The Capri is an incredible place to stay in Ocean City. As an owner, I can honestly say the amenities are excellent, the beachfront views are unbeatable, and parking is always easy -- which is rare in this area. Most of the owners here are welcoming and help make this community truly special. That said, during the week of September 7, 2025, there was a deeply unpleasant incident with renters on the third floor. A family staying there was loudly screaming racial slurs. It was disturbing, offensive, and completely out of line with the spirit of the Capri. Incidents like this not only make residents and guests uncomfortable, but they also harm the reputation of the building. Management should take a hard look at screening and rental policies to prevent situations like this from happening again. The Capri deserves better, and the people who call it home take pride in keeping it a safe, welcoming, and family-friendly place. Overall, I love this community and everything it offers, but I hope the necessary steps are taken so that everyone's experience continues to reflect the best of what the Capri has to offer. read more

The Highlight is the indoor pool because we usually go off season and sometimes the weather is not agreeable to be in the great outdoors. Its a hope and a skip to the beach. the balcony showed view of both beach, pool area, and the bay. This made pretty sunset pictures. The rooms are spacious, though not fond of the some of the bedding since its difficult to get in and out of them. It is a quiet atmosphere, very rarely did we hear even a door slam. Though around 9:30 pm we did hear someone vacuuming the hallway ( not a big deal ). Its clean - the Capri is rather dated, the price is right. WE go for the beach and the indoor pool. We were told at check in that there would be a person come to the condo to fix the window blind??? This was strange seeing the person could have been there when there were not renters using the property. read more

All I can say about the Capri Condominium is Breathtaking & Refreshing. Its the perfect spot to relax your mind and just getaway from the everyday urban life. The condo has an amazing view of the Atlantic Ocean to the right and the bay to the left. The place was spotless and its got its own reserved parking spot. This review is based upon my 6 hours that I have been here, joining my family who are spending about a week here. The condo is just average for comparable in the area. But to advertise that there is WiFi is a joke. I had to turn off my WiFi to submit this review. My family had told me that it was spotty before I got here, so I missed a half day of vacation to stay at home and attend my virtual meeting for work, thank goodness they told me or I would have been out of luck. It is 2 AM and I am the only person awake in the unit right now but I am still getting below 3Mb of download and it drops completely, intermittently. This is not ok. I found Capri extremely dated, the AC in the hallways is weak, you have to walk through the parking lot to get to the beach area, renters only get 1 parking spot... My condo has been great! It's updated and super clean! The lady security officer was absolutely wonderful! She helped me so many times. Then something really bothered me. I went to go to the sauna this evening. It's a bathroom with a sauna and shower. So I closed the door for privacy. After 30 mins of sauna bliss, a loud knock was at the door. The male security officer was at the door and treated me like I was a criminal! I had the door closed to the room, which kept everyone else out! I didn't know the door automatically locked. I just think he should have treated me a little kinder. Just explained to me that it isn't a private room. Instead, he was actually mean and condescending about it! Like I was hogging the bathroom from the other guests! I spent another 15 mins in the bathroom/sauna after the fiasco. No one else came in anyway! I just feel like I was treated like a rule breaker who doesn't deserve to be staying here! Wow!!! I won't close the door the next time! I guess indecent exposure will be better here! :( Everything else is wonderful! Especially the female security guard. I wish she had come knocking on the door. I would have felt safer. read more

Facility is nice, indoor pool and game room but a bit subdued and dated like other reviewers mentioned. Why only 1 star then?? The staff/parking security are the worst people in the world to deal with.. We've stayed at plenty of places in OC and have never had the ordeal that we came across with this place.. If you are planning to head down with a larger family or 2 families like we did, and 2 vehicles - go elsewhere. It doesn't matter how big a unit you get or that half the parking lot is empty.. once they have your money they don't give 2 shites about you & the fact your supposed to be on VACATION.. Disappointing. Owner very difficult to contact throughout We arrived at night. Check in process was inefficient (@ $30 for the privilege). The building smelled like a portopotty. Our apartment attractive but having paid $100 for linens! we discovered no bath soap no hand soap no dish soap and 2 sheets of toilet paper. Not very welcoming. View beautiful as is beach. This place is disgusting. Besides the fact that it has not been updated in about 25 years, it was filthy. Mold all over. The carpets were filthy. The bedding gross. The ac did not work. We ( my family son ,daughter in law hubby and 2 