It is old, so there were no elevators, which I don't mind (love anything old and creepy honestly) but we were on the third floor, thankfully we were only staying for two nights, so I didn't bring much, but also kinda bit me in the ass later, as the hotel doesn't offer many toiletries. Literal bars of soap the size of my fingertips and packets of shampoo and conditioner. We ended up just buying our own at the store nearby. The shower curtain was disgusting and covered in mildew and mold, the toilet seat was covered in a yellow grime, and the blinds for the windows in the bathroom, and bedroom were caked in dusts. We didn't have a remote for the tv they offered, rather, we had a remote, but not the right one. You could hear EVERYTHING that went on around you. My boyfriend and I woke up probably every thirty minutes, which was even better because we were right next to the stairs, so literally anyone walking up those stairs you could hear them, and we figured they could probably hear us talking at any point. Super fun. It's a nice on the outside hotel, but the insides rough, highly recommend somewhere else!!

Ernie and Cathy are wonderful hosts and it's amazing they can run such a complex operation as a small family. We happened to pick the best weekend as there is a lot of snow and it was snowing during the lantern lit sleigh ride. The snow on the tall pines was beautiful and the sleigh ride was a very nice half hour through the woods. The history and stories would be loved by all who enjoy the Adirondacks.

To note for light sleepers who are not early risers: The suite is adjacent to the kitchen, so it is fairly easy to hear the early morning food prep, particularly from the room with the twin beds. This is extremely unhygienic as bed bugs burrow into the mattress. Since there is a bed bug infestation issue, why would management decide to skimp on a mattress cover to help consumers not be bitten by bugs burrowing in their unprotected mattress? This is cheap and thoughtless. Very disappointed and disgusted. My and my partner's backs are literally covered with bites and itch all night long. So horrible, shame on you.
