24-Hour Speedwash Laundromat - My clothes with soap in them after the machine was restarted twice now.

24-Hour Speedwash Laundromat

I was in a serious debacle trying to wash clothes in my own building that I had to google this…read moreplace because I wanted to try it specifically. From the outside it appears to be clean, inviting, and never busy. Once I arrived, it was very clean, smelled good, organized, excellent service from the staff, and it was very spacious. Bonus to this place is that it is not coin operated. You will need to purchase a laundry card and add the funds . . . how neat! In hindsight the machine in my building not working saved me from walking up & down the steps and only doing 2 loads at a time. I arrived at 11 and was back home by 1:35 and that was after washing, folding, putting clothes in bag, and walking to the carry-out and liquor store. I might ditch the convenience of washing clothes again in my building and go to the neighborhood laundry mat and get it done much faster!

I came here today (8/30/25) to do laundry at around 11:30pm and the man that was here working was…read morevery disrespectful. I had put my clothes in the machine, put my soap, put my card in and went to push start and the machine was giving an error that the water was low and it wouldn't let me start the machine. I went to call the guy for help and I said hello to him, he didn't say anything back. I went to the machine and he followed me and tried to start it but it didn't work so he restarted the machine. He then walked away from me not saying anything so I kept saying "excuse me, excuse me" and he just kept walking. He finally turned around and I asked him was he going to refund me the money the card took, he said that was what he was going to do....WHY DIDN'T YOU SAY ANYTHING THEN?? He came back and restarted the machine and it was still giving the same error message. He then told me to move my clothes to a different machine and I was trying to explain to him that I already put the soap in the machine and he just kept repeating "move it to another machine then proceed to yell at me "what did I say!?" and that I don't listen and started pulling his ear while yelling at me that I don't listen. That was utterly rude...I am not his child and there was no reason for him to get loud and disrespectful with me.

Laundry World - Washing machines $3.50 for a small washer load. It has a time count down, so you know how long your load will take

I have passed by this business regularly for many years but only found myself in need of their…read moreservice this week. I was really impressed by how well this place was run. I had seen a couple of positive reviews on yelp but I was still a bit apprehensive about whether the place would be very clean ... the place is spotless. An older Asian man (possibly the owner) and a younger Hispanic? woman were working while I was there. They were constantly walking around, checking on all of the machines. I saw them both cleaning and wiping surfaces and the woman also climbed up on a step stool to clean the dispenser above the washer where the detergent and other items are poured in. They both were friendly and responsive. Getting quarters was convenient. They also have a small store with lots of cleaning related items but I did not check it out. There are carts that seem to be of similar quality to grocery carts. One minor peeve was that the dryer seemed to eat up my quarters without registering any time on the dial. A young woman client took pity on me and showed me how to retrieve my money.

I haven't been in a laundromat in a VERY VERY VERY long time (there's a reason for this mention)…read more Instead of discarding a washable rug, I decided to try to clean it. Going in, I had NO idea what to do or what things would cost. A fellow customer advised me to use the extra large washers. I learned later that I added waaaaay too much cleanser. I could go on about my series of unfortunate events (doors not closing, suds everywhere, water on the floor- all user error), but I digress. With all of my angst and mishaps, at every turn, there was someone to assist me, and mostly without asking! There are vending machines, a television, a few arcade games, a store and a counter to purchase detergents. There are little separation areas to keep you from feeling overwhelmed. My rug didn't ring properly, so my drying time was well over 1.5 hours, but that was because of the padding on the rug. I'm here on a Sunday morning. It is not crowded. There were some language barriers, but that didn't stop the staff from eagerly coming over to help me. You guys know I appreciate exceptional customer service! My only criticism (and it's slight) is what's going on in each phase of the wash cycle is not clearly marked. I would return.

Wow. Just wow. I've been coming to this laundromat for five years and have always appreciated the…read morevariety of machines, convenient hours, and overall cleanliness. Unfortunately, today's experience completely changed my opinion. While doing laundry, I pulled out my laptop to do some work at one of the tables provided for customers. A staff member approached me and asked whether I was actually doing laundry because her boss had called specifically to ask about my partner and me. To be clear, I do not blame the attendant. It was obvious she was simply following instructions. Based on what I was told, it appears the owners were reviewing the security cameras and contacted her about us specifically. My issue is with how that situation was handled. I found the interaction insulting and uncomfortable. It felt like they assumed I was there simply to hang out and use the table rather than as a paying customer who was actively doing laundry. What made the experience even more upsetting was that I did not see staff question any other patrons in the same way. My partner and I were definitely in the minority at that location, which left me wondering whether we were singled out because we looked like we "didn't belong." Whether intentional or not, that was the message the interaction conveyed. If management is going to monitor customers through security cameras, they should at least conduct a thorough review before directing staff to confront patrons. A quick look would have shown that we were actively using multiple machines and were legitimate customers. Being questioned under those circumstances felt unnecessary and insulting. I was so upset by being unnecessarily targeted that I seriously considered leaving with soaking wet clothes and taking my business elsewhere. After five years as a loyal customer, this experience was extremely disappointing. Unfortunately, because of how this situation was handled, I will not be returning to this location.

Best part, they have Fast Cash Credit Card pay systems on the machine! We went all the way to Lanham, Maryland for their easy pay card machine, but it was always crowded! The one in college park was also extremely crowded as well
