This florist did an awesome job for my brothers wedding and formal reception dinner. They were recommended to my by a work colleague and I was told that they decades of experience providing floral arrangements for wedding events like ours. Since floral arrangements was my responsibility, I wanted to do it right. I met with a very friendly employee, and I think she was one of the Managers because of the professional way that she handled my request. She asked me things that ai didn't even think about. They have so many options and packages to choose from, and each package had its own price point. The wedding doesn't happen for about another month, but I am already 100% confident that they will bring beauty and excellent results for my brother's wedding. read more

I have yet to have a bad experience with this company! I normally help my Dad order the flowers for my Mom for special occasions (Valentines, Birthday, etc.) and they have yet to disappoint. I will definitely continue using their services. read more

I have ordered now twice in a month. They have done an amazing job both times. I live in California and I like to order directly from the florist. I googled and found this shop. I took a chance with the first order, since I have never stepped foot in their shop. Well that order was awesome, so for my second order... they did amazing as well! I'll be back for a third and so on... read more

My experience was okay, with a few hiccups. I ordered a bouquet online for a party, scheduled the following week at 11:30. 1. On their website, I picked the earliest pick-up time, which was 10:00 - not very early. 2. I received a confirmation email that had the correct information, but then I received a second, less professional confirmation email that had my pickup time as 11:00. I called to ask what had happened and they said 10:00 is when they receive the order but 11:00 is when it would be ready for pickup. Maybe I missed this explanation on their website, but the first confirmation email definitely made this more confusing than it needed to be. 3. When I went to pick the bouquet up, the florist said "11:30, right?" which of course was both incorrect and alarming considering the proximity to the start of the party. HOWEVER, the florist finished the bouquet quickly, and while the flowers weren't perfect, it was lovely and smelled wonderful. Flowers are part of nature and nature is unpredictable and imperfect. She asked how I would be carrying it and wrapped the base in plastic, tissue paper, and heavy cardboard. The business is also located basically in the same building as the metro stop, which is very very convenient. Something I want to note though is that I had no issue with the florist's personality. I may have had a different person than the other reviewers but for me she was fine, nothing more or less. read more

This place is the Worst!! They do not deserve 1 star. Martha was very rude. My delivery is a day late and now they say that I still have to wait until tonight to receive my order. Martha lied and said that they contacted me and then implied (threatened) that if I did not let her get off the phone, my order would not be received until tomorrow (next day) read more

They didn't seem to want my business. I walked down to the shop to discuss with them two items I wanted them to assemble for a friend's bridal shower. I arrived on Monday, around 11:30 a.m. (during their posted business hours), and the store was shuttered. I called the business number and explained to the lady what I was looking for -- she quoted me a price that was VERY high, and then went on to pedantically explain at length why I couldn't have some of the flowers or ribbons I wanted. She also explained that they needed at least 48 hours to assemble the corsage I was requesting (I had given 24). She spoke very quickly and she seemed exasperated with me. She invited me to come BACK to the shop later in the day when someone would be in. I figured I had already shown up there once, and she didn't seem to enjoy working with me. I called House of Flowers, and the experience was the EXACT OPPOSITE. "Sure, we can do that for you. Yes, we can make that part of the arrangement..." I ordered from them, instead. They're delivering tomorrow a.m. Wish me luck. read more

Thank you very much for sending an exquisite arrangement to my sister in my behalf. She loves it and it's still beautiful and lush. My Mom said, " it's the most beautiful floral arrangement she's ever seen! " I've used other companies like Proflowers for example and have been so disappointed with the poor quality of the flowers they delivered. And when I bring it to their attention there were no apologies but an offer to reduce the price on my next order. It was laughable that they thought I'd use them again. So now I do my research on local businesses and end up with a gem such as yourselves. Your arrangement is extraordinary, full, colorful, and just as described. Thank you very much and I'll be sure to recommend you to all my friends! read more

My boyfriend ordered me a bouquet from here for Valentine's Day and JUST two days later, they're already wilting. They actually started yesterday, but I just rotated the vase to not look at the 1-2. Before you ask, No, they are not in direct sunlight. I checked the flower stems this morning as more are wilting and they are cut so short that they don't reach the water. I believe they were meant to survive off of the solution in the foam, but Valentine's day was just 2 days ago... I didn't expect this to happen so fast. I typically can keep flowers alive and well for at least a week. Overall, quite underwhelmed and disappointed with this bouquet. Just adding, we actually called Capitol Florists. They said this bouquet only lasts 3-4 days, so they must have had these flowers prepared and out 1-2 days before delivery as they started dying the following day. They should have the life expectancy in the description. read more

Ordered a "deluxe" flower arrangement of tulips for my wife's birthday, which cost around $100. The arrangement that showed up was very disappointing and underwhelming. It looked like it was just thrown together last minute. While very appreciative, my wife commented that I could have done better by simply going to Safeway. I try to support local businesses but it's very hard when they put little effort into their product. read more

I don't visit the florist often so I don't have anything to compare Capitol Florist to. When I need flowers or a nice small plant for a gift, they are always accommodating. They have cute little pots for the plants and always decorate your purchase with a nice little ribbon. I always have a good experience and usually never spend less than $25. This shop is small and usually has about 2 friendly faces working there at a time. read more

