I brought my kids here to see Lilo and Stitch. After reading the reviews, I was concerned the place was going to be really gross, but I was pleasantly surprised that everything was nice and clean. The theater was immaculate, as were the restrooms. I bought tickets online and no one checked for them upon entry or even during the movie, so I'm not sure if that is standard. My only complaint is we heard loud banging during the movie that was not from an adjacent theater. Quite frankly, it sounded like gunshots. It had me on edge the whole movie. Three times I have come and three times it is gen the worst movie theatre experience of all time. It sucks this is the only major one in Cheyenne. The front desk is always extremely rude, never say hi back and never smiles. They profusely eye scan you up and down to survey your pockets to see if you have snacks then make a big scene about it, even though no other theatre chain in the nation gives a damn. The theatres are pretty clean I'll give them that, but they sure don't want you there. I've never written a review befor. but this theatre sucks so badly. While other chains are wanting you to have a great movie experience, these people want you to get out. The worst part is that they give such a care about outside theatre snacks, but don't care about complaints of loud and rude audience goers, could not care less. Every single movie I've seen has had a token audience group talking, but hey they got their money right? Screw this theatre, do not go here I am telling you your money should do elsewhere. read more

rat ended up in my food that was sitting on the seat right next to me owner was very disrespectful and rude when i brought this to his attention but he was VERY polite my man about when he talked to my man. this happed just the other day so beware. also the rat also jumped through two cupholders and two seats so they could be leaving their feces on the seats and cupholders not just the food!! he also would not refund our food, which is ridiculous, considering a rat ended up in it read more

So this is a very nice theater, seats are large and comfortable however the reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is they screwed up the layout. The second row of seats should be higher than the first row (normal theater layout) but it's not. If you sit in the second row and recline the front row blocks the bottom of the screen and if people are sitting in the front row it makes seeing the bottom of the screen even more difficult. I come to this theater often to enjoy the movies and frankly the seats are comfy. Prices for the movies are fine as are the prices for food/drinks - typical markup. What I do notice every time is the really horrible attitude at the ticket/concession counters. Doesn't seem to be an isolated incident. Seems the concessions people are generally unpleasant and rude to Everyone. Defiantly going out of their way to be rude to customers. I'm giving 1 star for the attitudes-otherwise I'd give 4 stars. read more

High ticket prices and over-priced popcorn are bad enough. Now they have some gig going where they claim all the seats are sold out except for the first row or singles spaced apart. Worst management EVER. The manager walked away from my brother when he was trying to tell her that there's something wrong with her soda machine. She continued to do that to another woman who complained. So I went after the movie and told her that she should look into fixing the soda machine and she looked at me like I was an idiot and laughed in my face. read more

Capitol has had some amazing renovations lately. I was already happy with the theater we had, but with the new reclining seats, increase in quality screens, and no change in price, I'm grateful and even more excited to go to the movies. I absolutely love their pretzels. Always warm and fresh! All we need know is some wine at this theater and Cheyenne is good to go! I want the owner to know, personally, that I am grateful for the renovations. Job well done! Everything looks awesome! read more

Went to see a movie and the power went out. Took almost a hour to come back on but then when it did the movie was about an hour further into the movie then where it left off. And the management refused to restart the movie where it left off. They at least gave a raincheck for a later date. read more

Nice place. Big seats. Comfy, stadium seating. Nice sounds. Of course it's a theatre, so be prepared to spend on the foods and drinks, but everyone was very nice, tickets were reasonably priced, and for a Friday night, there wasn't much of a massive crowd issue. read more

No customer service. They deny even simple logical requests. I asked about them getting more healthy options. I am currently losing weight to join the military. They won't get any healthy options, not even a pickle! Yet, they won't grant a special request to bring in fresh fruit or something healthy. I understand it's a policy, but to be such sticklers and so rigid about the "law" is not good customer service and I won't be going there anymore. read more

They recently upgraded the theater to have reclining seating, and I must say that I really enjoy that. The movie experience is much more relaxed now. The only downside is that you really have to make reservations for the seats you want ahead of time (buying online works just fine). Other than that it's a smooth transition on into the theater and movie! read more

I hate giving a poor review. If I could give no stars I would. The man that helped us with tickets was incredibly rude. At first I thought he just was making jokes then he got really defensive. I tried to lighten the mood but he was a real jerk!! I would have walked out but my family really wanted to see Star Wars. The theatre charges $4 a bottle for water. We spent over $100 on tickets and concessions for 6 people yet the man threw a fit about me brining my lemons in for water (I have been sick and was trying to detox). I will never come back to this place. The lobby had lots of popcorn all over the carpet. Overall, It was not a good experience. read more

The main problem I have with this place is the old man who checks your tickets near concessions. He is NASTY, suspicious that everyone is trying to sneak in to the movies when they don't have their ticket readily available, and just all-around grumpy and crotchety and smug. I avoid going during his work hours JUST to avoid interacting with him. read more

