A few friends suggested that we head over to this wine pub after dinner around 8:30pm on a Tuesday. I was shocked to say the least to see that the hours are from 3-10 Monday-Thursday. On weekends they have longer hours (posted in photos). My husband opted to do a beer sampler which included four 4 oz draft pours and I ordered an affogato. The wine and beer list here is extensive and the prices are affordable. My favorite thing about our visit were the vibes. Inside is decorated super cute and full of fun seating options (captain chairs, couches, and bar seating)

I celebrated my birthday with my boyfriend last Wednesday at this cute and amazing place. The ambiance is incredible, very cozy and modern. The service was outstanding, food was great, and the drinks really good. We started with their Cantine Spritz and Rose Spritz, they were both really good, but Rose Spritz was my favorite. We ordered a wine flight, they came in beautiful mini bottles, which was very detailed and beautiful. The wines that we picked tasted awesome. For tapas, we had tortillas espanolas and Fromage. Fromage comes with goat cheese, Brie and Gorgonzola cheese, everything that I love. It also comes with pecan, bread and a delicious spicy jam. Please you have to try this jam, it's super delicious. Tortilla Espanola is a combination of different flavors and really really. I recommend everything that I ordered. And I want to come back as soon as possible.

We very much enjoyed our first visit here last night. We dropped in around 5:15 pm and caught the tail end of their Happy Hour (M-F 3-6 pm) and stayed for more tapas. Scored prime pet friendly seats by a lovely fire pit on their back patio. Here's what we tried... * HH Mezze - Selection of charcuterie, cheese and olives... so good! * HH Pintxos - 2 x 2 crostinis of serrano ham/manchego and blistered cherry tomatoes. * Focaccia with Olive Oil - Features bread from Kelly's Bakery * Deviled Eggs (3) - Decent rendition of this classic * Pinsa Flatbread - prosciutto, pear & cheese on a light thin bread. This was very yummy. Good selection of wines on tap or by the glass or bottle, beers, ciders, etc. I especially liked that they offer a build your own wine flight for the wines on tap (which I tried) or by the glass. Lovely laid back ambiance indoors and outdoors out back. Service was friendly, helpful and attentive. Looking forward to returning to try more interesting sounding items from their tapas menu.

    The hot brownie! Delicious!

Have seen this for a while just too busy to stop we should have. Flat bread 2 choices we had the second a fresh mozzarella and basil with tomato sauce, wonderful. a red wine flight. For dessert a hot brownie and a glass of dessert Chianti Classico. Large comfy chairs and plenty of food and an outdoor patio's, front and back.

Such a cute little wine bar. There is plenty of seating inside and outside. I love how cozy the room is and how they come to you to order. The service was fast and friendly. Enjoyed the drinks and ambiance.

Nice chill vibe, yummy drinks, good apps, pretty patio, and friendly service. Went on a Thursday night and sat outside on the patio and watched the sunset. It was really nice. Got a lavender lemon Kyla kombucha that was really good - got a second one. Def would go back for drinks. And it's now my fave new alcoholic kombucha drink. The food was good, not amazing or anything, but yummy and I'd go back again. I got the deviled eggs, lamb chops, padron peppers, charcuterie board, and ham tortilla. It was all pretty good. Probz won't order the charcuterie board again as it just seemed very empty. Mostly just meat and some mustard. Also had to ask for the bread that was supposed to come with it. Padron peppers could've been cooked a little more. The tortilla was probz the best thing and I'd order that again. The seating arrangements were cool. There were a lot of comfy spots. A fire pit. Loved the view outside (though some bugs flying around at dusk, but quickly went away after the sunset). The seating on the patio gets a little tight, but there's also awesome heaters by them for you to keep warm. Inside has comfy couches. Service was mostly good. The lady that was our waitress most of the time was very nice and attentive. Her male counterpart was a bit two sheets to the wind (and you could tell she was having to make up his slack) but other than that totes great service. Def coming back for some more drinks, tortillas, and need to get wine next time fer sure!

