I've had 2 pretty unfortunate experiences at supreme marine. Brought in a motor that would not push the boat on plane. Asked them to give me a call when they knew what was wrong with it. Got a call saying it was done and ready for pickup. They cleaned the carbs and serviced the 30 year old engine and gave me a bill for more than $800 without ever telling me what they planned to do. I probably would have just put the money towards a new motor. Second, needed a small part and was assured it would be arriving in a day to two, in advance of this years fishing opener. 5 days later, no part, no phone call. Weeks later, no part, no phone call. But they took payment for it. Would not recommend! read more

I do not recommend Supreme Marine. We have used them several times because they are one of the few places that will work on a motor as old as ours (1986 Mercury). Almost every time we have used them, we seem to have trouble with them. This last time tops the list. We had our boat in there and they repaired a water pump, adjusted the carburetor, and repaired the lower unit after we hit a deadhead. They said it was all fixed and ready to go except for the prop that we had ordered. When my husband was trying to put on the prop, he realized that they had not given him a part back that they had taken off when they had taken off the old prop. He also realized they had not put in the plug for the gear oil which means they did not put in any gear oil. Then, we took our boat up to Blackduck for a week of vacation and put the boat in the water and found out the mechanic did not put the shift shaft back together correctly so the motor would not go into gear. Luckily, we found a mechanic in Bemidji who was willing to help us and fix the inept job Supreme Marine did so we only lost three days of our vacation instead of all seven. read more

Some old fashioned guys who will give it to you down right and dirty. Won't try to upsell you on anything, but will point out what you need and save you where you don't. Bout a used motor with them and had some issues since the motor sat through the winter. Brought it back and they took care of it right away. read more

Had my Mercruiser I/O in to Supreme Marine for a new starter motor. They called and told me the engine was seized. So I opted to have the motor replaced by them. Big Mistake. Took 3-4 months and hasn't been right since. The first time I got it back, they had neglected to tighten the starter motor and it made a terrible grinding noise when I tried to start it, and then the starter just spun. Brought it back and they fixed it, but charged me $500 to replace the flywheel for chipped teeth, likely caused by the loose starter in the first place. The very next outing after getting it back again, I found water in the oil, a LOT of water. I was told they got a shipment of bad manifold gaskets. I believed it. I was told the bad gasket was replaced and got it back again, fixed...or was it? Just found 6 quarts of water in the oil again. I'm done taking the boat to Supreme. I feel lied to and fleeced. The previous owner of my motor and myself had Supreme Marine work on my 225 Evenrude. Supreme Marine took the (replace everything) route instead of figuring out what the problem was. $1400 later, the computer, stator and sensors had been replaced and it literally ran worse than when I first took it in! I finally took it to a small time mechanic to have him figure it out. The oil injection was putting too much oil into the system causing it to smoke like a chimney and not stay running. So, he disconnected the oil injection, put new plugs in and gave it a tune up. Now it starts like a champ and purrs like a kitten. Also, the front desk guys were helpful and nice. The owner was rude and likes to hang up the phone when he's done talking, regardless if you're finished talking. I will NEVER go to this place again. read more
