORST. DJ Dougie can take a long walk off of a short... well you know the saying. This guy loves nothing more than the sound of his own voice. If you want to be disrespected and listen to a "host" singing with or over his guests uninvited then this might be your place. The people are awesome but let me say there was absolutely some chatter amongst the crowd about this just being what this guy is all about. He is noticeably upset when anyone sings well... "upstaging" him is a sure way to never get on the stage for the rest of the night. Just be warned. He can be bought with a $20... probably the only way my hubby and I were able to get up there but once he heard us and saw the crowd interacting he tried to "get in on the action. " He went so far as to sit next to me and take my hand and lay me back while I was singing with my HUSBAND. And again, this is where my history being a karaoke dj comes into play... we are not American idols but we 100% like to put in a show... flat notes and all... its KARAOKE... but this guy CANNOT stomach someone upstaging him. This should not be a thing. And I probably wouldn't be this passionate about it had I not spent so much time in his position. No names, but this is known around some of the wait staff as well... and some other patrons. Just be forewarned if you're going for karaoke. Get your requests in fast and early and probably don't tip him right away because, yes, he will bump you up if he doesn't know you, but after that he's not keen on you getting more attention than him. This was just our experience. If you could give 2 you know what's about karaoke then I guess most of this review isn't relevant to you and I would 100% recommend it for food and fun. Well, that's my two cents. I LOVE everything about this place EXCEPT dj dougie. Tripple "meh" for that guy. 4 stars... one removed because of DJ Dougie and his shenanigans. Shoulder shrug. Stopped in on recommendation of some friends. I had the shrimp tacos and fries. While they were decent they were nothing to rave about. The fries could have and should have been a little warmer. My vodka soda was very weak. It was only 2,50 but it was barely worth that. Hubby had the wings and said they were good but obviously frozen. His craft beer on the other hand was $7.50 each and we go to that brewery right down the street. We will head back to the brewery! On a brighter note. The view is wonderful. And, we had a nice breeze this evening First time in the adjacent restaurant of Blackfins. We were told immediately upon arrival that the wait for food is an hour. We were seated and drinks brought. We also received bread and the salad I ordered pretty quickly. The food arrived in 35 minutes. Looks good. The mahi was decent. A very small piece for 19 bucks. It came with two sides I had baked potato and coleslaw. Both were decent. Hubby had the seafood platter. He didn't think it was all fried but it was. The shrimp were good and the cod. The "Maryland " crab cake was not Maryland style at all and he couldn't find any lump crabmeat in there. He did say it was pretty good even so. All in all. We came over from Orlando to spend the weekend for a concert here and got here a little too early for check in. Kiki helped us figure things out and was so kind. Our room was not ready at check in and we had been waiting a little bit of time. Danielle worked the reservation to place us in a different room to get us in as quickly as possible! They apologized for the delay and made us feel super welcome! We got to our new assigned room and we are more than happy! The front desk staff was amazing!!!! Plenty of food, drinks, and music on a beautiful day. I thought the service was excellent, considering the COVID period. Take a boat fishing excursion and catch a fish, and they will cook it for you.
