Cappadocia is a cozy, charming café known for its Turkish-style breakfast and specialty drinks. We stopped by late Saturday morning for brunch, and the place was absolutely packed so we were sorted by the kitchen. It was a bit hectic but we were just happy to be sat.
We ordered the pistachio latte, dirty chai, Cunda simit, and halloumi with sujuk. The standout was definitely the pistachio latte--the flavor was rich, nutty, and beautifully infused into the coffee without being overly sweet.
Unfortunately, the rest of the menu didn't quite live up to that first impression. The dirty chai felt pretty average; I prefer stovetop-style chai with a deeper, more layered masala profile, which was missing here. The Cunda simit was very dry, and my partner didn't enjoy it and she found it hard to bite in & blend. The halloumi was solid, but the sujuk leaned heavily on a generic meaty saltiness rather than the bold, spiced balance I was expecting (cumin, garlic, pepper and the slight tang) --it lacked that satisfying umami depth.
Prices were also on the higher side for the portion and overall experience. While I really enjoyed the atmosphere and would come back for the pistachio latte, the food side still has quite a bit of room for improvement. read more