grandaughters) . Throughly upset, pool can not use, we were told first the health dept had closed them because of the virus. ( all pools up and down the Coastal HWY were open, I could see people swimming in the pools from my bedroom window) I really would like to know if the health dept supposbly shut them down for because it wasn,t for the virus.Then we were told it was a staffing problem, so you are going into your busy season without help? Isn,t that what they make for hire ads in the paper for? Last the pool and other anmities that were closed were listed as open , all the booking agents have them listed as OPENED! The info we got at check in has the pool as opened. I feel for what we paid for the condo we should have gotten EVERYTHING.Am not the only one who feels this way a family across from us felt that they were cheated. When we checked out 2 people were standing at the door talking about it . NO POOL, NO ANYTHING!!! I FEEL THAT PEOPLE ARE BEING MISLEAD AND DECEIVED into renting , I know I wouldn,t have rented and the family across from us wouldn,t have either. Bait and switch !! This is illegal. Also there is no one to address this to ( although I have time and full intentions of going up the food chain with this). The woman at the desk was to busy watching TV to even get up and check us in properly or answer questions. Then there was rent a cop who told my hubby if he didn,t move his car he was going to have it towed,( we were trying to get our parking space number which we paid for and am to busy watching TV lady behind the desk was have trouble doing her job getting our car space. Our stay at the Capri was horrible. When we arrived the security guard was very rude and unfriendly. We had two vehicles (which we had to pay extra for a second spot $55) a truck and a SUV. The space that they gave me to park my SUV was very small and it took several try to get it into the spot which was under the deck with big wooden posts that damaged my vehicle. When I told the security guard this he told me that was the only spot available and that I had to make it work. When we got into our unit #1901, we noticed several things were broken. the blinds in the one bedroom would not close, both of the towel racks in the bathrooms were broke and fell to the floor when you tried to put a towel on them, dresser drawers and cabinet doors were broke and would not close all the way. The TV in the room my children (2,3,9,14) were staying in shut off and would not turn back on. The was something splashed on the walls and floor, the fridge leaked and the whole week we had to clean up water, the stove was broke and I could not use the one burner and the microwave was cracked. The two biggest problems were 1) the bathtub; one night while bathing my 2 year old daughter the faucet came flying off the wall and missed my daughter by inches. 2) the dryer, anything we put in the dryer that had strings got ruined including my daughters shorts, bathing suit and my sisters shirt. I paid a lot of money for this condo and what I got was way less than what I expected. I booked through Caldwell Banker and it's hard to believe that they do not have standards that must be kept for them to rent condos. I also reached out to their customer service line to notify them of the broken stuff and someone was supposed to get back to me and never did. The whole experience here is not a one star but there enough challenges that you need to pause and seriously consider what you are looking for in a vacation and if this place meets the needs. No. As in no air conditioning in bedrooms. Stayed in top floor rooms in the 2000 series. They have two floors with a spiral staircase between. The upstairs are the two bedrooms and two full baths. Air conditioning doesn't work on second floor. Thought it was just our unit but asked some of the neighbors and they had same issue. Seems like the top floor with the two floor setup just doest work. Spoke with rental agency they confirmed that all top floor rooms have cooling issues in summer and heating issues in winter because they are right under roof of building and not insulated well. They said other floors don't have that issue. Would've been nice to know before we rented. I guess they decide not to disclose some things in rental advertisement. How does that level of dishonesty strike you? This accounted for a few sleepless nights and me sleeping downstairs on a couch on one of the hotter nights. Reserved parking space is a nice feature here. Many hotels down the strip are first come first serve and have overflow lots blocks away across busy streets. So this is a nice plus. However, a bit of a let down: Came in from long day, found that our reserved parking space was taken. Apparently another guest arrived and had two cars so they gave my spot up. After-hours security seemed to know about it before hand as though they knew they were doing it. Security lady said i knew that would start a chain reaction of parking issues.Then told me all other spots were taken. Had to park in the vendor spot. I will be surprised if I'm not run into or towed by morning. Anyway, i will have to spend some of my beach time tomorrow dealing with it. Amenities are good, in room laundry and full kitchen. Neighbor stopped over and said our room was much more updated than his. He said his bathrooms were all a tight squeeze. This is a very dated place and the owner of your room may or may not have updated the interior so check the pix and ask