In town visiting my son for a week. Sitting around, with the number of pawn shops in the area, wanted to check out some for a special need. I have cancer, my chemo makes my fingernails break with minimal pressure. Extremely painful, wanted a small pocket knife that would be easy to open/close. The staff was extremely helpful and pointed me to a very good reliable knife, though a bit larger than I wanted but felt good for what I needed it for. Have done business with Capital City Loans in the past twice and have been satisfied with their professionalism and service. Today I took canteen of fines French Silver to sell or pawn. The Hispanic woman that waited on me was an insult to work with. She was argumentative about every sentence including who the owner of the store is. She was totally uninformed and inexperienced and treated me as if I was stupid and beneath her. What happened to the knowledgeable and polite crew that was there 3 years ago? Sure the place was well stock but these guys over price their jewelry specifically on 10 karat gold rings I wouldn't pay 500 dollars on a ring that weighted 7 grams i resold it got back only 160 for it honestly I would go Carson Jewelry and Loan at least you can negotiate with those guys down there but with these guy nothing but rudeness but of assholes just like the tripe AAA pawn shop last time I should've known better well live and learn read more

These are good people and stocked with a lavish inventory I was treated very good by the staff and I know I will be a returning customer.

I am a long-time resident of this area, I would not recommend this store to the female manager, she is the most unprofessional person that I have ever dealt with. The hours of operation changed to accommodate themselves not the customers. Disappointed and will never walk thru those doors again, should have never left Carson Loan and Jewelry they treat you like family over there and would never steal your items based on passive-aggressive management styles. read more

Gotta be the largest Pawn Shop I've ever seen, lots of stuff to look at jewelry, tools, guns, bikes, cars, boats and much much more. You never know what your gonna find here! They have this room in the back with all kinds of tools. We came here a few years back and got a few toolboxes full of misc tools. It's always fun to see what treasures you might find. They are negotiable on all the marked prices too so come get yourself a deal. The employees are there to help you and will answer all the questions you might have. Every time I come to Reno I have to go to Carson City to the best pawn shop I know. They have so much stuff to look at: from Jewelry which is my favorite of course, books, records, tv, computers, tools, guns etc. Everyone is so helpful and very friendly. What a bunch a jerks. They sell items on eBay and when they don't get the money they wanted they cancel the transactions. Now they are avoiding all my emails and won't explain why they cancelled my order. I don't recommend them to anyone. CAUTION BUY AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!!!! read more

Worst place to go in Carson.. We went in one day to sell a chocolate diamond bracelet in 14 carot gold.. We went in and she told us it was stamped 14 carots but was really 10... Yeah no. She offered us $250.. Went to another pawn shop and the man offered us $650 off the bat.. And told us it was definitely a 14 carot gold bracelet.. I cannot believe not only the price difference but the fact the woman also had no idea what she was taking about. Will never go back. read more

Great little gem here. Lots of stuff, not just cheap thrift store stuff either. Beautiful jewelry selection, tons of guns and ammo, even have quads and dirt bikes. I always stop in when I am in the area and usually end up buying stuff. If you haven't gone you should check it out. read more

Took a gun in to trade it for another. Was told I would clear. They took old gun in trade, then after waiting for paperwork, they turned down the sale. When I went to get my old gun back, they refused saying that they "bought it" from me and that I'd have to fill out paperwork to get it back, which they again denied. So basically they stole the gun. After numerous complaints they told me literally that I was "S**T out of luck and it was their gun now and leave the store". the state claimed they didn't deny me, it was the store's choice to do so. (I purchased another gun from another shop that day with the paperwork being approved on the spot). These guys are outright crooks and will rip off anyone if the item is something they really like. read more
