CAPPS Painting completed an exterior paint job of my home in October of 2022. I was very pleased. The black trim on the Facia board unfortunately developed some bubbling. The owner, Reed, checked on it and determined it was defective paint that he purchased from Sherwin Williams. The CAPPS painting crew repainted the entire Facia board. Looks terrific. Lucky for me, Reed CAPPS is honest. Not a whole lot of that going around these days. The crew is polite and cleaned up to my satisfaction, and I'm picky. I would highly recommend Capps Painting. Our home was built in 1936 and the kitchen has been painted many times with layers and layers of oil base and water base paint. It was way over due for an update. Reed and his crew stripped the paint off the cabinets and drawers. A handful of reviews, all 5 stars? This cant be right.. right? Saw an ad in Bakersfield Home Magazine and started snooping around Yelp and their Facebook. Requested a quote via Yelp and never heard a word. I then made a comment on their Facebook page and got a reply promptly saying they would have the owner Reed contact me shortly... Several days passed and heard nothing so I figured they just didn't want my business, I guess I'm a bit cynical that way.. But I persisted and replied to the Facebook message then got a call from the owner Reed. He explained he had been out of town and apologized for the prior communication experiences. Told him about our project and he agreed to stop by and take a look. Reed showed up on time and gave me a written quote. Advised him I was going to be getting some other bids and hoped to make a decision after the holidays. Got several other quotes and found his quote to be inline with others in the area, however Capps was going to paint the insides of the cabinets/drawers which was optional with two of the other painters I talked to and he offered a warranty on his work as well. After the holidays I reached out to Reed and agreed to the price he had quoted. Signed the contract and sent it back and about 10 days later his crew showed up and went to town. I believe what makes Capps a great company is not only the professionalism of Reed, but also that of his his crew leader Lionel and his sidekick (didnt catch his name, but he wore glasses). These two guys were nothing but courteous, on time each day, and had answers to all my questions. They went above and beyond doing extra things we weren't even expecting, small details that make a huge difference.....caulking, sealing, extra attention to detail on the final walk around to make sure the job was done and done right. Capps painting did an amazing job painting the entire exterior of our home. To start Reed came out to our house and gave us an itemized quote before leaving. The price was great compared to competitors and so we choose Capps. We were not disappointed, the entire job took 6 days. Everyday there were 3-4 guys working on the project and the were courteous and professional. One thing that I really like about them was that they did a great job cleaning up the job site at the end of each day. Lastly, at the end of the project we were encouraged to "pick the job apart." With a couple of touch ups the painters did not want to leave until everything was perfect. I must say I would highly recommend Capps if you need your home painted. read more

My personal opinion of Capps painting is mixed the job was only the trim on my home. His price was high. He seemed to think his time was more important than mine. On three different occasions he thought it was necessary to detail his personal reasons why he wouldn't be out after he had set appointments. Not my business, didn't need excuses wanted him to stand by his word. He was rude, never had a business man act like that before. My job was fair, but his crew prep was unsatisfactory. Unfortunately I have to hire someone else to do a repair, he said he personally would do. But the insulted me. Poor business practice. read more

Reed had a subcontractor who knew what he was doing. Removed a chunk of rot, added new wood and BOOM, just like new.
