This is in the heart of the crowded suburban megaplex on the Simsbury-Avon line. There are huge driveways on both sides of Shell's corner lot, so getting in and out is never a problem. They have quite a few gas pumps, so I've never really had to wait to gas up here. Gas in Simsbury is expensive everywhere, sometimes a 25-cent piece more than what you find on the Berlin Tpk. So it's a given that gas here is going to be expensive, but not a penny more than the equally expensive Mobil across the street. Which makes me think, wouldn't it be sweet if these 2 got into a price war instead of playing footsie with each other? You can save a few bucks with your Stop and Shop points, you have to slide in your Stop and Shop card before your credit card, and the price per gallon will drop. Mine dropped 20 cents this morning. So the price of gas is at the local market rate, there are tons of pumps, the place has easy access and egress. And unlike the prior review, I never had a problem with a malfunctioning gas pump. Also unlike the prior review, I would not call the guys who work there "clowns". I've always found them to be courteous and helpful. The convenience store inside is pretty good as convenience stores go, Good place for a newspaper, soft drink, maybe a lottery ticket. All in all -the total picture of "A-OK".

I was actually a little overwhelmed at all the choices since it was my first time there so I went with a basic choice. The meat was sliced to order, the roll was large and fresh, made nicely and you get a bag of chips with each sandwich. She was very friendly and it didn't take long. This past month Russell Speeders increased my monthly fee for the unlimited car washes from $29 per month to $49 per month without even notifying me. This increase showed up on my checking account statement. No warning, no phone call, no email, no mail, they just raise the rate because they thought they could. I was stunned with this poor business practice that Russell Speeders does apparently to almost every customer This business should be investigated by the State of Connecticut consumer protection immediately for their deceptive business practices. I feel bad for the employees of this establishment because they actually are very nice. Management is terrible. Upper management is possibly the worst. $29 a month to $49 a month with no warning. Never again Russell Speeders never again. I have canceled my monthly membership. There are many car wash services in the area that offer monthly rates, and I'll be checking them out shortly. I will also be disputing these charges with the bank.
