Went here as I located an oil leak in my car. Had them take a look at it and they quoted me 3800 to repair the oil filter housing and left and right motor mounts. I asked them if they used oem parts. They said no. When doing my own research I found that the parts they quoted me on were more expensive than oem. (Always use OEM). Anyways I took it to a trusted shop in my hometown and they found nothing wrong w my motor mounts or my oil housing leaking. I fixed the oil leak for 50 cents. At the end of the day don't go here if you're not a local they know and will rinse your pockets. read more

Called to get a quote for hours to replace a slave cylinder/ throw out bearing. Quoted me $9,000. Aked for him to explain how he got to the number considering the part cost from $85-$130 and hours for work should be $1200 at most. Guy did not say a word for 20 seconds then said it was based off a previous customer who had a bunch of random stuff done which i don't need and then tried to sell the fact I needed them to diagnose the issue which i don't. read more

Update on my last review. These guys are only open four days a week. I had our car towed here on a Sunday not knowing they were closed on mondays. We don't live in MS and they will not work on our car for over two weeks even though this is an emergency. They said they do things by appt only. I am not sure I call this good business sense to not build in time for emergency situations. Kind of like a doctor who doesn't take call. I would chose another shop that is open five days a week and can triage appropriately. read more

I've used Oxford Auto Care a few times and have always been let down. They are knowledgeable and do good work, however they are extremely expensive and customer service has never been great. As a young female who drove a manual car, they seemed to prefer to speak to my boyfriend or father, whichever man I was with, when I would come check on the car. When they spoke directly to me about my car, they came across very demeaning and unfriendly. They are slow with services/repairs, which is not surprising as they are a smaller shop. Overall, I avoid going here mostly for the prices. read more

Had a wonderful experience with Oxford Auto Care this past week. After coming into their shop in a panic after my car started making all types of noise, I explained to them that it might be tough for me to afford any type of expensive repairs. They were able to diagnose the issue, coordinate with a muffler shop down the road who would be able to fix it for less money, and they actually drove my car to that muffler shop and back to get it fixed. On top of that, Oxford Auto Care paid the muffler shop directly for that repair and did not charge me for it- all I ended up paying for was an oil change and another small repair. Unbelievable customer service- I highly recommend this place and will be using them for all my car maintenance in the future. read more

Great shop! How do I know? I was pretty sure that the issue with my car was one thing - sure enough that I already bought the parts and dropped the car up there to have them installed. OAC got back to me the next day and told me what I thought was the issue was fine and the fix was actually something quite a bit cheaper. Now they could have told me the other thing was broken in addition and charged me for both as the actual problem was pretty plausible. But instead of getting a few more pesos out of me, they correctly diagnosed the problem and saved me a more expensive repair bill. Oh, and the replacement part they bought - within about $10 of what I would have paid for it off Amazon. Yeah, you read that right. A shop that actually won't milk you even when you're asking for it and doesn't charge a ridiculous overhead on the parts they buy. Highly recommend. read more

I have used OAC twice. The first time, I took it in primarily for rear brakes and rotors, which they replaced. I also, however, told them there was a loud creaking and popping in the front end and offered some ideas (I used to work as a mechanic). Now, I thought they might take my ideas into consideration and then check for themselves. No, they just replaced the part I mentioned, apparently with zero investigation, because the sound did not go away. Basically replaced sway bar links for no reason. The second time I brought it in, a month later, was for a leaking CV axle. That needed replacing, but I mentioned to them that the original problem was still there. They replaced the CV axle and claimed the creaking and popping was gone, but this was not true. Not only did they not fix the original issue, they left a bolt loose which I just found out this morning when I took my car to Oxford Tire of all places, where they immediately saw the underlying issue just by shaking the wheels a bit with the car on the lift. My car was dangerous to drive for about a year, and while I suspected as much, I do not have the time or tools to put my car on a lift and take a look for myself. I am lucky nothing fell off going down the highway. Oxford Tire was able to rectify this glaring issue in 5 minutes which OAC did not catch after 2 visits where I left my car for multiple days each time. I suspect they did not so much as drive my car around the block or make any attempt at identifying the underlying issue. I drove away this morning not hearing the loud creaking and popping, for the first time in 2 years. We rely on the integrity and good will of auto mechanics, because most of us do not have the time, tools, or knowledge to perform this work ourselves, even if we are familiar with cars. Oxford Auto Care appears, to me, to lack integrity and respect for their clients. They want to bill parts and labor and get you out the door; all the better if you have to come back in a month because the underlying issue wasn't fixed. This is predatory business, and it is sadly quite common. I would not recommend anyone to take their car here. I don't know why the reviews are so overwhelmingly positive -- I suspect it is some combination of a network of good friends, and people who simply don't know enough to realize they've been given subpar service at premium rates. One star for replacing the parts that I told them to, as this is quite literally the bare minimum. Even though they left a bolt loose on my suspension leaving me precariously close to catastrophic failure. read more

