LOL --- this is my first "non-food" review, but this place is so beautiful --- it needs to be…read moreshared! I was looking for somewhere beautiful to get a panorama of Chattanooga (+ more) from an awesome vantage point, and I found this spot on Google. It's a bit of a winding drive to eventually arrive to the site, and when you do, parking is extremely limited. It's either you got luck or God on your side, to park right where the "rock" is, but I was very fortunate. The steps are very large and irregular getting to the actual "site", and if you are not fit --- just go slow. However, once you arrive --- it's like heaven. A view from the heavens overseeing the Tennessee River Gorge, Prentice Cooper State Forest, and valleys. Spending 20-30 minutes after getting up their will clear your mind. A view that you should not pass up!

This trail was a bit more challenging than others we've done. For context, I enjoy long hikes on…read morerelatively flat, well-defined paths--l'm not a hardcore hiker. So, from my perspective, I'd rate this as a moderately difficult hike. The trail is about 3.5 miles round trip and took us around 2 hours, not including the time we spent enjoying the view at the top. The summit is absolutely worth the effort-the view is breathtaking. Be sure to bring plenty of water. Thankfully, the trail has lots of shade, which helped keep us cool and protected from the sun.

The rating system could use a little tinkering imo. There seems to be a big jump in difficultly between some of the colors which was a little disheartening and I was a little offended by the names assigned to the different skill levels when I went. The space here is huge. Good sized bouldering area with no climbing boulder in the middle. This allows you to see the whole climbing area which is different and I'm sure it makes it a great venue for bouldering competitions. There is a really really nice advanced climbing area with a large spray wall and a few techie boards like a Moon board and Kilter board. I wish I had these in my local gym and this is definitely the nicest training area I've seen in any gym so far. There is a decent sized weight training area with free weights. The restrooms are pretty nice as well. Beside the normal restroom things you will also see showers, a changing area, and even a little area made to wash your feet. I didn't get to explore the Ninja area but it did look pretty realistic, challenging and fun. The people who work here are nice and helpful; I regret not spending more time talking to them and gaining some climbing wisdom. All in all this place is catered to upcoming and experienced climbers. A little surprised to see no top or lead climbing with a gym of this size. If I was new at climbing I might find this gym to be a bit challenging.

Unlike all other climb gyms in the world, that's not how this process works at Climb. There's no walk in certs. You have to make an appointment, sometimes a week in advance for a Tuesday or Thursday time slot. The test itself is supposedly 45 minutes. There was a competition here hosting some of the best youth climbers in the country. They lead climbed in the gym for 2 days. After the comp was over, and once the gym opened up to the public, the kids were not allowed to get back on the walls to climb the routes that were set for them. Why? Because they weren't certified to lead in the gym. That's weird because they were just in your gym climbing those exact routes with the blessing of your management who organized the event, but OK, let's get them certified. Sorry, you have to make an appointment for next week. Next week? There are tons of people working here. None of them can certify these kids who traveled from out of state? No. It actually defies logic.
