We went on open mic night which was great and sitting outside in the conservatory (which sound cold but isn't!) meant it didn't really disturb us. The food was great, although a little on the Luke warm side which was a shame. The staff were great, funny and interactive. The only weird thing really was that one of the group members went up to the bar to order. They said its table service and wouldn't take the order. Well.... No one came to the table, until we had to call them and then they never really came back. I think they'd be better suited just sticking to the pub tradition of goof up to the bar to order. Seemed very bizarre to offer table service... But not really offer it properly.

The owners and staff are extremely friendly and go out of their way to be polite and ensure you have a good time. They also have a great selection of drinks with some lovely wines, again, all reasonably-priced. The best thing about this place, though, is the fact it feels like a comfortable living room at a mate's house. They have plenty of sofas, a log fire and a pile of board games to complete the vibe. It gets fairly busy on weekends, but nothing like the crowded, noisy inner city pubs. Perfect for whiling away a Sunday afternoon with some friends. They have just opened an outside terrace too, which is lovely, and they have a room that can be hired out for events. It is such a good find and so unspoilt by overcrowding that I am almost reluctant to share the info with anyone. I'm happy to say, this place ticks all those boxes. The seating is comfortable, the staff is friendly, the vibe is definitely suburban-local, and given that it's in the 'burbs, it doesn't get too rowdy or crazy, making it both pet and family-friendly. The drinks are modest, but plentiful. You won't have the best cocktail you've ever tried in your life, but it'll do in a pinch. The beers they have on tap are a healthy combination of local brewery and big name booze like Guinness or Estella. I will also say, given the size of the burgers and Sunday Roast on the menu, you won't be leaving hungry if you come here for dinner.

Several TVs were in operation but appeared to all be tuned to the same channel. There appeared to be a decent outdoor beer garden, but it was too cold to try. We had drinks, bar snacks, and dinner. We sampled a few of their brews. Most of their drafts were the mass produced popular brands. They did have some craft beers in bottles. It looked like they had capacity for a larger selection. We shared their mac and cheese and falafel bar bites. The mac and cheese bites were fried cubes of mac and cheese. The cubes were enclosed in batter but the inside mac and cheese was still creamy. It came with a beetroot-based dip. The falafels were bite sized and came with hummus dip. For dinner I had the Londoner sausage, mash, and gravy. All of the food items were decent. The service was good. Four star rating is generous. The pub is a contribution to the neighborhood and I plan to return.
