Luckily our friends had scored a table for six and we had somewhere decent to sit. Two of us shared a pizza and a bottle of red wine as we listened to an artist singing and playing the piano. All very good. Although tasty, the pizza was a tad expensive. The staff were excellent.

I had previously mentioned the acoustics being good, they are in fact quite terrible. Throughout all the shows I've been to here, the sounds I here are 50% the band on stage and 50% the audience chattering through the entire show. The venue would be much better if they could somehow make the sound from the audience not reflect back onto the crowd from every angle. To the people who pay $20-35 for concert tickets: please stop yelling, chattering, and regaling stories of your life throughout the entire set. Why the hell did you buy the tickets in the first place if you didn't come to listen to the show?

The reason I have reviewed this 3/5 and not 5/5 is because of the customer service and their VIP services. Every single time I get tickets to a concert whether it be on a VIP experience website or on their ticket site I always have problems except if I order through Ticketmaster. The problems include getting these tickets, the staff being uneducated in the concert going on and many other problems through the years I have went here. The VIP experience here was absolutely horrible compared to how other venues handle their VIP ticket holders. I waited outside forever waiting to get in, in -28 weather and then after actually getting in and meeting the band we were thrown out of the venue. That had stopped me from buying VIP tickets again because I had heard other people's stories on how they were handled the exact same way. All in all the quality of musical acts they get are fantastic and the venue is in great shape. The staff is usually nice, and I do plan on going back once they get another good band.

The nachos were excellent and thoroughly enjoyed. They came with all the right mix of condiments and we're devoured with much gusto. The service was average but at least friendly. The venue was average and they had a stage for lovers of music, which they have on the weekends.

I had a chance to meet him recently with a couple of friends and he wowed us with his energy and enthusiasm and his plans for the season that starts in September. I attended last year's concerts (at least the Masters and Chamber series) and even though I don't know classical music all that well, the sound of the orchestra was terrific and emotional. The last concert of the season, with Puerto Rican tenor Fernando Varela, was unbelievable. This guy is on his way to huge stardom and it's doubtful we'll see him on a Saskatoon stage again. The thing is, the SSO is about great music, entertainment, and an evening of fun. The orchestra has never played better and the events that the SSO has planned according to their website are going to be even more unique and fun than the ones I experienced last season.
