I used to think italian food was overrated, the same three basic ingredients arranged in different shapes. In all honesty it was on me for thinking the travesty we call italian food in the bay area is representative of what they have in the old country. The pasta is fresh, perfectly al dente every time, square cut noodles are the superior shape. Service is great here, they're super patient with me considering i cant speak any italian. The just plop a large bowl of bread in front of you to munch on as you work your way through the menu. Alot of the daily specials are not on the menu so it's best to have someone who is familiar with the language with you as to avoid confusion. I didnt even know they could make a lemon version of tiramisu. If I am ever back in italy, I will definitely check this place out once again.

The first thing you see when you enter the door is…read moreall the awards and certifications from TripAdvisor...my first reaction was to look for the Yelp logo of course ;) but couldn't find one :/ Anyways, I continued and the next thing you see is all these wine bottle and I can't stop myself from taking a look into the labels. Pretty good wine produced in the wine yards nearby...of course! And some of the are worth over 2000€ The food, oh my the food! No wonder they have so many awards...! The antipasti roast beef with Tuna sauce was amazing! I like the rare combinations, like fish with meat or like the main course black rice with prawns and Gorgonzola sauce Mixing cheese with fish is something very rare in Italy but this was unbelievably good And now to the dessert! My colleague took the tiramisu and he's face said it all! He'd never had something so creamy and delicious in his life. I regret that I didn't took the last tiramisu piece, that he by the way got for free because it was the last piece (!) However, my new favorite dessert is the Bonet. Oh my gosh! So creamy, so much chocolate, it's like kissing the clouds! Try it out!

At La Rima creativity is perfectly used: results are incredible fusions of perfumes and tastes. All the dishes we had, besides an excellent presentation, have been wonderful discoveries, like the risotto with blueberries, licorice and smoked eel, the pasta with Jerusalem artichokes and duck speck, the red mullets with tapenade and celeriac sauce, the monkfish with saffron sauce. Also the wine list has a lot of unknown and interesting proposals, like the excellent Faius we choose, a great blend of Fiano, Greco and Coda di Volpe grapes, balanced, persistent, with a rich mixture of tastes: mint, vanilla, oak, ... Beside this, the dining room is calm and relaxing: right distance between tables, good music, not too loud. Finally a great service, with complementary starters, right speed, friendly and expert staff, ready to provide all info and curiosities on wines and dishes. We will certainly come back!
