We discussed and agreed to the project schedule and expectations. What transpired was a serious lack of transparency and management. We were taken advantage of including paying for work that was never done and were told it was, hurried work that required rework multiple times, schedule slippage by multiple weeks causing us to incur additional costs and rescheduling subsequent contractors. John discussed making things right, however we were well past the point of allowing for this to continue and paid for a different contractor to finish the remaining rework. I love how it looks and how it flows seamlessly from the Living Room/Dining Room space to the Kitchen and even in to the small bathroom. I have been walking on the floors barefoot since they were installed. The installer did a good job on the thresholds. Both the kind that lead to an outside door and the difference in the color of the plank into the bathroom space. The Owner Tina was great to work with. Until you are looking for a destination, you may not realize how close or where it is. Working in St Paul we have easily driven past Seestedt's a few hundred times going to work or Saints games. Anyhow we are considering remodeling our bathroom and based on my Yelpsearch, Seestedt's had some very solid reviews. Being that they are local and family owned are other key factors that we support. I had already done some research on their website to see what they had in stock. When we arrived we were greeted by Garrett and Clare. Garrett showed us to the area where they had their vinyl plank flooring. Seestedt's has carpet, vinyl plank and wood flooring and more. Garrett was very helpful answering our questions and explaining the benefits and different types of flooring we were looking for. We also learned that Seestedt's is in a historical building as we were shown the cut room where they used to cut the carpet decades ago. We were able to get a better idea of the colors we would like as this trip was more of information and check out the styles before we make our purchase. Seested's is also in the process of moving to a new location off of 94 and I believe White Bear Ave. They should be in their new location sometime between the end of this year or early 2019. Thanks to Garrett for his friendly and helpful information, we will be visiting again soon to either narrow our selections down or to purchase our flooring.

Great before/after pics that turns out to be absolutely no exaggeration. Our 1951 red oak floors had been covered in cheap carpet years before we moved in, and we finally decided to rip it up. Underneath was this horrid orange-hued varnish - I guess that is what happens with old oil-based finish. Also had a bunch of areas where floor registers used to be that were now patched with plywood. Ben did the patch work on the areas and was able to match it up to the original flooring - can't even tell where the patches were now. The finish is beautiful, and no more orange! Everything about the job was handled very professionally - Ben was always on time, and since we were at work, he made sure to call us on his way out every day and let us know the job status. All-in-all, a perfect home maintenance experience.

He provided a consultation for my indoor floors, but then I had him also look at my garage floor and he said he was able to do the work I was looking for, which is what I will be reviewing here today. I had a few cracks in my garage floor and was looking to Epoxy it to protect it for the winter. Dave explained to me his process and how it differs from the competition which helps keep his cost low. The best part about Dave was that he stuck to the quote he gave me, with no surprises or additional ask for money, and he started when he said he would, got the job done quick, and finished when he said he would - anyone who has worked with contractors before knows this is a rarity! Taking on hardwood floor refinishing yourself is a very intimidating project. If you are a pretty…read morehandy person that thinks you know it all and have seen all the DIY videos, do yourself a favor and take the last (and most important step) of getting a machine in your hands for some training before you touch your precious hardwoods. Kadee, the hardwood floor training goddess, is a fantastic teacher with incredible knowledge and patience. I can't imagine how many newbies she has trained, but she seemed super excited about our project and helping us learn the ropes. She never made us feel intimidated or discouraged. She spent almost 2 hours between giving us the training and helping with product selection. Getting that training and the "feel" for the machine definitely saved us from visible mistakes on our own floor. She also helped us nail the finish selection with absolutely perfect results. Pete's does one thing and does it well. If you are somewhat handy and want to do this project, do yourself a favor and get to Pete's.