Great theater; avoid the owner. So... I tried to see The Revenant. Throughout the first 30 minutes of the movie (and the trailers) I'd noticed that the front-left speaker would cut in and out. Also the center channel of the audio had a muddled, underwater quality. This made any dialog difficult to understand and it made the movie difficult to enjoy. And it wasn't just me. In the quiet gaps in the audio I was able to overhear more than one fellow moviegoer complain that they couldn't hear what was being said on the screen. I went out to inform the nice young man behind the counter that there was a problem. It was shortly after that when Rob B*****, the owner of the Capital Stadium Theater, came out to tell me that I was wrong, that there were no audio issues. When I tried to explain the issues to Mr. B***** he interrupted me by loudly shushing me. Like I was a child. That's when I decided to just leave. But Mr. B***** followed me, loudly and angrily, explaining that the speakers were NEW, that they had JUST been installed and that they were PERFECT! (Even though he had not taken the time necessary to verify my complaint.) He acted like he was doing me a big favor when he refunded my money. Then he told me to "get out of his theater." I really thought I was doing the right thing by letting him know that there was a problem. Mr. B*****, I guess, didn't see it that way. I have honestly never been treated so rudely by a business in my life. I really can't tell if the guy has a mental illness of some kind or if he's just a huge jerk. I know other people who have had similar problems with Rob B***** but, since he is a friend of a friend, I've always given him the benefit of the doubt. But this time it happened to me. To have a normal conversation go from zero to nasty so quickly makes we worry about Mr. B***** and it makes me worry about my favorite theater. If he so casually mistreats his customers I can only imagine how he treats his poor employees. Yes, I am angry. But, more than anything else, I'm deeply saddened by my encounter with Mr. B*****. I have been a loyal patron of The Capital Stadium Theater since its opening night. I LOVED that place. To be so suddenly (and bizarrely) mistreated felt like being slapped in the face by a close friend. The last thing Rob B***** shouted at me as I left his establishment was, "I don't need your business! Go to the mall!" You got it Rob, you got it. I frequented The Capital Stadium Theater because it is a locally-owned business. But if the price of keeping my dollars in Cheyenne is dealing with that petty dictator of an owner then I'll gladly give my money to Carmike Cinemas Inc. read more

The theater was ok, hadn't been cleaned since the previous movie, so yuck! It was a bit expensive for a matinee: $6.25 for kids and $6.75 for adults. Needless to say, it was a $35 experience at 2pm that could have been better. We got some popcorn that wasn't fresh and everything was $3.75 or higher... I can't afford this to often. read more

Terrible customer service! I have never been treated so disrespectfully by an employee (or in this case the ACTUAL owner). To give you a little background, I purchased my tickets online and, after showing up at the theater, sat down in what I thought were my seats. However, five minutes into the movie, a stressed out, aggressive, and impatient man (the owner), comes to my seat with a flashlight and says, "Show me your tickets!" Apparently, I failed to move fast enough because he continued to repeat the command - "Show me your tickets!" - in an aggressive and offensive tone. Finally, after I was able to produce my tickets, he proceeds to start counting seats and demanding that the couple next to us comply with the same instructions. After looking at all our tickets, he became confused because there was an overlap in our seats (two of us had a ticket for seat 10). He then proceeded to tell us to get up and follow him out of the theater. After leaving the theater in his confused and frantic state, the man finally figured out that we had accidently sat in the wrong row. At this point, he tried to "comfort" us by telling us it was okay and people sit in the wrong seats accidently all the time. This really rubbed me the wrong way because he acted like we were the only ones in the wrong. I will admit that we were in the wrong seats unintentionally; however, the way he treated us and the automatic accusation was off-putting. After he dragged us from the theater, I expected an apology, not an offer of forgiveness. I am not sure if he has a negative outlook on all of humanity, or if he simply thinks Cheyenne residents are trying to sneak into theaters and steal other customers' seats. If the owner treats customers this way, I do not even want to imagine how the employees who do not have a vested interest in the business treat people. So, if comfy seats are worth being harassed and missing part of the movie when the owner decides to drag you out and interrogate you, then go Capitol. However, you better pray to God that you do not accidently sit in the wrong place. If he had been respectful and asked, "Sir, may I please see your tickets? It looks like you may be sitting in the wrong seat," I would have had no issues. However, shining a light in my face and demanding, "Show me you tickets!" repeatedly is not the way to do business. Respect for others is an underrated quality. read more

Average small town movie theatre. Seats do not rock or recline and were moderately comfortable. The arms do rise so you can snuggle up close to the one you brought to the movie. Average choices for food. Nachos are a bag of Tostitos chip and warm cheese. Ticket price was $9 a person, for an evening show. Just seemed a tad high. Food is also expensive, but what movie theatre isn't these days? The whole building had a funny smell to it and there was quite a bit of popcorn on the floors (not swept regularly). The management was very rude. It's a middle aged man, who accosted me for bringing a water bottle into the theater. He made me open and reveal all of my pockets before allowing me to go into the theater, along with my friends. When he saw my water bottle, he stated I couldn't bring it into the theater. I asked him if I could pour it out and fill it up with the free water fountain, and he said no. So, in order to watch a movie with my family, I had to throw my water bottle away. I would suggest not going here, as the snacks are more expensive than the tickets and the chairs are uncomfortable in addition to monster loud management. read more
