That is FAR too convenient, to be honest. :) I'm always on the lookout for new and/or craft and/or local beer, and this place Has It All. I've never been disappointed and I've often found something I 100% did not expect to find. They have a huge/vast/ENORMOUS selection of beers here. Even on those occasion when I want something but I don't know what I want, I can find something. While I'm not much of a wine drinker, they have a pretty robust (robust?) selection of wines as well. Likewise the liquors, all logically arranged and merchandised. The staff here is always pleasant and fun, and, unless they're busy, don't mind taking a few moments to engage in some small talk. They're also well versed in what they have and have never failed to help me make the best decision to properly enhance my hangover the next morning. I have one issue with this location, and it's nothing that I'd take star away for. The parking lot is dark, even though there are lights outside. We finally decided to ask about that and it goes back to when there was an ATM installed a couple years ago and the ATM installer cut a cable and hasn't repaired it yet. I love this location of Belmont Beverage. When you walk in there are vast tracts of land with alcohols of every conceivable kind. It's kinda like a kid and an adult candy store.

I've had issues in the past with the company as a whole, but this one took the cake and ran away…read morewith it. I made a return of an item to the store and wanted the sale to be credited back to my Visa, but the guy behind the register insisted that he give me cash. I figure that he wasn't the manager, and probably didn't know how to do that, so I agreed to take the money. He handed me the bills and change, and I not thinking about it, put the coins in my pocket and the cash in my wallet. The next day, I opened my wallet and noticed that I was $10 short of what should be there. I called the store (twice) and the manager said that it was he that performed the transaction and remembered it specifically, and then quoted me the wrong exchange amount. I corrected his mistake and reiterated that I only was given $29 and not $39. He then went on the defensive saying that he's the one that handles the money for the store and none of his drawers were $10 over, and he can't imagine where my $10 was. Hhhhmmmmm....in your pocket maybe? Customer service means nothing to the people that work for S & V. The people behind the counter aren't there to assist you with finding the perfect item. It's nothing like the staff at Cap'n Cork, if you need a good bottle of wine. I'll never go to this store again. Belmont's has a much better selection of Scotch Whiskys to purchase for my events. And not to mention, but Meijer and Kroger have an equal or better selection of beer, wine and liquor, compared to the S & V Liquor store on E. State Blvd. If you're from out of town and you Google where the closest liquor store is from your location and it sends you to S & V Liquors, drive 5 minutes in any direction and try again.

The employee proceeded to say "oh a $20 winner" and scanned the rest. When he came back to the register he said our total for our purchase and I said "I thought we won $20", to which he responded "oh, it was $2 and here's some free tickets you won". No money was taken off our purchase and interestingly enough he did not give us a receipt. My husband and I both thought he was acting strange, working slowly and just "off". We are not very confrontational so we just shrugged and left.... Well I left a review on Belmont's FB page and it is now removed. They had replied stating they found their draw was over by $20 that night and that their employee was new and wasn't familiar with the lottery scanning just yet (he wasn't new, I've seen him working there for a while) and that we could come get the $20. Fast forward to last night, my husband goes to scan the "free tickets" we won only to have them come up saying "already claimed" and realized we were handed back our own tickets from the night of the 19th that we had taken in. So not only were we not given $20 for the scratch off we won but who even knows how much the other 3 tickets were worth?!?!? (I guess that employee knows since they took it) JUST FYI for those who use this location or any Belmont for that matter, I know their employees float around locations at times.

A fine young man at this BB store offered to have it held for me at their brand new giant location on Dupont Road by the movie theater. Really nice of him- and I surprised my husband with it. Selection here was pretty good. They had many local craft beer choices. The best selction of six point I have ever seen. There is wine and liquor too- even those cute little bottles for alcohlics on the go.

Day two of our road trip to San Diego... stop 1…read more Before we could head out of Fort Wayne, and after we thanked our Fort Wayne hosts Phil and Linda for their wonderful hospitality, we had to stop by the Cap 'n Cork for some microbrew. "Why Corey did you have to stop by for microbrew in Fort Wayne, IN," you ask? Well, on our stay in St. Louis, we promised that we'd bring some Michigan microbrew to our new CS (CoushSurfing) friends as they are avid beer fans and drinkers. A special request we were more than happy to fulfill, except we forgot to get the beer in Michigan... oops! Alas, Indiana also has great microbrew not available to the St. Louis beer aficionado, so that would have to suffice. I was actually referred by Phil and Linda to purchase some growlers at the local brewery/restaurant Mad Anthony, but this was 9:30 am and they weren't set to open until 11am. Plan B was set into motion and we called upon the local booze chain Cap 'n Cork to see if they could help, and by George they could! Just a few miles away, the local Cap 'n Cork, situated in an odd looking 1970s construction German village type strip mall, was open for business and ready to serve. The gentleman manning the store was more than informative and helpful and pointed us to the cooler where we could get a couple six packs of the Mad Anthony and then remarked that they just got a local variety pack in from the Upland Brewing Co. called the "Local Twelver" which is very popular. So we bought both. Duh! A great start to a great day of road tripping! Now, I give this spot 3 stars for the lack of liquor and wine variety, but added a star for the knowledgeable and helpful mate behind the counter. 4 stars for the Cap 'n Cork. Tip: head to their Web site, as they offer a variety of classes and tastings at their locations. If you're around to catch one, they're free so why not!?

The location did not have a case of the beer my husband wanted, only a 6 pack. He took the 6 pack to the checkout. The cashier was rude and not helpful at all. The 6 pack cost $7. The cashier asked us for our Cap n Cork card. My husband was looking for his card and was unable to find it right away, so the cashier rang up the beer without it. The cost went up to $9! My husband found his card and asked the cashier to redo the sale with his card so he could get the sale price. The cashier said he couldn't do that. Therefore, my husband had to pay $9 for 6 bottles of Killians beer because this cashier wouldn't cooperate with him. The cashier also refused to sell us lottery tickets. He didn't offer us an explanation. The cashier also did not give us a receipt for our purchase We are done with Cap n cork. We are very happy to go to Belmont Beverage instead. They are courteous and appreciate our business. Goodbye Cap N Cork.
