We have been going to Capozzis since it was built. Over the years and through staff turnover we have been constant customers. Today will be our last time going. I called in an order (had to call 2 times) and did not receive what I ordered. When I questioned the girl (who was obviously new) about a piece of cheese cake. She said I never ordered it. Ok fine. I took my order to the car and checked it. The carrots we ordered were in a dressing container. Maybe 5 carrots and a salad dressing. I went back inside to question was this a side and explained we always got a small aluminum container she said we don't do that. Well they have been doing it for years. I then said may I get the cheesecake I ordered and she said we are very busy it will be at least 10 minutes. I simply walked out. The server/ cashier was obviously overwhelmed. Maybe she does not need to be in a customer service business. The previous visit they were slow and unorganized. I know it's hard to find employees but this was a last straw for me. I hate this because we love the food. But non customer service is not a way to continue this business. read more

Ate here a few years ago and found it decent (in line with the rating.) Brought my family here for dinner again tonight, and it was a total disaster. Pizza was mediocre, and the girl taking my order totally botched it even though we went over it five times (not exaggerating.) Mostly kids behind the counter and the service suffers. Friend ordered 2 Neapolitan slices with onions , pepperoni, ham, and meatballs. To our dismay we didn't know the ham would be r a w . Jesus Christ it looked like straight up rubber. I've long been a fan of the Capozzi's on Roswell Rd., but I found myself doing errands one evening in the area and figured why not try out this Shallowford Rd. location just to see if there was any real difference in quality. To cut to the chase, no, not really different; similarly excellent pizza from this location as I expect from the Roswell Rd. location, and it's a true benefit for those who live closer to this one than the other, that high quality NY style pizza is available from multiple locations. The Shallowford Rd. address is a little bit misleading, since the location actually faces Sandy Plains Rd., so far down that it even has its own traffic light entrance/exit. But basically it's at the corner of Shallowford and Sandy Plains in a shopping center anchored by a Kroger, but it's way literally the one of the very last business at the far southern tip of the entire plaza. Be weary about going during the hours in which the neighboring Orange Theory fitness is open, because like most gyms in East Cobb, they're full of people pretending they're upper-middle class, and the parking situation is pathetically bad when all the Lexus and Audi SUVs are fighting over the small strip of 14 parking spots directly in front as opposed to the sea of parking a small walk away, but I would still say quality pizza is worth the Appalachian trail hike. Entering Capozzi's, it's a super chill and relaxed atmosphere, with a few tables and even fewer booths. Not at all pretentious, but comfortable and I feel right at home at a place like this. Service is efficient and friendly, and my drink never went empty while there. One thing that was different than Roswell Rd's location, or maybe I just never paid attention there was, the option to order slices Sicilian style, instead of the droopy thin Neapolitan style that I expect immediately. It's slightly more, but still worth the cost to try, and it's like a pan pizza with crispy flavorful edges and way more thickness to every bite. The zucchini sticks are more like actual sticks at Shallowford Rd., whereas Roswell Rd's is more like shaved up zucchinis that's battered and fried, but the difference has no bearing to the fact that it's still good. Prices are basically the same, which is favorable and very good value, and it's very easy for two people to eat two slices with drinks and an appetizer and barely scratch over $20 including a tip; or you can splurge and get the whole pie, and take the leftovers home for the greatest cold pizza meals the following day. Overall, this Capozzi's is as good as the other location, which is to say that they're both excellent places with my favorite pizza in the area. It's good to know that depending on where I'm running errands, there are two locations to get great NY style pizza, and I highly recommend either to anyone looking for fairly authentic pizza. read more

Updating this review to say that the owner reached out to me personally to explain the phone issues were out of their control, unfortunately, so I amended this review since their food and service has always been consistently good. They would get 5 stars if their ordering system wasn't so ridiculous. You call to make a takeout order, and 90% of the time you call you get an error message that the wireless customer can't be reached. So you call back since you're used to this drill and know they're actually a legitimate business and after 8-10 more attempts over the next 15 mins you finally get an actual ringtone. Then you have to cross your fingers that you don't get randomly disconnected and have to call all over again. Once you finally get someone on the line you're quoted 45 mins to an hour for a takeout pizza. You show up after 45 mins and still have to wait in the parking lot for another 15 mins because it's not ready yet. This is my daughter's favorite pizza place but tonight was the last straw. Every other business in the area has seemed to figure out how to field multiple phone calls coming in even when busy. How in the world they maintain business when potential new customers are greeted with an error message anytime the line is busy - for several years now - is an absolute mystery. read more

Hmm... We were craving some Italian and decided to try this local little shop. The garlic knots were great - covered in just enough butter and parmesan cheese, cooked just right. $6 for 12 knots. For dinner, I ordered the Eggplant Rollatini which has to be the thinnest slice of eggplant on the planet. They slice the eggplant, batter and fry it and then use it like a lasagna noodle to hold ricotta, spinach and sundried tomatoes. I really thought the eggplant tasted more like a rubbery noodle. Very disappointing. If you are going to use the word eggplant in the item name, you should use some decent eggplant slices. Also surprising that a $11 dish doesn't even include a side salad. Those are all extra. As much as I try to avoid the big chains and like to support the small businesses, I could have gotten a decent eggplant dish, with salad and breadstick at OG for the same price. As a newbie from New York State, was craving some good Italian food. Saw rave reviews and decided to try it. Bad decision! The lasagne was a very small. 6" pie, about 1" high .Flat and overcooked. It did not resemble lasagne and it did not taste like lasagne I ever had. Actually it was a mixed up concoction of hamburg sauce and cheeses, with a few pieces of cooked lasagne noodles, no, no layers.! First time customer, last time customer. Do not recommend. read more