Portions are small and just ok in taste. Nice seating. Poor service. Goat cheese salad took 30 minutes to come out during happy hour.

Other patrons were sitting out in the front patio so I took advantage and took photos of the space. Cocoa Vino is gorgeous and clean inside. It would be a fantastic venue for a special occasion such as a birthday or holiday party. They are flexible with furniture removal or movement within their space. They do not do your typical 1-2 ounce tasting pours, only wine/beer/cider by the glass, but they'll absolutely let you have a gracious tasting of something to see if you want to commit to a full glass. Their wine selection is unmatched. My gf and I enjoyed a bottle of Piper Sonoma brut rosé which was delicious. We then dabbled with a glass of their best brut and then some white wine. I let our AMAZING host, Rodney, select his favorites for our charcuterie board (ask if they have the duck prosciutto)! They also own Capitola Candy Shop down the street, and their chocolate truly is so flavorful. Cocoa Vino had live entertainment so we enjoyed the reggae performer. It was such a fun afternoon and night there! Go and support Cocoa Vino if you want to be impressed and have a solid experience!

Finally it came into my head when my in-laws asked me where I'd like to go for dinner for my birthday! It's a small quaint indoor restaurant but outdoors has a large patio with seating too! We were sat at the round table which was quiet and intimate. Everything we tried was fantastic, the starters we had were the foccacia. It wasn't warmed which I would've preferred but it was still fluffy and tasty and served with sea lettuce butter which definitely had a hint of garlic, which always makes things better ;). Who doesn't love garlic?! The other starter we tried was the asparagus, loved it! Would totally order again! The portions were perfect for sharing for 4 of us as well. My entree I ordered the beef check gnocchi, they make their pasta in house and this was so rich and freaking tasty! Absolutely similar to a short rib. 10/10 recommend!! My husband ordered the CA strip loin, cooked perfect medium served with a garlic aioli and crispy potatoes. I got to try his and his was equally fantastic! My mother in law ordered the rock cod crudo and she shared with me as well, the chili oil really came out in flavor in the dish, it was plated beautifully as well. I think this would be a great shared appetizer for groups too. Father in law got the fried chicken, and WOW - an entire HALF chicken! So large, local chicken, fresh and flavorful. Desserts we had the pistachio pana cotta and olive oil cake, the panna cotta was FANTASTIC. You should absolutely order this if you have room! The service could have been quicker, but she was still attentive overall dining time was about 2 hours which is long in my opinion and we could've ordered more beverages and upsold us but overall this place is a must try! You will not be disappointed!

Offerings were diverse and plentiful. Once again, I was struck with wanting all of the things. My server was accommodating with my request to taste two different white wines and two different reds throughout my meal. I opted for the Chardonnay to go with the special halibut crudo, which was outstandingly prepared. The fish itself was a bit on the fishy side (especially for halibut) but I don't fault the restaurant. The treatment of the fish was perfection. I'm a bit of a Caesar salad aficionado and considered skipping Mentone's mostly because I'd just enjoyed one the night before. But I just had to try it and I'm glad I did. It was certainly not traditional but it was very well made, even better with the added anchovies ~ although I did suffer some sticker shock when I got the bill and found that those little fish were $2 each. Ooof. Switched gears to some Pinot Noir and went for the ricotta sage browned butter ravioli, which were fabulous. I probably should have stopped there but ordered the tiramisu and it was a miss for me. Just way (way) too boozy and totally lacked balance, although it was pretty. All in all, a very nice experience ~ although very pricey for a single diner. Appetizer, salad (with the pricey little fishies), entree, dessert and two 5-ounce pours of wine left my wallet $185 lighter (with tax, tip and 4% kitchen wages surcharge). I know everything is very expensive these days, but whoa. Definitely a special occasion kind of place!