lots of questions. keep in mind the dishonesty of the rental folks. A nice feature was large lockers on the parking level. They don't want you to lug your sandy chairs, brellas and such up to the rooms. This is an excellent feature. All you need to do is supply a lock, keyed or combo. Each room has a locker assigned. We were able to fit 4 chairs, 4 umbrellas and three boogie boards, although tightly. Stop on your way from the beach and drop this stuff off. Do you want quiet? If so this may be your place. The stay here is a bit lifeless especially where kids are involved. Would like to have enjoyed at least one day where we weren't running all over oc to keep the kids entertained in the evening, however there isn't much for kids to do here in the evening. Overheard some other kids here saying the same. Simple game room. But beyond that the place is lifeless. If you are bringing kids this isn't the place. It's dead. Meanwhile the golden sands next door had activity on their deck, deck games, families, live music, a bar, and people gathering every night. The Capri has signs on the deck that say no ipods or music, or alcohol on deck. Yes seriously, the sign says no iPods, no music, no alcohol. Deck door closes at 10 and your security code wont open it as if you needed another hint not to use it. You have to go around to front of building to get in. The deck chairs remained stacked and i only saw one couple sitting there the whole week we were there in second week of July! The pool also closes reasonably early to ensure quiet. Oh but the place has a library. Does that give you a sense of how quiet it is here? If you have kids you might choose elsewhere. Be OK with driving to get everywhere if you stay here. You are 15 minutes no traffic and 25 minutes or more in a busy afternoon or evening to the inlet area. You are only a few minutes away from Delaware, and only 35 minutes from Rehoboth Beach and boardwalk which is well worth a visit during an evening. There is really nothing within safe walking distance due to traffic and speeders. The positives are the amenities in the room, not sure about other floors though, there might be less space and less amenities. Be sure to check. The view from where we stayed is great. We stayed on the west end of the building facing south toward inlet. We had good view of ocean between buildings, the bay, and south toward inlet. We were on the twentieth floor. Your view mileage may vary on lower floors or other side of building. Easy beach access. Beach is narrower than south oc but still big. Beach is guarded during the day. Tip. Get online and get an mvp savings card from foodline before you visit. Foodline is the grocery store chain here and prices are high. You can save a dollar or more on many items with an mvp card. read more

Where to begin... the moment we opened the door to 1812, we fell in love. This unit is remarkable! From the direct beach view from the balcony to the spacious sized rooms we had not one complaint. Everything was provided, all we needed was to put our suits on and head to the ocean. The game room was nice for the kids on a rainy afternoon and the indoor pool a hit. We debated staying on the boardwalk and chose this place due to price and have NO regrets. After driving up and down Coastal Highway all week, we would still choose to stay here again over "downtown" anytime. Capri management was a little grumpy when we went in to get a 2nd parking permit, but with all the tourists, it was tolerable and understandable. My family and I stayed at The Capri Room 0510 in June 2012 and we had a great time. We booked the same room for June 2013 and the experience was NOT the same as 2012. The room 0510 was filthy upon entering it at check in. We cleaned the entire room ourselves and complained to the leasing company Long and Foster. They did offer to send the cleaning service up & we declined. We'd rather clean it ourselves to ensure it was done properly. Two days after returning home from vacation the entire family broke out in red bumps over our entire bodies. We went to the Dr & were diagnosed with scabies. We had to treat ourselves and our entire house. We complained to Long and Foster about this and they did NOT care at all. They said we could have gotten scabies from somewhere else. We were concerned about the future families that would be staying in that unit knowing something was happening there and to us after our stay. Even if we did not contract this from the unit we still stayed there and put future guests at risk. Long and Foster had no intention of letting anyone renting that unit know about a possible infestation. The red bumps finally went away about 3 to 4 weeks after our treatment. Fast forward to the first week of September and the red bumps started to reappear. I thought it was condition called post scabies syndrome until yesterday morning. My daughter lost an earring in her bed while sleeping. I stripped her bed while looking for the earring and my husband found a bug. And then another. We called an exterminator immediately and they came out the same day and said we had bed bugs. Now we are questioning whether we had scabies at all and were missed diagnosed. It is possible the original red bump came from bed bugs instead. I know our bed bug issues came from the unit 0510 at the Capri. We have not traveled anywhere prior to this vacation to Ocean City and never had red bumps until after leaving the unit. We NEVER had bed bugs prior to this.
