My boss had a terrible surgery and was on a considerable amount of pain killers. I went here to get him something to allergists the pain without having to get a marijuana card. They have candy actually caramels that worked great for him. The young Mandy that helped us was quite knowledgeable and they seem to be committed to helping people to stop or at least use less opioids. They have other things as well for baking and sorts and they are all very patient at answering questions from a novice such as myself. read more

The staff is very rude to their customers. The first time I visited Capital Hemp was about 5 yrs ago at there satellite store in China town which shut-down a few years ago. I had went there to purchase a small wooden pipe similar to my old one, which had served me so well in the past but was broken. To ensure I get the right one, I brought the pipe with me to the store. When I showed the Capital Hemp employee the pipe I was looking for, he got very irate and immediately told me to leave his store because it "smelled like weed". I left his store respectively and never returned. They shut-down about a year or two later. Again, that was roughly 4-5 years ago when Capital Hemp shutdown in DC. Today I discovered they had reopened in Adams Morgan. So since I needed a measuring scale and was told by an employee that they had some in stock I decided to give them a second chance and go there. So I called the store around 420pm to see if they were still open...I was told by the employee that the store was still open and would be open for another 1.5 hrs (till 6pm). I arrived there around 5:15pm. When I approached the door there was two other customers standing there, only to discover the door LOCKED, a "CLOSED" sign posted, and capital hemp employee walking around inside ignoring us as though we weren't even there. The impression I got was that they really dont care about there customers or acquiring there business. But no worries...I wont be giving Capital Hemp a 3rd chance. I went to an online site and got a weigh scale much cheaper than what the Capital Hemp employee quoted me over the phone. So thanks for being so rude Capital Hemp...as a result, I found what I wanted much cheaper only without the rudeness and lies! read more

I came here a couple weeks ago looking for a jewelers loupe. An older looking guy informed me that they had just ordered some and to expect em in 7-10 days, but i went back a few times after and they never had it. When i went and asked, some younger looking white guy was really rude about it. I don't think it was just a coincidence bc I saw him once before that when i came in and he didn't say anything to welcome or acknowledge me and avoided make eye contact and it was really weird for no reason. Everyone else there is pretty chill, theres a really nice young woman who works here but i must say i was quite underwhelmed by their selection of papers. They have some hemp apparel, grinders and glass pieces, but not really a big selection. I didnt pay much attention to their glassware and stuff, but Id say most of their stuff is moderately overpriced ( its not insane, but if you know what you want you could probably find most everything for at least a quarter less than what theyre asking) Pretty underwhelming honestly read more

I came into the store to buy an e cig battery for my pre-loaded thc cartridges. I'm used to paying 8-12 for these. When I visit capitol hemp they tell me their prices range from 20-35 but that they are "way better". Come to find out the batteries they have don't even work with my cartridges. When I ask them about it their answer "we don't accept returns". I can't even use your overpriced product and I can't return it? This place is a total sham. I have been in a number of times, and to there old locations as well as The Noon and this establishment many times. Customer Service is pretty meh at this location, there old one was awesome (Chinatown was my favorite.) It is horrendous here. I called them, asked if they had a specific piece I needed. They said yes, I asked to double check, they said it was absolutely in stock. When I arrived, nope, not there. No solutions, no other options. Oh did I mention that when I told them I went across town, not even a sorry. I even spent $150 on this current trip. But I will not go back. Amazon has cheaper papers and grab and go accessories. In terms of customer service, Horrible. Did I mention there mark up is outrageous. A simple google while in the store will show you that. There glass is beyond expensive and the selection is terrible. Like really bad. Pieces that are 200% more expensive than another reputable site online. read more

Life long DC resident and Capitol hemp just lost any and all future business from me. I tried to return a DEFECTIVE BROKEN product and they wouldn't even issue store credit, and yes I had my receipt. They make you feel like an idiot and clearly they aren't interested in providing satisfactory customer service. Sorry not sorry. This Adams Morgan store does not post their return policy which I find out after the fact my unused glassware was not returnable..but he'd give me a discount on something else....really? ! My money won't be spent at this or any affiliated store. Just because it's cannabis doesn't mean it's cool. To be sure I'll be checking DC code for return policy posting. read more

After calling Capitol Hemp to get help troubleshooting a Blazer GT 8000 torch that suddenly stopped igniting for me I spoke w/ an employee named Carlton. I sensed he was immediately going into a prepared defensive reply by saying I should contact the manufacturer. That seems appropriate but what was disagreeable is how he seemed to get defensive about it. Like, too bad, we got your money, now deal w/ it on your own! No friendly banter about YouTube vids on troubleshooting ideas or even sharing of his own personal experience. Just a quick distancing on his behalf regarding my concerns w/ a former purchase. Now if you don't know that's one thing. But short-shrifting me by saying "Contact the manufacture." is just UNFRIENDLY! Another case in point, when I also mentioned that I purchased a can of their Whip-It Premium Butane for the Blazer Torch he immediately replied, "Oh we haven't used that brand in a while." as if there was something wrong with it. I ask you, how can I continue to do business at Capitol Hemp when they have repeatedly shown me their defensive attitude about customer service? I mean, just read the other 4 (not recommended & so hidden) reviews about Capitol Hemp on Yelp! They all say the same thing! Your customer service SUCKS! In their defense, I'm sure they've been burned numerous times by unhappy customers who've wised-up to their blind-spot on this matter & so have had to develop a thicker skin w/ this defensive posture. That surely must loose them repeat business if reviews here on Yelp are mostly saying the same thing. But please, this is an easy fix & involves retraining employees to communicate a bit better. To wit: I've also had a previous problem w/ Carlton. When he didn't like the way I was flexing a particular item wrapped in plastic, albeit in flexible packing, I was told to stop damaging the product. IMHO, this is some pissy-unfriendly shit! It is my belief, after repeated visits there, that they aren't too concerned about repeat business or even improving customer service because people are walking-in there all the time. But really, who cares if you fix this 'cause you guys are done gett'n my business. If I see Capitol Hemp at an event you will be ignored no matter how many free edibles your dolling out. So thanks Carlton, for showing your true colors. I'll be doing my shopping on Amazon from now on. I'm sure your boss will thank you for loosing another customer! read more

The owner is always in a bad mood... lets just be honest he is an a$$ hole. One would think that a pot smoker would be more friendly. Also, don't buy any electronics, I bought a vaporizer and it wouldn't charge, I tried to return it for a replacement 2 days later and was told "you have to deal with the manufacturer" and he did so with a shitty attitude.
