This laundromat is HORRIBLE. The place is always crawling with bums who travel in and out of the place trying to sell you things, they lock the restroom, there are almost always machines out of order, and worst of all: the staff is rude, they speak poor English, and they steal your money! I put in money into a drying machine that was not labeled as dysfunctional and the machine took my money. I reported this to the staff and asked for a refund. She refused to give me one, saying that the machine wasn't giving her a sign that any money had been entered. Then she asked me to put in more of my money into the dubious machine in front of her so that she could watch. I refused and dismissed her, because I didn't see why I had to take any more gambles with my money. I will never be going there again. read more

Cheap and clean (at least when I was there, at 4:00 am), and always an attendant on service. Top-loaders are $1.50, front-loaders are $2.00, $2.50, $4.50, and $5.50. Dryers are $0.25 for 8 minutes! Laundry service is $0.85 per pound. Single-use laundry products are $0.75, as are cans of Coke and bottled water. There is a bathroom but it doesn't lock. One small sink, but no big laundry sink. Lots of tables, but only three benches and not enough carts. Two change machines. A few TVs on different channels. No WiFi, but you may be able to pick up the signal from the McDonald's two doors down. You may see a shouting match or two, which may be just as entertaining. read more

The staff was very helpful. I was using the machine and it malfunction. When I expressed to her that the machine stole my money, she did not believe me. I have no reason to lie about 25¢. She is very unhelpful. The professional is died. I will no longer patronize this location. read more

It's a laundrymat, and there isn't much you can do to stand out among the other laundrymats. Like most laundrymats I've patronized, there will be some machines that don't work, some dryers that don't get hot, some washers that don't spin. Most of the time the change machine will be out of service but there's never a line more than a minute. There are always going to be crying children and unsavory types with attitude problems coming airing their issues. But for the most part, there are a ton of washers and dryers and if you go over the weekend just after the Redskins game ends, you'll be in and out in an hour. They have detergent and dryer sheets, albeit at prices borderline price-gouging levels. there's a vending machine and an ATM that dishes out smaller denominations than $20. The staff do a good job consistently cleaning the place up. The bathroom is locked so it's not a complete cesspool. There's ample parking in a city where parking is premium. There's TVs though getting them to turn the channel isn't going to happen. There are enough stations to fold your clothes though sometimes the children use them as jungle gyms. Overall, though, I've been going there every week for over a year without any thoughts of going anywhere else. It's 24 hours so no need to rush to it. Later isn't necessarily better, though, if you go late Sunday with the rest of the procrastinators. And since it's next door to a McDonald's and across the street from a shopping center (Hechinger Mall) with a Modell's, Ross, RadioShack and a bunch of other stores, you don't have to sit idle while waiting for your clothes to finish. read more

To be totally fair, I was here at, like, 1 pm on a Saturday afternoon: prime laundry time. (What can I say? My washer broke and the clothes needed to get washed). So it was crowded (to be expected) and it was dirty (to be expected) and not the most pleasant use of a weekend afternoon (ditto). But the attendant was, um, attentive and the other patrons were friendly and respectful and it got the job done. read more

My washer and dryer unit was broken when I moved into my new apartment so I Yelped for the nearest option and Capitol Laundromat is what came up. Pleasantly surprised! Really cheap. Capitol Laundromat is old school, it only takes coins. However, they have an ATM on-site that dispenses dollars bills (rather than 10's/20's etc) and a coin machine. Convenient! My washer got stuck closed but the woman that works there quickly came over and pushed the machine; the door opened automatically. No wifi, no air-conditioning, but super cheap. Recommend. read more

If it were possible to give this place 0 stars then I would. For starters it is located in NE and clearly only seek to attract customers of a lower socioeconomic status. I recently moved to this neighborhood and this place goes to show that they just throw the poor and black any raggedy thing. The place is just kept in an awful state. It's dirty, has leaking washers, washers that just don't work, and an attendant who does not care. I went to wash two loads of towels at $2.50 a load. When I showed the attendant that one of the washers was not working properly she tried to make excuses and did not offer to reimburse me or help in anyway. If I could shut this laundromat down I would. Before my yelp review I searched to report them to the BBB but of course they aren't registered. If you can go to another laundromat I highly suggest that you do. People and their money are not values here. read more

This place isn't bad and is the best option for those of us living around here. The drop off laundry service is CHEAP and they do a great job. They even make sure to use the dye & scent-free detergent I provide. As for using the laundromat itself, it's decent but a functional A/C would help and there are a few creeps who like to watch you grab your unmentionables out of machines. Overall it's inexpensive and 24 hours. You can't really beat that around here. Just make sure you use the restroom before you get there. read more

This is one of the worst laundromats in D.C. For starters half the washers aren't working. In 80 and 90 degree weather the A.C nor ceiling fans are working. You have very careless employees. Not sanitized when it definitely should be due to COVID-19. This place needs to be shut down. If you can't treat the people right, then you shouldn't receive business. If you can avoid this laundromat then please and do yourself a favor!!!!!!! read more

this is my favorite laundromat I live in the area and have been going there for a number of years however since the coronavirus outbreak the laundromat has been completely closed when I call to get information no one answers the phone so I hope they'll be back in the neighborhood soon read more

Unfortunately this is the laundromat for H St NE corridor. Many things going on here...Staff is nice and friendly. This is a place for things sold "hot"...Bootleg tapes....you name it someone is selling it! Shooting in January during daytime in front of patrons man gunned down! Last week my wife was there in the morning and around 10 AM a car comes thru the front door and window. Now we have no laundromat! So watch your back 24/7 360 degrees...keeping it 100 %! read more

I been using this place for full service for years and they loose your clothes, especially underwear, all the time. I know cuz I always end up with stuff in myy bag I've never seen before. Like baby sock, and boxers draws and pillow cases that don't belong to me. I'm sure someone has my stuff by now too. read more

pretty decent for a public laundry mat place. It's clean, has tons of working washers/dryers, has a drop off service if you want them to do your laundry, has a few parking spots, soda machine, laundry detergent machine, change machine.... it gets pretty hot inside but it's a laundry place... what do you expect? read more

I'm quite happy with this place because there are comfortable seats you can use while waiting for your laundry to be done. I always go every Saturday which would be a busy day for any laundromat, but so far I didn't really have a problem. read more

this place is a mess the Spanish people don't clean the dryer to take the lit out and when use lose money they don't give it back they have people selling all type of stolen good it need to be shut down. read more
