Took my wife's car in for engine light. Used my FIXD to check the code prior to dropping off. Spoke with Karen on the phone about checking light, oil change and any other items they see need addressing. Dropped the car off using night drop. Karen called early the next morning and let me know what was found. She asked if the car hit a curb. I confirmed yes. She let me know the strut was out of the knuckle. She said to come in and take a look at the damage and take pictures. She recommended that i call my insurance company and see if they would cover the costs. I appreciated that, and did. I just called for general information and these people were rude and so obnoxious. I was so out done. They wouldn't let me speak or explain to them the problems I was having with my vehicle. Not sure why you seem to have had a bad experience. Could it be that the other items quoted were items that were past their service life and at a point of failing in the near future. I do most of the basic work on my BMW and take it to Doc for the more complicated work. He has always done a excellent job and his prices are great. Please Read-Do not take your car to this shop. Pay special attention if you have a student at Ole Miss. My daughter's 2001 325 died and she had it towed to Doc's. Doc told me it would be $2350 to fix. Ouch! We live in Atlanta and have a BMW mechanic that we've been going to for years. We obviously couldn't tow the car 6 hours to Atlanta so I asked my mechanic if he'd mind taking a look at the estimate. My mechanic reviewed the estimate and told me Doc was obviously scamming me. He saw a bright red flag because Doc claimed there were 3 unrelated major malfunctions, all of which would have caused the car to shut-down. Because the parts were unrelated it would be highly unlikely all 3 things would break at once. My mechanic was actually mad Doc was so unethical and offered to make some calls to find another mechanic in Oxford. Unfortunately, he struck out. Desperate to find someone, I made another attempt to find someone remotely close to Oxford. I talked to a mechanic who told me he doesn't touch imports and asked if he could recommend someone who works does. He said "well you don't want to take it to Doc's because he'll rip you off." He suggested I instead tow the car to Memphis and told me even with a $400 tow it would most likely cheaper than Docs. I should mention he mentioned another mechanics who works on BMW's in Oxford and said they were two of a kind. (don't remember the name) Anyhow, I found a mechanic with good yelp reviews in Memphis and had the car towed. The new quote was $600 plus $350 for the tow. I should note this quote included a labor charge for putting the car back together. (When Doc found out he wasn't getting my business he put the parts he had removed in a box on the front seat. He told me the parts were broken. I later found out this wasn't true.) The numbers: Doc's Bimer $2,350 Repair Estimate $200 charge for the estimate b/c Doc didn't do the repairs. Tow charge to Memphis $350 Memphis Repair Estimate: $600 I had the oil changed and the Memphis mechanic charged me some labor so the actual repair was about $450. Knowing this, Doc's estimate was 6 times higher than the mechanic in Memphis. I'm writing this because I'm sure my daughter wasn't the first student to take her import to Doc's and won't be the last. These people are extremely rude and very unprofessional. I had to leave town for an emergency while my appointment was already scheduled with them. I called a couple of days later to reschedule and they were setting it off on the phone. Complaining to me about how I didn't cancel my appointment because I didn't call. First of all if u have a client that makes a appointment with you, you should probably call and verify with you're client if they are coming. These people are over priced and will never get a dollar from me. Don't waste ur time with People that don't want to help. They should just shut down. They don't know what they are doing. read more

Just called Doc's Bimmer to ask about registering a battery for my daughter's car. He told me he would sell me the battery, install it, and register it for around $300. I informed him that I would order the appropriate battery and have my daughter bring it in and just wanted him to install it and register it. Now his story changed: "We'll I really cant do that, I just had eye surgery and the Doctor told me not to be lifting anything heavy" Really?... How were you gonna install the battery that you wanted to sell me? Are your batteries special and light as feathers??? I thought I'd give it one more shot... How much to just register it? I'll have someone else install it. His response: "Well' I don't want to get involved in that" Guess what?... your not gonna get involved with my wallet either, my daughter's car is never going there! read more

Doc knows BMWs better than BMW themselves. Any jackleg can throw a part on a car for cheap. A true professional like Doc will FIX the car. His knowledge and experience will help keep your car on the road instead of "band aids" meant to take your money and get you just far enough away to be out of site. What terrific people! We are parents from Rhode Island of a son that attends Ole Miss. We were skeptical but agreed to let him drive his car to school (1300 miles away) because we were sure at some point, the car would need mechanical work and BMW's are sophisticated and expensive to repair. Additionally, there are no BMW dealerships in Oxford. Well, sure enough the car broke down. I researched and found Doc. Long story short, we had his BMW in for mechanical work twice. Each time, I verified the work Doc wanted to do with my local BMW dealership and each time they agreed with Doc's assessment. Doc and Karen were spot on, did the work to exact BMW specifications with genuine BMW parts and were reasonably priced. Doc will be honest, fair and he takes exceptional pride in his work. More importantly they are kind, wonderful people. These days, that is hard to find!! I would recommend them without hesitation! read more

Please Read- DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR TO DOC'S BIMMER LOCATED AT 2614 W OXFORD LOOP, OXFORD, MS, 38655!!! I had gone to Doc's before and while I knew it was overpriced, they were parts I needed. I had never had a overly friendly experience working with Doc's Bimmer, but nothing was worse than the last time I recently took my car there. After being told that a simple coil replacement would be $500, with the average coil price being around $36 I was taken aback. I had him talk to a family member to further discuss the pricing and car issues, and when they asked Doc simple questions about the pricing charges, he not only had no explanation of why the prices were so high, he also cursed them out and proceeded to hang up on them. As I went to go pick up my car, I received the same type of rude attitude. When I arrived, I was told I could not get my car back due to a dead parked car being behind mine. After that situation was fixed and my car was moved, I was told to never come back due to the fact I was not going to deal with paying such an outrageous price.. I have never been treated with such disrespect, especially by a business owner. I hope this helps another person avoid dealing with a man that literally makes his FORTUNE off of scamming college students who have nowhere else to go to get their car fixed. I would rather not have a running car than have to deal with Doc's Bimmer again. read more
