I was having a casual morning walk with a friend who likes art so it was such an easy decision to make. As soon as we walked in we were wowed by the local art. I saw some coffee in the back and made my way to the coffee shop where I was greeted warmly by Krista who is awesome! I tried their Spring Fling latte iced which has lavender and vanilla with whip cream and the lavender flour on top. Some people don't like the lavender flour, but I love it! It actually feels calming because of the lavender in it. My friend and I had some great conversations with the barista and a regular and it felt like such an awesome community space. I will definitely be coming back here to both see the local art and have more coffee!

This particular location is new, but the gallery itself has been around for about 20 years. Since…read morewe were the only visitors here, we received the VIP tour and all of this nice gentleman's attention. :) Even though he was assisting in the garden, he popped in and out occasionally to see if we had questions and to give us a mini history of the piece we were viewing at the moment. He was VERY knowledgeable as he can spout out the origin of the artwork and artist's mini bio by memory. The artwork came all over: Spain, Russia, Italy, etc. There were water colored and oil paintings, sculptures, to even a few black light paintings. Yes, black light. When viewed under the black light, these piece will awe you. There will be a garden coming soon since it is a work in progress when we visited here this past Sat. From the plant's labels, there will be a variety of plant species. Although small and right in front of the gallery, you can sit and enjoy the sun's warmth and take in the nature's beauty. Even though this was a small gallery, it took about an hour to an hour and a half to fully enjoy the artwork and get the history of some of the pieces. And though I was here for the Motion and Light exhibit, I enjoyed the whole gallery and the guidance from the gentleman. I can't wait for the garden to be complete and for the warmer weather to arrive. Admissions to this place is totally free btw. And sometimes the artist will visit and meet and greet events are organized here as well.

This is a terrific facility to hold an event. We celebrated by husband's 50th birthday in the…read moreballroom. It comes with all the equipment you need (sound, projectors, kitchen with warmers and microwaves). They arrange the room, which seats up to 120, how you want. The facility is extremely affordable. I wish there was more parking, but there are other areas nearby to park. The people there are very helpful and kind. If you clean up to their liking after the event, you get your deposit back within the following week. I'd do another event there in the future.

A RELAXING FRIDAY NIGHT!…read more Tonight my husband and I attended one of the First Friday concerts at the center. These concerts occur the first Friday of every month in the upstairs ballroom. They are from 7:00 until 9:00 and feature a variety of artists. Attendees are encouraged to bring their dinner and eat during the concert just as they do during the summer concerts. Tonight's group was "Out of the Rain" featuring Ron HIpp and Carol Statella, a folk duo. It is apparent that they have been together for a very long time because they just flow together seamlessly. I enjoyed tonight's selections which included folk classics and a country waltz. It was great "feel good" music that allows you to forget about everything but sitting back and fully enjoying the moment. It was a great way to spend a Friday evening!

I've repaired several kinds of pottery pieces, china, and other mediums, as well as repaired tears in paintings (modern art as well as antique oil paintings). This requires a great deal of care and tedious work. I will also restore the frame, which often needs repair as much as the painting. Antiques: I restore & repair small antique furniture as well as art pieces of all forms. I used to do larger furniture pieces but can no longer handle the toll it takes on my body. In this day of digital photography and sophisticated consumer photo manipulation software, high-end…read morephoto labs are a scarce commodity. Colorchrome is perhaps the finest such business remaining in the Atlanta area, maybe the southeast. I believe their business is mostly commercial work but we use them for my wife's exhibition photography. Making large photographs suitable for hanging in a gallery is something Colorchrome does well. Artists tend to be perfectionists, so flaws in the prints generally are unacceptable. Colorchrome mostly produces the required flawless prints but they're not prefect - they do occasionally have imperfections in the prints. But they stand behind their work and will reprint when necessary. It's hard for me to say whether Colorchrome is reasonably priced or not. I'd say that's more a question to be answered by their commercial customers. For art prints, they ain't cheap but neither is anyone else. It's just the nature of the business. Having suitable frames made for the prints is just as expensive. Which is why artists typically need grants for their exhibitions. But that's another story ... Recommended. I am surprised to find myself writing a review for a vendor. Colorchrome is more of a partner than…read morea vendor. Over the past 8 years, they have provided all manner of printing, mounting, CNC cutting, file prep, consultation, banners, panels, vinyl cutout lettering, transparencies, floor signs and so on. When money has been tight, they have been able to help with alternative materials and processes. When my instructions were unclear or incomplete, they politely asked the right questions and were careful to produce the right product the first time. On the rare occasion when something was not as I had hoped, they were quick to find a solution. Their turnaround times for most products are so good that I have rarely needed to ask for the optional expedited production, but when I have, the speed has been incredible and without a reduction in quality. It is rare to find a company that does so many things and does them all well. Before finding these folks, I used one company for cutout lettering, another for large format posters, and a third for fabric and photographic printing. Last year I was invited to tour their new facilities, and they are impressive. I am writing this for selfish reasons, as I want to support Colorchrome through this dark time. They have consistently supported my projects and made me look good, and I dread the thought of going back to a smattering of lesser vendors.
