As any frequent reviewer of my posts know, I like to periodically (annually) re-review my reviews…read moreas things can change. Sometimes businesses close, get bad, or sometimes, better. This is one of those posts as we've been back here a few more times since my original post. Yes, I know I've been bad about checking in, but I just had a son, so I've been a bit busy. Plus, since the Pandemic, we've been getting deliveries from here more than actually picking stuff up. Liquor Junction is open during this Pandemic as they are an essential service provider because keeping you liquored up is essential! This place has everything you need to make the household happy: whiskey and red wine. Well, they have other stuff that we dabble in like cigars, beers, and assorted liquors and wines. This is a pretty normal liquor store, not the fanciest digs, and maybe a bit bigger than your average corner liquor store. The selection is great. As an avid wine aficionado, I have been happily surprised by the selection and found several bottles that I've never encountered, including a Tempranillo I had never seen before. I love Tempranillos! Would I go back? Sure. The parking lot is wonky because it is in a cluster of a shopping center, but it's a nice little oasis. Plenty of places to park. Would I recommend this place? Yes. I would not recommend driving a long distance, unless they are holding an event, but if you're close, this should be your go-to spot.

With bourbon these days, that's almost unheard of. Also, I tried to pay for something I broke in their store during this whole pandemic and they wouldn't let me, and instead suggested I write a review if I felt compelled to do so. Should've done this forever ago. Sorry guys/girls. You're the best. Also, don't break anything in their store. This is probably the worst review ever and so much less than they actually deserve.

This awesome new bartender Colleen waited on us and the service throughout was perfect - attentive but not too hovering. I always have trouble picking a main course as there are many that I want. Really fun and entertaining dinner experience night out at Post 1917 in Reading AKA Jason Carron…read more Great for date nights. Atmosphere/Decor: Really interesting and unique interior formerly a Post Office (hence the name) with exposed brick, a tall windows, and a very long three-sided bar that makes up most of the restaurant. Very happening and social scene. Most folks dressed business casual and to impress. Lots of birthdays, regulars, and lookers. Big glam meets classic steakhouse hybrid vibes. We sat at a booth behind the bar and were initially concerned about placement but glad for the happening scene afterwards. The legroom was fairly tight for the taller folks. The booth was a little tight with space for all our food and drinks (e.g., four people, four cocktails, four waters, three appetizers was tight). Service: Very attentive. We had great servers, very attentive, fun, offered helpful insights and thoughts, and took great care of us ala traditional steakhouse norms. No delays. No complaints. Food: We really enjoyed our meal. The appetizers were fun. The restaurant is gluten free in homage to one of the owners(?) kids who's found it hard to eat out. You probably wouldn't notice that it's gluten free, as whatever almond/corn/rice flour they're using closely mimics mouth feel and taste. We were a little surprised the lamb app was (gluten-free) breaded but very moist and flavorful. Our steaks were all very good. I had the ribeye and it was a nice cut, aged (23-30 days?), and cooked exactly as desired. Cauliflower was decent and voluminous but not amazing. Wedge decent. Filets good. The chicken parm sounded very intriguing -- different than the usual fare and apparently one of their most popular dishes and huge but we will save it for next time. Fun desert options. Drinks: Great dirty martini. Fun cocktails for the table -- some great some just good. All boozy. The Whistle Pig tasting desert option was a a great value even if just for the 12 year XII at that price. They have a few rare allocated bourbons and whiskeys. Price: A much better deal than Boston steakhouses in general. This would have been twice the price if downtown there, and they're clearly enticing folks to make the drive. I think it's well worth it.

When I went in there was just one guy working the register. Friendly both times. Offered help as well, but I was just going to browse around anyway. Prices are pretty on par with what you'll pay for craft beers and oddities that you won't find elsewhere. I felt like there popular beers (you're Bud, etc) were maybe a bit more than at a Kappy's. But again, this place is targeting people looking for hard to find stuff. Definitely worth checking out if you're into trying to new (and even weird) beers.
