We were one of only 2 parties here on a hot summer day ! It's probably a lot better when it has a crowd but we felt like we almost had to whisper. Staff were highly unfriendly and never saw them smile - almost looked like they had been forced to work against their will and customers were just too much for them!! Beer was great - I had a Kaleido IPA which was surprisingly good for a British IPA! They had pizza but kitchen was not open for lunch until 1pm. Great place but staff and atmosphere ruined it !!

I had been drinking Camden Hells Lager since I've been in the UK, so when we saw the Camden Town Brewery, we decided to stop and get a bit to eat. It is in a great spot, right on the Camden Locks, in the heart of the Camden Market. It isn't much to look at once you walk in, pretty standard. Same goes for the cocktail offering. The cocktails on their cocktail menu mostly contained Beefeater Gin, but they were out of Beefeater Gin and said they couldn't substitute for one of the other Gins they had in the wall, which was quite a few, so that was disappointing. We were a little worried there wasn't a kids menu but we got the Cotswold fried chicken, without hot sauce and it was incredible. My wife and I shared the fish and chips and it was very good as well. We were a little underwhelmed when we walked in but were very satisfied and pleased with the food. We would comeback for the ambiance but definitely would for the food.

That said, it's still a great spot to try some craft beers. Seating is limited so arrive early or late to score a seat once the crowds have died down!

The tour was a standard soup to nuts of the brewing process but it was throughout an old brewery with many of the "old" brewing containers on display. My only sad was that the y had their dumpsters right near the door and beer tailings really stink, so we didn't stay as long as we might have. The couple times I've been, I've found myself highly disappointed. The beer selection is a bit small for a supposed craft brewery. A couple pale ales, a lager, not much more. Make a Saturday of it. There's a little place to make multiple visits for cured meats just next door, and/or Maltby Street Market is a 10 minute walk, where you can get amazing pungent cheeses, fresh bread from St John, or even go hard: pregame with Gin cocktails, pick up some elaborate sandwiches and stash some dessert for drunken delight. You'll have their version of a "best bitter" along with some creative things like a smoked ale and a white stout. I had a white ale with notes of fresh orange that I liked a lot! Delicious beer aside, I don't think you'll find a friendlier place! We were greeted like old friends by Wildcat Willie and the other patrons. To make things even better prices are incredibly reasonable! They even make their own gin so non beer drinkers should be well cared for too. Only open Thursday 4 PM - 10:30 PM, Friday 12 PM - 10:30 PM, and Saturday 12 PM - 10:30 PM (as of 16 July 2023), I was glad to be free and in the area during operating hours. While the televisions inside blaring sport ball (the tennis?) weren't to my liking, staff were absolutely lovely, and so were the beers. I sampled tastes of the Pina Vs (Pineapple & Papaya Gose) and guest tap Yonder Brewing's Salted Caramel Mango Banana Daiquiri to start. The complex, layered Daiquiri won and at a half pint was the perfect amount. After that I tried the Panama Creature gluten free XPA (crisp and refreshing with balanced hippiness), an apple cider (sweet and funky on the nose), and old favourite Gosnell's honey mead (also on tap). Wanted a glass full of something new, but settled on the delightful mead in the end for another half pint because it just hit the spot. The friends I were with collectively tried the gose and all three specialist stouts on tap (Cake Metropolis Chocolate Fudge Cake Stout, Don't Quit Vanilla Pecan Pie Imperial Stout, and Crunch Peanut Butter Milk Stout). They ordered the gose, DQ, and Crunch. Unfortunately, all three of the latter are brewed with lactose so being lactose intolerant I could only have small tastes--which were scrumptious. We didn't order pizzas, but they smelled good! Sitting outdoors on a breezy day was a bit chilly but that was ok. We appreciated the shade covers to block the sun and only wished there was an outdoor non-smoking area for fresh air without the tobacco infusion. Win on the all-gender restrooms and the cans of beer to-go. Pretty sure I'll be back.

Within eyesight, the brewing kit and production lines sit- and are best viewed from the bar itself. For drinks, nine taps host a fresh selection of Hammerton's range, which represents a wide spectrum of styles- from their Blanche Belgian witbier to their Pentonville oyster stout. Their N7.7 is a DIPA that is particularly noteworthy, exhibiting a remarkably balanced flavour profile of tropical notes and a crisp bitter finish that cleverly disguises its ABV of nearly 8%. The setting is spacious and a bit rough and ready, but it's a great way to enjoy the beer- amongst convivial people, knowledgeable bar staff and in the environs of the brewing space. It's the same thing. And Redemption do a damn good pale ale too. That's actually surprisingly strong. Always forget that. And then fall over. Whoops. I haven't met anyone who didn't enjoy a pint of Redemption and they've done really well this year. You'll spot them in lots of decent pubs across London now (I sound like one of those adverts that says 'all good stockists', but it's true).
