Many so called farmer's markets sell produce that is grown at various farms around this area yet they market it as their own and charge ridiculous prices. English peas for example. I am a raw, English pea fanatic. When they come in season, which should be any day now, Miller's (they grow their own) sell them initially for roughly $3.99 per pound. Price lowers as season continues. On my first of the season visit I usually buy five pounds or so, I clean them out. Remember too that with English peas there is a great deal of waste as the pod is inedible. Various other so called farmer's markets sell them by the pint or basket. Hello - a pint of peas?? A mere teaser for me. The weight is so minimal that I'm guessing it's about a fourth of a pound or less. These pints are not cheap. Maybe $3.00? I got stuck on the pea thing so let me venture to other veggies. Every product that is grown in their fields is marked as such. They grow corn, tomatoes, green and wax beans, melons, really a wide variety. They also sell things grown elsewhere which is noted as such. I can't say enough about the integrity and quality of this market other than "Stay Away" during pea season or you might be leaving with a stump on the hand that tried to take my peas. This also applies to sweet corn.

Its in a parking lot but you can park there and walk right up. There are a variety of vendors and priced nicely. We used cash for all our purchases but not sure if there was an option for use of cards. Will be back in the fall to see what fruit and vegetables are available. They welcome you right on to the front yard of their beautiful estate and trust you to leave cash and take what you honestly paid for. If you need help or need to place a large order they left their home and cell phone number right in the shack. They have grocery bags that say "thank you" and a bin to shuck your corn . I've bought corn from them for years and never once got a bad tasting ear and never once had a bug in the husks. She goes right out on a gator and gets corn. $4 cash for 12 freshly picked that day still warm from the sun ears of corn. I had a $5 so I took 14 ears to feed 6 people. Every single one was perfect.
