My experience with Cannon Motors in Oxford, Mississippi, has been extremely disappointing. I brought my 2022 Chevrolet Traverse in for transmission repairs. Before the repair, my vehicle was not making any unusual exhaust noise. After the transmission work was completed, it developed a loud exhaust noise that had never been present before. I was later informed that the exhaust manifold/rear catalytic converter was damaged and that the repair would cost $1,932.67. Cannon Motors claims the damage was caused by a pre-existing condition related to modifications made to accommodate me as a disabled driver. Unfortunately, that explanation does not make sense based on the history of my vehicle. Over the years, this vehicle has undergone numerous oil changes, tire rotations, inspections, and maintenance visits. If this had truly been a pre-existing issue, it seems reasonable that it would have been discovered and documented long before now. Additionally, during the initial diagnosis of my transmission problem, I was never informed of any damage to the exhaust manifold or catalytic converter. The timing is difficult to ignore. I delivered a vehicle that was not making this noise, and after extensive transmission work requiring access underneath the vehicle, I was told that a major exhaust component was damaged and that I would be responsible for nearly $2,000 in repairs. To better understand the issue, I sought a second opinion from an independent repair shop. Oxford Tire Inc. diagnosed the same problem but estimated the repair at approximately $930--less than half of Cannon Motors' quoted price of $1,932.67. While different repair facilities may charge different rates, the large difference in cost raised additional concerns for me. As a disabled driver who relies on this specially modified vehicle for transportation, I expected a thorough investigation of my concerns and clear evidence supporting their conclusion. Instead, I feel my concerns were dismissed, and responsibility was shifted to me without sufficient explanation. While I cannot definitively prove when the damage occurred, I am extremely dissatisfied with how this situation has been handled. Between the unexplained appearance of the exhaust issue immediately following transmission repairs, the lack of prior documentation of any such problem, and the significantly lower estimate from another repair facility, I am left with more questions than answers. Based on my experience, I encourage anyone considering major repair work to carefully document the condition of their vehicle before service and ask detailed questions about any issues discovered during the repair process. I cannot recommend Cannon Motors based on my experience. read more

I had my truck break down while in Oxford for work. The first service rep was rude, and said he could not help me because they were too backed up. I called back out of desperation, and was SO thankful Jordan answered. She said come on in and let me see what I can to help. She was so friendly, with a super positive personality. She actually cared and was amazing to work with. If you have to go to Cannon- and you want a positive experience-ask for Jordan Berryhill in service. First of all to book an appointment only, I had to go through 3 different call, over 2 days period and was unable to book. I made a trip there in person to book my appointment. My appointment was for a smog test and oil change since I just moved to Mississippi and my car registration is with the state of California. In order to renew my sticker, I have to provide with a smog test. I personally confirmed if they does the smog test with Jake, the service technician and choose this place. When I arrived, there was no check engine light on. I handed the keys and was waiting, Jake calls me to show the check was on and on the dash it stated it was due to STABILITRAK. I know it is related to a sensor with ABS system. Upon no the option, I asked to see check it out. This was the time the guy made me sign a paper. When I dropped the keys with my ask, no paper was made to sign. There was no check engine light when I handed the keys keep this in mind. This is my first experience migrating from Canada. I went to leave for work at 8:15 and I call them during lunch around 1:15 pm-ish. Getting the service department was a nightmare. Jake tells me we don't do smog test now and he is like what is the sensor on you driver side knee on your. I told him, it came with the car and is with most of the Chevy volt. I notice this sensor as I test drove 4 different Chevy volt before buying. He starts to tell me it's an after market thing. I told him to connect with the dealership I got the car from in California. Jake calls me back and he tells me there is 10 different engine codes and the messed with that sensor. For them to look into it the will charge me another 300$. I am like hold on, this were not when I left. The engine like was clearly because of stabilitrak issue jotted on the dash. Stabilitrak is related to ABS system clearly and the oil change wasn't also done having the car over 3 hours and smog test which was confirmed can be done at this location, cannot be done? This is absurd! This is complete robbery. I instructed him that I don't want further things to be done and I only need the oil change. They call me back at 4pm to pickup the car. Upon returning, I got a bill of $318 for what?Only job was done was oil change. They charged me because of a problem they trigger? This is absurd and complete robbery. I can tell from this experience that they are not qualified technicians to work on EVs and hybrids. They don't even know the services they offer. I scheduled a service appointment by phone for 9/14/24 for an oil change/tire rotation For a 2024 GMC AT4. I arrived before the time of the appt. Upon arrival, the light for tire monitoring system came on. Now, I had already had 3 tire sensors replaced and the light keeps coming on. i was told we needed another new tire sensor, air filters and there was a recall. I waited for 6 1/2 hours for all this to get dome. The service lady was NOT professional at all with her mouth cussing and constantly complaining. Also, another service guy had told me to not worry about a tire sensor light that sometimes we just have tire problems. I have bought several vehicles from Cannon Chevrolet, but the lack of professionalism by the service in Oxford was totally unacceptable. read more

I took my car here because it was losing engine pressure they informed me that my sun roof drain was leaking water into the trunk and it shorted out the amp so I was charged 2300 dollars to fix it now my camera isn't working and it's going to cost me 300 dollars to fix it it worked fine before I left my car with them and they didn't put the insulation in the trunk back the way it was before they touched it my husband had to put things back in its right place everyone at the dealership are complete and I'm out of 23 hundred dollars and my back up camera doesn't work sincerely confused and screwed read more

If I could I would give zero stars. Bought my car here and I would think customer service wouldn't be a problem. There is a huge lack of communication and a lot of empty promises. They will say anything to get your money. Waited all day for a promised phone call and when I called they forwarded me to someone else who ended up "disconnecting" and when I called again there was no answer. I'm disappointed in how they treat their own customers. Highly recommend going somewhere else especially if you have something simple needed to be done to your car because they will take all day and ignore any of your requests. read more

Horrible customer service. First the owners son Tyler sold me a car full retail price sight unseen. 2013 model car. Brought it to me nasty with a bees nest on the block of the engine.a cracked windshield. DVD players in the head rest that he agreed to install. The head rest were yellow and the seats were white. He agreed to fix it all but i had to run around town to set all this up. I took the car to my local car dealership for a oil change and the car had 6 recalls of which 2 were safety recalls which is against federal law from what the dealership told me. I get all that fixed then the check engine light comes on and won't start every time I fuel up. I at that point have a bad feeling about a car with 50,000 miles on it. Tyler refuses to fix it and said he is not agreeing to anything until I confirmed the loan. All papers were signed but had one little thing to do and that was confirm the loan over the phone. I told him to come pick it up and he kept my $1,000 down payment. I really felt like i needed to be paid for all the running around and time spent trying to fix this lemon he sold me.