Wish I could give less stars This place had my car for about a full day before deciding to tell me (a freshman student 1000 miles away from home) that I would need some 1200 dollars of work done and gave me a choice. "Buy this part for 400 dollars, or this refurbished one for 300". Making it seem like I really had a choice in the matter, one call to my family mechanic back home and he said the entirety of the job should only cost 275. I was in Oxford and had a car problem- or so I thought. I was there with my college son. Unsure who to take the car to but have used Yelp in the past when I broke down. Oxford Auto Care had two good reviews. I dropped in around 11 AM and was told all technicians were about to leave for lunch. I could be seen in an hour. I chose to wait and was fit in immediately by a tech who waited to leave. They checked out my car. Aired up tires and sent me on my way. I was really nervous about using a garage I didn't know because I've never had to put my car in the shop before and was worried about being gouged and inconvenienced. Thankfully I was neither! I live near Atlanta and was in Oxford in November 2020 for a family matter. Upon leaving the hotel to travel home to Georgia, I noticed that all the warning lights on my dashboard were lit up. Since I have not lived in the area for quite some time, I did not know any local mechanics. I had no Internet connectivity at the time, but my sister was able to go online and identify some nearby shops. She began calling, and all of them wanted me to bring my vehicle in and leave it overnight. Since that was not option for me, she continued to call until she finally found Ryan at Oxford Auto Care. He immediately knew what the problem was and told her to have me come by. As soon as I drove in, he came out with a piece of equipment that he used to reset my dashboard codes and told me that the error messages were associated with the gas cap. In a Lexus, if the gas cap is not clicked or the gas cap becomes old and doesn't seal properly, it generates error codes that have to be reset by a machine. Ryan was absolutely correct in his diagnosis, and he did not even charge me to reset the codes. I was in and out in within a few minutes. I made it safely to Georgia, and after my mechanic here replaced the gas cap, I have had not had the problem again. I truly appreciate Ryan's willingness to help me get on my way home. I highly recommend Oxford Auto Care. If we ever need a mechanic in the future while in Oxford, or if we one day get to move back to the area, we will definitely go to Ryan again. read more

In the middle of a road trip, from Chicago to The Gulf, my wife and I drove into Oxford on a Sunday night . Our van had been acting up all day with electrical problems. Newly retired and excited to be in this beautiful city but very concerned about our vehicle and the rest of our trip. On Monday morning I called the dealer, who told me he might get to it by Wednesday. Looked around at reviews and decided to take it here. Ryan immedietely came across to me as a very honest and trustworthy person. He explained in detail what the problem was and what was neccessary to fix it. Gave me a ride back to my hotel and put my mind at ease enough to enjoy my stay. I'd also worried about my possessions in my vehicle as my wife and I were travelling for an extended period and had many valuables with us. The gentleman I spoke to, Ryan, was so pleasant and friendly and although they didn't get many cars like ours, he instilled confidence that they could handle the problem. Two hours later the problem was fixed! My husband works for a high end auto manufacturer so our standards are high for service.
