When it was finally so utterly and completely dead that the needles were falling off, they sent one of their employees who proceeded to FERTILIZE and TREAT a DEAD TREE!! Disappointingly, but not surprisingly, the customer service has gone from bad to worse since the acquisition by SavATree. They keep sending spam emails and flyers and then fail to respond to every attempt to get them actually to come do any work, including services for which we have already paid. SavATree / Capital City Tree Experts are either incompetent to the point of negligence or just outright dishonest. read more

I have a beautiful Flowering Magnolia tree that had been infected with a scale parasite. The tree was near dying. I've tried for 3-4 years to kill the insect myself, but it never went away. I've spent at least $100 on chemicals, sprays and other treatments. I finally decided to call the pros. Mick cane over at a time convenient to me, was very knowledgeable, professional, yet friendly enough to have a conversation. He worked out a treatment plan, and said this is how it's gonna go. That was how it went, too. You can't treat this bug at any given time. It has to be when the insect is reproducing so you can kill a whole generation. It took 2-3 treatments like he said it would. This year, the tree really recovered nicely. The blooms were beautiful, and the neighbors even commented. Unfortunately, nature has other plans, and I noticed one branch has sprouted a few of the nasty little bugs. I called Cap City Trees, and they scheduled Mick to come out and have a look as soon as he can. I'm not upset at CCTE that the bugs came back. I would have been completely amazed if they hadn't. I am impressed how small the relapse is, and am fully confident it will be wipes out this time. read more

We had Capital take out a Box Elder that was growing into an overhead power line, was over a wooden fence, and leaned over our pool. I returned home to find only a stump -- I was unsure they'd get around the power lines without a problem and that nothing would fall into, or damage the pool -- and sure enough, no damage, no problem. Moreover, there was no lawn damage, no sawdust; only the short stump in the ground was the only evidence a tree was there early that morning. We had a cluster of cedar trees and some stumps that needed grinding, and our yard looks brand new after their clean up! The young men they have working for them, Ricky and Andy, are wonderful!! I had a next door neighbor getting their tree removed (yay!!! no more twirly birds!!) and they were so professional and careful of our property. I asked them if they could get rid of a small pile of tree limbs we had in our backyard from the last storm that passed through and they said they would send it through the wood chipper for us! Having a 7 month old baby, I have no time to go to the dump, so that was such a relief!!! They cleaned everything so well you wouldn't have even known they were here!! Had two trees evaluated by 3 different companies - one showed up and never quoted, and another wanted to charge double what Cap City Tree estimated. CCT were accurate both in the scheduling and in the time required to complete the work. They took down and rebuilt my fence before and after the work at no extra charge (unlike the other bid). They did all of the legwork with MG&E so I didn't have to (again, unlike the other bid), and even ground down another stump free of charge once they completed the contracted work. They left zero work for me to fix even with having two different pieces of heavy equipment across the property. Even my neighbor across the street complemented the crew and told me how professional they were. read more

Really impressed with them. I had a very large limb fall on my house and damage the roof. They came out for an estimate, and rearranged work to have the limb removed the next day. The crew of three were very Professional, safe, and answered all my questions. They carefully removed the limb without further damaging the roof (it was huge, 1 ft. diameter), got rid of all the material, and then blew off the roof leaving it cleaner than when they started. They even placed and secured tarps that I had purchased over the hole. Highly recommended! read more

We had an American Elm that seemed to develop weak foliage in the spring the past couple years. This year was no different except by early summer the tree was 3/4 bare. It was completely bare by the end of July. This tree towers over the house and should a limb break off it could cause serious damage. So we obtained several bids to remove it. CCTE was not the lowest bidder but it seemed affordable and they had the equipment to do the job. We had to wait several weeks but they were here on the day they said they would be. They explained what was going to happen. They were very professional and were very safe during 6 hours it took to take it down limb for limb. I was left with a 3 ft diameter trunk nearly flush with the ground. The stump grinder was out the following day. They did a great job grinding the stump well below ground level. They took precautions not to damage the edge of the driveway and lawn. All wood was chipped or hauled away and grinding removed. Topsoil was brought in to fill the hole where the trunk was and to level out depressions. They seeded and covered with straw. I am very happy I chose CCTE for this project. I would use them again and recommend to other. read more

Something's wrong at Capital City Tree. I needed some tree work and called the office. After a few missed appointments, a nice guy came over, looked around, sent a quote, and then went silent. No one ever responded, or got back to me, so that after a couple weeks I found another tree service. A big waste of my time (and theirs!) Makes no sense. read more

These folks were absolutely AMAZING! I had a huge Linden tree that was way too close to our house, and needed to go for safety and all the rediculous beetle poop from the Japanese Beetles in the summer. I called about four different companies for quotes. Right out of the chute, I was blown away with these guys as they came on-site (free) and brought with them a copy of their insurance coverage and policy. Class act. Because of this show of professionalism, I figured they would be way more expensive than the other quotes. Turns out they were the cheapest..........by far! Usually, if you take the cheapest bidder, one would expect to have to deal with a little slop. That's the most amazing part. These guys were awesome! They sent emails to keep me up to date on when they were coming and called the day before for any instructions. They were professional and listened to my concerns when they came on site too! I wanted to be careful of some new sod I had layed earlier in the fall, so I took down a section of fence, but was running late for work/school. The climber was awesome and finished taking down the section of fence for me. I had no expectation that they would put the fence back together as it was more a convenience for me, but they did anyways. Then they had a guy show up later that night to put some soil and seed in the divots they made from felling a large tree! What? I told the guy to go home and be with his family, but what amazing service. Bottom line, I will only go with these guys in the future and would recommend them to anyone! We had a large project with several trees to remove, prune and treat for various ailments. We had friends use Cap City in the past and they were very happy so we called them up. The entire process from start to finish was so easy. The person who answered the phone was very helpful and pleasant to speak with and she accommodated my schedule for initial meeting with Mick, the certified arborist. They were not the cheapest but in my past experience you get what you pay for.
