He's got a big beard and a big personality and isn't a salesman. He'll tell you exactly what you need if you want help--sometimes recommending the lower priced items over higher priced items because he's a genuine dude out to make fly anglers vs. make a buck. I've bought countless bugs from him. A rod. A waist pack. I think a t-shirt at some point. I've drank his free beer at the occasional, random store parties he decides to throw on a whim. It's a beautiful store. He even sells American made jeans if you decide that on your way to the river, you not only need bugs but also some raw denim for whatever reason.

This is the time to get them serviced so they are ready to go in the spring. I then called a shop in New Richmond, Wi. and was told to bring it right in which I did and it was fixed in 1 week. I would never call Hannays Marine again either for service or to purchase a new boat. Got a call saying it was done and ready for pickup. They cleaned the carbs and serviced the 30 year old engine and gave me a bill for more than $800 without ever telling me what they planned to do. I probably would have just put the money towards a new motor. Second, needed a small part and was assured it would be arriving in a day to two, in advance of this years fishing opener. 5 days later, no part, no phone call. Weeks later, no part, no phone call. But they took payment for it. Would not recommend!
