I had two chiropractic tables which needed some work and I was too lazy to place an ad to see if anyone wanted them. Instead, I did a search for recycling companies. I came across Canyon Ridge and sent Martin a voicemail message. He returned my phone call and asked if I could send him pictures of the tables. I did so and his reply was, "Good morning Richard hope your day is well. Thank you for the few pics. I can get that taken out for you for $200. Let me know a day and time that works for you. Respectfully, Martin -Canyon Ridge Detail-" We agreed on a date and time (Monday, August 10 after 2 PM). The day of the pick-up I received another text: "Quick question, is this table broken? Just asking as I may have someone interested who I may drop it off to" And I replied: "The vinyl on one needs to be redone. The other, the vinyl is brand new but the arm rest is broken and the table no longer raises" He replied, "Perfect thanks for the update. See you soon" He arrived on time with a young child and no helper. We brought the lighter table into the truck and then proceeded to try to figure out how to move the heavy, older one. I am sixty-eight-year-old and purposefully hired someone to do this work so I would not have to. I had to help him lift the table onto a single furniture dolly and maneuver it through the office outside to the truck. After multiple failed attempts of both of us trying to lift this table onto the truck (where I injured myself) he decided to leave it in the driveway with a promise to come back with a friend to remove it on Wednesday. While trying to lift it onto the truck, he ended up damaging it even further because of all the movable parts. He asked if I would Venmo him half the amount of money that same evening and, as a commitment to our texted agreement, and as a gesture of kindness and trust, I did so. The table is still sitting there, over a week later, in the driveway. He has responded to my texts with three other dates and times that he promised to remove it from the office driveway. The last day was yesterday, and he never showed up and did not respond to my text. He said that he was a Phoenix Police Officer. This is not the type of moral responsibility that I would expect from a police officer who should have integrity and an ethical commitment to act with fairness, honor, and accountability. I would not trust this person to do any junk removal, or recycling. According to his mission statement: "Canyon Ridge Detail is a comprehensive, labor-free solution for property cleanouts and specialized mobile RV cleaning. For junk removal, we restore space and eliminate property hazards by providing quick readiness, loading, and hauling." It certainly was NOT "labor-free" on my part and now I do, INDEED, have a property hazard sitting in the driveway of my office that I will have to pay someone else to remove ASAP. read more
