The short hike up to the overlook took about 5 minutes, and the view at the top is absolutely breathtaking. It's a great little adventure and well worth the drive. I was wearing sandals and made it just fine, but I'd definitely recommend closed-toe shoes for better grip and safety. Also--don't forget the bug spray! We got bit by some gnat-type bugs while taking in the view. Can't wait to come back when the weather cools down. It's one of those spots that's beautiful now and will be even more amazing in the fall.

They were covered and trying to knock them off before getting in their car. We walked up to the overlook anyway since we drove so far. Man, they weren't kidding! There were swarms of these things everywhere. It was awful and we had our dog with us. While I was getting the dog back in our truck these pests were all around and a bunch got inside the cab. We had them flying around inside the cab on the way home and even finding more the next day. Not a fun day at Bee Rock. If the lady bugs weren't there it would be a nice place to see, a very short walk to the overlook but a little tricky in a couple of spots. I had to photoshop the swarming bugs out of these pictures.

Cool 90' waterfall near the TN end of Cherohala Skyway. After a 2 year long closure, BRF just…read moreopened 3 weeks ago (May 30,2025). It had a great setting with strong cascades after much rain in the Cherokee National Forest. Since August, 2023 much of the roads, parking and the original 1933 Bridge were updated and new observation decks from the Bridge make it enjoyable even for the mobility challenged. The base of the falls and swimming holes can be accessed. I dipped my toes in and the water was warmer than expected on a hot humid (80s) day. There are 2 access roads along the Cherohala Skyway and are easy to miss. River Road is easier and seems to show up on GPS. Turkey run is NOT marked, newly paved but had a big fallen tree blocking much of the road. Parking is limited, about 15 parking spots and a steady stream of cars waiting on a weekDay afternoon. It's worth a stop but be prepared for the crowds and limited parking. No restrooms nor anything else. Leave No Trace!

Would be really slippery if wet and muddy. *Drive in is a little rough once you exit highway 68 onto Witt Rd (341) for about three miles. We made it in a sedan on a dry day. Would need 4x4 if raining or snowing. Enjoy this and leave it better than you found it!

Truly the worst Brussels sprouts I've ever had, cold, overcooked & terrible flavor, we sent them back & replaced w/ EXACTLY the same thing! Again, NOTHING is fresh served in 2 min! 3rd time replaced with luke warm hospital broccoli, not an ounce of seasoning. Half the meal wasn't eaten.
