I went in to get flooring for my new home. The person lost the order, There were hours of texts and calls to get things figured out. They ended up ordering the wrong flooring. They even went as far as telling me I was wrong it was the right one. I went in to show the correct flooring and wanted it ordered right away. I received a quote9 days later wanting $2000 above the original quote. I tried to reach out to both the manager and owner only to be told that they hope I can show patience and kindness to others as others have shown me after my husband's unexpected death. End result after 2 months of emails, texts and phone calls, my 12 year old daughter and I do not have new flooring in our home except carpet in the bedroom. read more

Rarely do I post a review but have to in this case. I walked by their kiosk at Costco on a whim with no intention of a purchase. Three days later I had Lara, coordinator, at my home with samples, and one month later had my entire first level with new flooring that is beautiful. Lara was amazing from the get go. She followed the project through to the end, with immediate responses to my emails, detailed quotes, and always professional and friendly. After the project, I ended up doing another order for my stair way which Lara handled in two days. Customer service was above and beyond, thank you Lara! Max and Dustin, installers, spent five days (very long days) installing and by the time they were done, I felt like they were my grown children. So detailed and meticulous in their workmanship. Always friendly and professional. Every evening they left with no mess behind them (except dust :) It's very rare in this day and age that you find contractors this conscientious. I usually do note take the time to write reviews unless there has been outstanding service provided. That has been my experience with CAP carpet. The integrity of a company is often not able to be measured until you experience how they respond after a "problem". We had concerns with Shaw (NOT CAP carpet) regarding the durability of a carpets we purchased and had installed by CAP. Bruce worked tirelessly with Shaw to resolve the concern to our satisfaction. His staff was polite and responsive throughout the process as well. Again, businesses are often accessible and helpful while they are trying to make a sale. It's when there are concerns that a reputable company will go above and beyond to ensure customer satisfaction. That has been my experience with CAP. Thank you Bruce and team! read more

This experience has been a nightmare. The laminate flooring was constantly backordered and no one called to tell us. I had to keep calling to check in because I paid thousands of dollars upfront and then NOTHING. For months. The flooring project that was supposed to be wrapped up in "2-3 weeks" ended up taking 4 months and when the installers came, it turns out the end cap (where the floor meets the wall) was never ordered so I'm writing this now expecting ANOTHER month delay to finish the project. I've called and called and my point of contact quit somewhere along the line so now I speak to a new person every time and have to re-tell me story over and over and over again. I just want my floors installed and some proper communication along the way if things aren't going as promised. Apparently that is too much to ask. I really don't recommend this company. read more

I usually confine my Yelp reviews to rating (and occasionally beating up on) places that sell food or booze. But dammit, I really have to give the Cap people a shoutout here! I the past 2 years I have had two good-sized home remodel projects done: new vinyl tile in the basement and a HUGE kitchen counter top overhaul. I had CAP Carpet and Flooring do both projects and they were spot-on for every step of the way. The showroom experience was great. Knowledgeable staff who are not aggressive, yet there to answer any question. Flooring, tile, counter tops....they know it. Lining up the work was a snap both times, and the subcontractors they sent out were very professional. The work these guys performed was to the highest level of craftsmanship, and I'm a picky bastard. Their prices were very competitive. In fact, their cost for the counter top job was 30% below the estimate we got at Home Despot. Don't think for a minute that just because they're a local outfit they can't do it cheaper and better than the box stores. read more

I write this review after NOT having used Cap for our most recent carpet install, against my better judgment, after they had done a wonderful job on three previous houses in years past. While we did get a "better deal" at a large box furniture store, the install was a nightmare and customer service sorely lacking. One might assume all carpet stores would be the same, but we've now realized that Cap is leagues above the rest... from planning/design/communication to professional and precise installation... we will definitely ONLY be returning to cap for all future flooring needs! Didn't get to the handshake on the deal with Cap Carpets. Had the estimator come out, made selections, a couple of weeks after we started we got a quote ($9 sq ft for laminate?). The contract had language that stated the installers would not move furniture. Odd, I specifically spoke with the estimator about this very issue - assured not a problem, "this is our job, this is what we do." When I tried to contact the sales person I found them on vacation, so I requested to speak with the owner. The owner called me back promptly, but informed me furniture moving was indeed extra, they don't move the sort of stuff I described to him (and the estimator), and told me his estimator would not have said what I claimed. I clarified that he was calling me a liar, I identified myself as a 'customer escape,' and wished him good luck. Caveat emptor. read more

We has such great experience with CAP when we first installed our carpet, then a little under a year later our water heater started leaking and before we realized it we had water that seeped into our basement hallway and soaked a small section of our new carpet. We called CAP to ask if they could pull up the carpet and replace the pad after we got a new water heater and they were amazing! They were so quick to respond and fixed everything perfectly so we didn't have to worry about mold. Thank you so much to the CAP team! read more