My fiancé ordered flowers for me for International Women's Day and paid extra for them to be delivered on time. They were delivered late and ruined the surprise. When he called to talk to customer service to get an explanation why they were delivered late, the manager, Ram was extremely rude, not understanding and demanded to know his address and even threatened him when my fiancé asked for a refund. The manager also called him "crazy'." I do not recommend this florist and unfortunately, they have lost 2 new customers. read more

After finishing our tour at the US Capitol, we needed to buy flowers to bring to Arlington National Cemetery. Capitol Florist was the nearest location for us. Capitol Florist is located where the Small Business Administration building is. You know, the place where tourist line up to visit. The Florist is located near Gold's Gym. It was hard to find at first, but we are tourist in D.C., we always get lost! When we got there, the business was closed for lunch. My wife called them and Maria answered. We informed Maria what we needed and she said that she would be able to make a quick bouquet for us once she got back. So we went to lunch and about 30 minutes later we came back. Maria was able to quickly get our bouquet assembled, watered, wrapped and ready to go in 10 minutes. Maria did a fantastic job and the bouquet was beautiful. We were quite pleased with our experience at Capitol Florist. Maria was very helpful and knowledgeable with what types of flowers to use. When we come back to D.C. to buy flowers, we will be back and visit Capitol Florist. read more

Tucked away next to the Golds Gym by Federal Center Metro, this florist seems to be more geared to Telaflora orders than walk in type purchases. That said, I stopped in for a quick bouquet for my wife and have no complaints. Picked out my stems and the woman who assisted me did a very nice job arranging and wrapping the flowers for travel. Prices were very reasonable. read more

I've been using this family owned business for years and they have always come through in a pinch. Flowers are fresh, prices are reasonable and more. I live out-of-state and called Capitol Florist for a same-day delivery of flowers for a family member's birthday. I had already called two different florists before I found Capitol, and they either couldn't make the delivery that day or wanted to charge an outrageous delivery fee. When I called Capitol to make sure they could make the delivery, they assured me that they could and directed me to their website to place my order. The website was easy to use and helped me place my order quickly and correctly. I called to confirm that my order had gone through and they told me that I was good to go! Capitol Florist - Beautiful flowers delivered for a birthday! - Florists Near Me - Washington, DC, District of Columbia

Great service, beautiful flowers, would definitely recommend!

Very pleased with arrangements ,value and prompt delivery , I'll recommend to anyone without any hesitation!!

They're open later than other florists, pretty quick and efficient but definitely on the pricey side!

The most rude and arrogant business owner I have ever encountered. Do not I repeat do not go there! Bad selection of flowers. Mostly dead and what a rude establishment! The owners wife Martha talks to you like you are trash and has no patience. They act like they are doing you a favor and could care less about your business. She actually said "people are cheap". I just spent 400$ in roses and Lillys at another nearby location ... so the jokes on her. There are way better florist in this area. Don't waist your time! And never spend your money where you are insulted. read more

I never write Yelp reviews, but I had to say something about my awful experience with this business. They did not deliver my arrangement to my mom for Mother's Day. When I called to inquire, the woman was nothing but rude. She told me she would call me back, and she never did. Each time I had to call to get to the bottom of this, she got more and more impatient and did not believe me when I said that the flowers were not delivered. Offered no other explanation or help. Terrible customer service, really poor experience, and I will never bring my business there. Don't waste your time or money. read more

I ordered a little garden arrangement in a glass cylinder from here to be delivered to my boyfriend on his birthday. My boyfriend wasn't home when they went to his house so they held on to the delivery. I called them for a status update the next morning and they happily offered to deliver the gift to his place of employment instead, free of charge. I thought that was very generous. My only complaint is that there isn't any type of email address on their website (maybe there is and I just missed it). Also, I only learned that the delivery hadn't been completed because I took the initiative to call them. Maybe in the future, they could email customers if a delivery is delayed for any reason. Overall, very pleased with their service! read more

I needed flowers for my daughter's courthouse wedd.ing right after the Christmas holidays. However I needed something special but not over-the-top expensive. Mary was the person I worked with from Cali who showed me what I wanted, then what I could afford then she compromised something that was elegant, looked liked all I wanted at a price that fit my budget. She did a beautiful job and the flowers turned out just perfect. The company is responsible, reliable and the floral arrangements are perfect. They took the time to customize exactly what I needed and were flexible in how they got them to us. I will use this service again and I'm strongly recommending them for the great job they did on this important date for our family read more

I put in an order for delivery of flowers and chocolates to my wife's workplace on 1/23/2018. Her workplace closes at 3pm so I requested delivery before noon. Today, on Valentines day, it is 2:45 and I had not received any kind of confirmation of delivery so I called the shop. The girl answering the phone tells me "We have a window between 1000am and 4:30pm" I explain that there will be no one there to receive after 3pm and I had specified delivery before noon. She says "We have a window between 1000am and 4:30pm" like an effin recording. I ask her name and she says Jennifer. I ask for a manager and she says there are none, then they are busy. After a few rounds of this I say I need to cancel the order. She again needs my phone number that she cannot remember more than 3 digits at a time. I have used this shop several times in the past and had decent service but now never again. read more

If I could give a negative star I would. I ordered flowers from this company DIRECTLY through their website for a funeral.
