What a gift it was to work with Jamie at Cape Cod Celebrations as we planned my daughter's wedding. Always calmly and pleasantly answering any of our questions, giving us tips on how to handle various things that came up or guide us to some of the most amazing vendors. She had our backs through the whole thing. Wychmere also had us covered with a wonderful coordinator, but there were so many other details to navigate that fell outside of the venue --from buses, to floral logistics, welcome bags, welcome party, stationery, favors, signage and so much more. Plus we had access to the planning tools that kept us organized and even helped with the seating chart! As mother of the bride, I was able to relax and enjoy every moment of a truly magical ceremony. I highly recommend the Cape Celebrations team to any engaged couple!

I can not recommend Jamie and her team enough and wouldn't have changed one thing about our wedding weekend.

The Dennis Inn - Clam bake rehearsal dinner

    The Dennis Inn

My review is based on an event my husband and I attended at the Dennis Inn last week…read more We were invited to a pre-wedding dinner. The groom was the son of my lifelong friend who had passed away, and so it was very important for us to attend. Our issue was that my husband is in a wheelchair, and I didn't know if the Inn would be accessible. A few weeks before the event, I emailed the Inn to find out if my husband would be able to get to the dinner. A very nice person called me and assured me that they would make sure my husband could get to the dinner. He told me the Inn isn't necessarily accessible, but that they would make it happen. He then sent a text to the chef and the manager, and copied me on the text. I replied to that text when we were about to leave our hotel to head to Dennis. When we arrived, Chef Tom was waiting for us in the parking lot. He was nice as could be, and wheeled my husband through the kitchen and into the dining room. He situated us at a table, and though the dinner was buffet-style, he asked what we wanted and served us. The dinner was spectacular. We each had a whole lobster, and on our plates, were clams, sausage, potatoes, and there was a side of cornbread. Everything was absolutely delicious. There may have been dessert, but we were so full, I didn't look for it. When we were ready to leave, Chef Tom wheeled my husband back to the car. He was so kind and pleasant - it was a wonderful experience. These folks made the difference in our being able to attend the dinner or not and we are extremely grateful to them.

Having come from out of town and with lots to do we showed up at 9:30 rather than 9 AM. There was no one at the Inn to greet us and the venue was locked down. In their defense they had just replaced the screen door and thought that they had left it open for us. We waiting with building anxiety with 50 goodie bags, favors, programs and other assorted wedding decorations to set up in slightly more than an hour. The hair and makeup artists were to begin at 11:15. We were in a hot panic. The newly refurbished suite is charming, elegant and updated. It was a wonderful spot for photos and finding a zen moment when necessary. It was fresh, clean, and new. The staff is great if not overly apologetic for the oversight. I expected a bit more after the lockout from Fred who seemed inconvenienced by our anxiety as he threw a "We do this all the time" over his shoulder seemingly inferring that we were a bunch of hysterical ladies. Thanks to Susan and Irina they picked up where we left off, decorating and it did all come together to be an almost perfect event at a relatively affordable price. I will say that no one even mentioned to me the change of hands after my meeting with Brad in the fall. I had to google to find a news article after noticing certain changes on the website. Communication was often a bit spotty, but they did work with our guests, particularly the ones who had severe allergies. That was 5 star worthy. We had rave reviews from our guests regarding the Cape Cod Clambake and the catered barbecue rehearsal dinner. People were even asking Fred for his recipes. The setting truly is gorgeous. We had a bunny that lingered on the lawn while the ceremony took place and wild turkeys with babies trotted by as we celebrated in the tent at dinner. I would definitely choose the place again but if I did I would emphasize that I would be arriving between 9-10 rather than at 9. I suppose that if I had, I might have prevented some of the anxiety myself. For future brides, be clear about your plan with each of your vendors and hopefully it will save you a bit of heartache.

From 12 o'clock: Stringy, dry braised beef 'short ribs', very dry rice pilaf with a spoon of the beef sauce to moisten it up a little, flavorless, unseasoned butternut squash ravioli in browned butter with pepitas, exceedingly dry, unseasoned salmon with no sauce, gummy, pasty chicken part with a gluey, tasteless sauce and very tasty glazed carrots. The salt shaker did a lot of work on this meal. The crême brulée was nice. The room's ambiance was cold and sterile with no discernable decor. The podium on the riser was visible scratched, nicked and dinged. There was one bartender for 150+ guests and they were apparently short staffed. P.S. If you're planning an event there, beware. The food, service, and ambiance there sucks (in my personal, and formerly professional opinion).

I know this hotel has been undergoing changes and renovation so I will keep my eye on the reviews to see if anything improves. The good- the food. Lunch, dinner and breakfast were all buffet were to my surprise was pretty good. I had limited interactions with the staff so cannot comment there. I will say we had a fire alarm go off (I get it), and we were told although the firefighters couldn't find the source, they (the hotel) would keep an extra eye on things and be diligent in our wing. Fifteen minutes later- the alarm in my room started chriping (assumed it was the battery). Called the front desk from the room phone 3 times over 15 minutes- no answer. Called the main number of the hotel from my cell phone and the front desk picked up. They sent maintenance, who stood on the vanity bench from the bathroom to reach the ceiling and change it. In contrast, one of the other room (I was a chaperone for a large group)- their maintenance person put a plastic bag and duct tape over the fire alarm. The bed was comfortable. While our shower was clean, two of the other rooms had bugs in the shower. One room had yellow water from the faucet. At this point it was very late so we had the kids shower in other rooms. Our shower had the overspray on the wall tiles from when they repainted the bathtub. Floors are worn and dust and dirt under the bed. No screens on the sliding door. Two bottles of cheap shampoo and one bar of soap were given - Luckily I brought my own. Now the electrical outlets- none of them could charge a cell phone other than the ones in the bathroom. Multiple chaperones reported the same. When unplugged in the charger, it literally fell out of the wall. And the outlet next to the bed- the switch plate was broken and the outlet was ready to fall out all together. Can't comment on the pool but the kids seemed to enjoy it. Everything else is just... worn and tired and dated and if redone it was not redone well. I would not call this a "resort". Conference center it was.