Our sakes representative was amazing. Others walked away when we couldn't find a different flooring. Tile installer was great, however they only sent 1 and it took him forever because he did the job right. Carpet installers ruined our brand new baseboard and the owner cane out saw the damage, gouges can't be covered with oil. Wouldn't replace the damage they caused. No customer service after they take your money! read more

We purchased carpet and "engineered hardwood" flooring for our basement finish. Boy or boy were we sold a bill of goods! First we were told we were buying a top of the line hardwood floor by experts (best in the business). Well, were we wrong. We still have uneven floating floor in our basement hallway, the flooring we purchased is the same quality as 49.c per sq foot linoleum you can buy at Menards. We paid over $2000.00 for roughly 200sq feet of this premium engineered hardwood floor. 1 week after installation for the 2nd time we had carpet installed. Their carpet installers knicked up some transition strips, as well as a small piece of the "wood floor". Now, as we moved our own furniture around, we also scratched a few boards. Thinking, not a big deal. We have extra boards. I'll have their installers replace the one's we scratched the same time they replace the one's their own carpet installers wrecked. This is where we were pleasantly surprised at the customer service of Cap Carpet and Flooring. We were told because we scratched the floor that NONE of it would be covered under warranty. Response from our extremely pushy saleswoman. "As far as the levelness of your flooring in your exercise room against the wall, you are going to have to cover the flooring in order to add exercise equipment as I spoke with Jenna (my wife) about this and you need to give it some time to adjust. Our installers have spent a lot of time trying to get your flooring level and we did not charge you for the extra leveling, so give it some time." Note, they came out and measured our floor, knew we had uneven spots and yes we DID get charged for it. They didn't itemize it on our invoice. We were told they would self level the floor as ANY company would do as part of their installation service and we would be fine. Again lied to. Truly unfortunate as we own a fairly good sized Plumbing company in the SE Metro and have referred customers with water damage to Cap Carpet and Flooring. That will obviously be the last time we recommend anyone to this company. Do your due diligence with any flooring company, they were not the cheapest quote we received by a long shot. (Exact same product) If people want images of the seams showing in our "best in class installers" carpet installation I can show those if you'd like as well. read more

We have been Cap Carpet customers for many years - in fact for so long so they have replaced the carpet in some rooms twice. About 10 years ago Cap replaced the vinyl flooring in the hallway, kitchen and bathroom with an expensive "wood" Kraus USA Alloc laminate. The laminate had a full 10 warranty. We noticed that it was being to separate (peak) at the seams while it was still under warranty. Despite meetings and correspondence the manufacturer stated that it was due to water damage and therefore not a warranty item. Funny thing - it's in the middle of the kitchen eating area under a table, and there are other areas that also show the same problem. We are convinced that the failure is not because of us. Todd Peck, the owner of Cap Carpet, did offer to provide us with an area rug of our choice as satisfaction for the problem. I accepted the offer, we went to the showroom and selected a rug, but now Cap Carpet is unwilling to provide the rug we choose. Instead they have offered an older inexpensive brown rectangular shag rug. We have rejected their offer since the table is round, and we are not interested in a brown shag rug. So after many years of being a happy customer and providing referrals to others I can no longer recommend Cap Carpet to anyone, and have absolutely no intention of ever doing business with them again. read more

Installers came as planned. It was a big project, master bedroom, 4 sets of stairs and a large family room. After a few minutes, one of the first installers claimed he was allergic to cats and could not work on the job. The second installer finished the family room but had ripped up all the stairs and had put down padding with nails exposes. I was told the job could not be completed today as pomised and was given no time for completion of this project. I was told to just put everything back and sleep in my bedroom....hour of work clearing it out for nothing, just to redo it when every they come back? I was upset, as I had spent hours clearing out my bedroom and other part of the house. He said because I was upset he refused to finish the stair and left the house in an unsafe and hazardous condition. I was and still have not been given a time of completion. I was told that because I got upset the job wasn't getting done. I got upset because the job wasn't getting done. I would not in any way ever recommend CAP. Also, I did not like the carpet quality. I would have upgraded had I been informed better of carpet quality choices. BEWARE! read more

These folks are awesome. Did a kitchen - living room redo wth LVT last August. Extremely helpful- Sunny was a great help. There was a small issue that was immediately, professionally and ably handled. Shame on me for not giving kudos then. Had kitchen countertop and backsplash installed. Poor workmanship--poked hole in sheetrock under my snack bar while installing countertop and didn't even tell me about it. I saw the hole and requested it be repaired. Also backsplash installer left large gap between top row of tile and underside of snack bar. Also never mentioned it until I saw it and demanded he return to fix the gap. Undermount sink poorly installed. After several calls a VP came out and acknowledged errors. Sent me a check for $200 because of overcharges to me. He was to check on the sink installation but has never gotten back to me. I have left voicemail messages for him, but no return calls received. read more
