Tired and groggy, we made it to the entryway only to discover that our keys didn't work. We called the owner for help. This meant that he had to drive all the way from Salt Lake City to open the doors not to our original room, but some other house 15 minutes away. We weren't getting what we ordered?? Finally after waiting what seemed like an eternity, we entered our condo at 2:30am! The place is actually quite nice. Good scenery, good views, kitchen, flat screen tv, a lot of places to sleep, jacuzzi bath, and a community swimming pool/workout area. For some reason all of the dishes in the kitchen weren't cleaned. Plus there wasn't any sponge! How the heck our we supposed to clean these dishes? We ended up using a lot of paper towels. I guess it can wait till the morning; finally, some rest and relaxation. Oh wait, you say there's ghosts? A part of our group experienced ghost sightings, electrical disturbances, and one person was told that she was going to be killed the next day. Another girl exited the shower to find that she had scratches over her body and face. These scratches resembled scratches found all over the condo as well. Spooky. Some people sighted a shadowy figure standing near the door and outside the window. Odd. The next day the group moved to a different room. I personally didn't see anything out of the ordinary probably because I was tired the entire time. But if I did see something I'd be the first one out of there.

This was the perfect place to stay during my trip to Park City. It's located just a right around…read morethe corner from Canyon's Resort, the largest ski/board resort in Utah, and a short distance from Main Street where all the shops, restaurants, and parties are held during Sundance. Close enough to everything, but just far enough out to get away from it all and truly enjoy your experience in Park City. We stayed in a three level condo with four bedrooms, large fully equipped kitchen with marble island, large living room, and a den on the bottom floor. This is the perfect place for a family vacation, or a group of friends coming in for a week of skiing, or coming in for the Sundance Film Festival. I'm sure that each condo is different, but I would definitely stay at the place that we stayed again on 5468 Luge Lane. Did I mention they have a four person hot tub to melt away any stress that you have? Now THIS is a vacation...away from it all, nestled in a warm cabin/condo while the world outside is covered in snow.....

The staff was so attentive - they were quick to respond whenever we had questions, even during the evening hours when we arrived to the cabin late Friday evening. They checked in and made sure we were comfortable and were communicative before, during, and after our stay. We wish we could've lived in the cabin we rented for the weekend! Last fall, we met with one of the owners of SML to book the Hollow in addition to another large…read moreproperty to rent for our family for our wedding in June 2023. That winter, Utah had historic snowfalls. I began contacting SML as early as March to express concern about the snow. I was assured that if it did not melt by May, SML had equipment where they could and remove the snow in time for the ground to dry. Come May, SML did not remove snow, but gladly took full payment for both the Hollow and the house, for our other rentals, and those of our guests. Then, 23 days before our wedding, the other owner, emailed us to abruptly cancel our venue at the Hollow. There was no phone call, no apology, just an explanation that they were concerned about their lawn recovering this summer, and that the stream was louder than usual. They had no alternative venue, and suggested we book the Sundance Resort for our venue - a thoughtless recommendation to make 3 weeks before our wedding as all of our vendors (catering, rental etc.) were well past their cancellation policies and Sundance Resort also had been completely booked as of the year before. SML then suggested they could get permission to host our wedding at the house that we were already renting. When SML confirmed, it also came with "stipulations" of an additional $4,000 "fee" plus $3,000 security deposit - un-coincidentally the exact the sum we had paid for the Hollow. With zero options, this felt like extortion, and we accepted. This now required us to re-plan an entire wedding in a couple of weeks, and forfeit substantial investments that were made in anticipation of having the venue at the Hollow. During the process of replanning the wedding, SML owners were unresponsive at best. It took days for them to respond to emails (often requiring 2 and 3 emails plus phone calls and texts to get a response), and phone calls would go unreturned. This contributed to an already extremely stressful situation that any bride would describe as a complete nightmare. In the end, the lawn at the Hollow was green and healthy the week of our wedding and SML appeared to be setting up another event. We were respectful the entire weekend left the house spotless, yet the owner was belligerent, rude, and unprofessional. The way events were also handled from the cancellation of our wedding to checking-out are beyond the bounds of human decency, let alone professionalism. This is a family run business, who runs their business without concern for their impact on others and makes unethical grabs at additional profits after they take every effort to upend a wedding. They truly took what was supposed to be the best day of our lives and ruined much of the joy in the occasion. If you are considering SML for an important event, I can recommend more strongly to look elsewhere.

We came the last weekend in September and got a 1 bedroom suite…read more The entrance of the hotel was a little odd - there's a small pullout on Deer Valley Drive in front of the lobby, but it was blocked by a bus and we had to park in a side lot and walk over to the entrance. Maybe it is different in th winter but there weren't any signs so we were a little confused. The suite was great and had a private hot tub and the kitchen was stocked with pots and pans and other basics - we thought it would be perfect to spend a week here on a ski trip this winter. There is also an EV charger (if you have a Tesla you need to bring your own adapter). The reason for only three stars is that our room was not cleaned thoroughly at all. There were cleaning rags left on the kitchen counter, a hairball in the shower, and an unflushed toilet. Based on the other good reviews it seems that this is not typical, so maybe it was some kind of rare oversight, but it was enough that we were a little skeeved out. We considered changing rooms, but it was late and we were tired from traveling and didn't want to go through the hassle of switching. So overall everything was good except for the cleanliness, and unfortunately that was enough to leave a less-than-stellar impression and I don't know if we will consider Silver Baron on our winter ski trips.

I called front desk and they assured me they would send maintenance up, after 20 mins of waiting (after a whole day of traveling), I called again and front desk said they would check with maintenance again, then they called me back saying actually the boiler is broken and there will be no hot water to use for the night. I travel a lot and have never stayed at a resort (or even regular hotel) with no working hot water. This issue was not fixed the next morning, so we couldn't take a shower the next day either. We had a ski reservation, so in the afternoon when I called the hotel if we can shower (we desperately needed to shower especially after skiing), they said they finally have someone came to fix it but it will take time to heat up for the whole place and cannot walk guarantee how long it will take. I expressed how ridiculous this situation is and the only thing they offered was to refund for 1 day of resort fee. On our last day, the AC unit broke so there was no heat in our room (the day we left in the morning, it was 29 degrees outside). Also the whole time we were there, no one ever came to clean the room (every single hotel and resort I've ever stayed at, they come to clean daily or at-least every other day). This is not a resort - there's no typical resort amenities and the rooms look so old like they have not been updated in a long time. Everything was broken and the management offered no accommodation besides refunding 1 day of resort fee lol 100% would stay away and don't waste your money or point at this place.

This hotel isn't just "under renovation" it's an active construction site. I stayed here for work…read morelast week and it's a mess. The floors are covered in plastic wrap, there's painter's tape (and active painting!) everywhere, the lobby pool is totally torn to shreds. My coworkers and I were wondering what fumes we were being exposed to every time we walked through the hotel. There's no housekeeping unless you ask, and only available during certain hours (So when I noticed the shampoo in my shower was empty I was SOL.), they offer a "discounted" rate to the health club across the street for the lack of pool (it should be free for the hassle), and worst of all they still charge a resort fee on the bill? For what??? The few positives are that the front desk staff was nice, and my room was large, quiet, and mostly clean. You could tell they recently renovated the room but didn't do the best job--shower leaked all over the floor, paint was peeling from the ceiling, and the door was super hard to open. Maybe the hotel will be nice when the renovation is done, but for now I would definitely avoid.
