The hernia doctor, who was finishing her preparations, was confused, but Dr. Pike provided no explanation. Shocked and upset, I immediately broke down crying. I booked a follow up appointment a week later, during which Dr. Pike told me she had chosen to cancel my surgery at the last minute because my life was not in order and my (documentably treated and stable) depression was not sufficiently stabilized. This not being her field of expertise, I suggested she contact my psychiatrist, but she declined. Dr. Pike's bedside manner was atrocious. She was rude, abrupt, disparaging, and in my opinion, wholly unprofessional. As many other reviewers have pointed out, her behavior toward patients is alarming, to say the least. Their experiences of being discriminated against remind me of my own. Fortunately I found an excellent surgeon in Temple to perform the surgery, Dr. Samuel Lance, whom I highly recommend. I would suggest never using Dr. Pike due to her discriminatory lack of professionalism and compassion for her patients.

Very competent, very cordial, remembered me, etc. Overall it was a really positive experience and my recovery was much easier than I had anticipated! The nurses are kind and empathetic and competent and educated. My rheumatologist, Dr. Rahmani, is exceptional. I trust him and I can be confident that he has my best interest in heart and he does not push medication I don't wanna take and he listens to me, while at the same time, looking out for what's best for my health. A major compliment to his practice is that he is always looking at the long-game when it comes to quality of life for his patients. He is also one of the few doctors in his field who will actually talk with you and answer questions about current and future issues until you are well informed and satisfied. While not the most talkative or easy going specialist you will ever encounter, he puts in the time and has truly built his practice around the patient and their unique needs. He also will always recommend that his patients get a second opinion in order to obtain a balanced perspective on recommended procedures and follow-up care and activities. I've lived with a chronic disease for over half of my life and have seen several physicians in this discipline. By far, Doctor Jahadi has spent the most time with me and has been the most genuinely concerned with my long-term health. Having medical issues is not a fun thing in life, but if you are someone in need of care in this field, you can't do better than this professional. What you sacrifice in office glamour and 15-minute 'appointments' is trivial compared to having a balanced view and plan of action for the remainder of your life with someone who actually cares.

When you walk in to register there is a huge lobby area, very nicely decorated, where you can sit and wait. We found a parking spot out front but if there are none available you can drive around back to the parking garage and both are free. After about a five minute wait, they came to get me and take me back and everything looked very neat and clean in the rooms. I will say that my injection was about 45 minutes late but I think that's more on the doctor than the surgical center. The nurses and the rest of the staff were all very friendly and joked around with me, which makes the experience that much better. Overall, I think that facility is very nice and I would not hesitate to go there again for any type of procedure!

The third time I called, I told the receptionist I was very unhappy about not having any calls returned and that I wanted to leave a message for Dr. Valastro specifically. She sent me to what sounded like an unmanned voicemail and I got no call back. My PCP called Dr. Valastro's office after I complained to her about it and her office told me they didn't get a response from him or his nurse either. Ironically, I called to cancel my appointment and let them know I'm switching to a doctor who will help me and their system hung up on me after about 10 seconds. A doctor (and nurses) who aren't there to answer any questions or help me find and correctly use assistive devices they prescribe are not worth seeing in my book.
