I went to trainers before him which were horrible experiences, was told to put down my older pitbull and that she was too old to train, that people wouldn't train her because she's a pitbull, and all Mike's recommendations & teaching helped us turn things around for her. If you are worried about using a prong collar just test it out on yourself first it doesn't hurt, same with a shock collar, I mean that one stings but it's nothing unbearable which made me feel better about using them on my ladies. The facility is clean and well-maintained. The prices are fair as well. Rudy seemed okay except for smelling kind of bad when we get him home too. Because of this, we bore with the attitude of the kennel owner/ operator, Bernie. He has always had this way of making us feel we are bugging him whenever we talk to him. Mind you, we're not the type to call in to check on our dog constantly while we are away. In fact, we've never done that at all. We have a very well-behaved, low maintenance dog. The thing we do though is occasionally forget his complex hours of operation. We leave our dog 2-3x/ year so it really is not something we have committed to memory. He also neither have his hours on his card (which we have on the ref constantly nor does he have it on his webpage) At any rate, we always called ahead of time to make reservations or when we end up coming back early and want to claim our dog sooner. This last time was last week. We back a day early. We called up from the road that morning asking if we could pick Rudy up later that day at around 1 pm. He was all huffy about our proposed time of of pick-up does not work with his hours. We immediately apologized and said it was fine, we will pick him up at 5 pm instead. Mind you, this was not a back and forth conversation where we insisted on the time we wanted. We just said it once, and like any sane person would have done, he could have just reminded us about his hours without the attitude. Pick up time comes, my husband got there and was then attacked by bad-mood Bernie immediately. He pointed to the 48 hour cancellation notice in the wall and told him he was lucky he is not charging him the extra day. My husband was ready to apologize and pay for the extra day anyway, but Bernie just went on and on about our "mistakes". At any rate, my husband gave him some choice words about his poor attitude as a business owner, paid him in full, IN CASH, like we always do, and took our Rudy home. At home, I immediately noted how emaciated our dog looked. Sure enough, he went down from his usual vet recommended weight of 17 lbs to a little less than 15 - in 10 days! He has lost a lot of chest and leg muscles and was shivering even in our warm house. It has been horribly cold the past week, I am willing to bet that the heat was not turned on so that Rudy had to shiver away some two lbs to keep warm. We will never go back to this place EVER!

They never contacted me at all over the 3 days .. I called 8 times and emailed them . they never returned my calls . I had to have someone come and check to make sure they were here feeding my dogs . 2. the crated my dogs together in a crate that I NEVER EVER told them to do . They did not dispense the snacks I left on the counter for the dogs . They felt they should only get what THEY FELT they should get , not what I asked they to give them . I finally received an email from them at 6:30pm on Sunday (after I had told them I would be home at 6PM) Telling me She was too busy with other animals and her AVON to send me updates or answer my calls. I was 7 hours away . and trusted these people . Instead I was stressed and had the police watching my home . I requested my money back . and am waiting for as I write this Also she will state about Peanut butter on A counter .. no where near the dog treats that are clearly marked and labeled which were covered ... The peanut butter was mine !!! not for the dogs ... I am taking her to court .

It smelled as though the kennel hadn't been cleaned in MONTHS. Although I had misgivings about turning over my dogs to the older woman who greeted us, I didn't have much of a choice as it was too late for me to make an appointment anywhere else (my fiance and I were going to Six Flags Great Adventure for the day). When we went to pick up the dogs, I asked about whether they had interacted with any of the other dogs, and the lady VERY CURTLY answered "No, they don't play with other dogs. You wouldn't want your dog to be returned half-eaten, would you?" Not once did she mention whether or not my dogs had been walked or let out. When the lady went to the back to get my dogs, I could hear a lot of other dogs barking. Even though the lady knew we were standing right outside the door, she had absolutely no problem yelling at the barking dogs and telling them repeatedly to "SHUT UP!!!" If this is how she's treating the dogs when there are paying customers PRESENT, what is she doing when there AREN'T customers around?! She finally got my dogs, and my puppy immediately came running out, whimpering and shaking. He proceeded to pee all over their floor (as though he hadn't been let out all day). My older dog wouldn't even come out of the kennel because he was terrified. I had to go into the back and let him see my face so that he would actually come out. When he finally did come out to greet me, he was also shaking. When I took them outside to wait for my receipt, my older dog relieved himself as though he had been holding in his pee all day. He peed for literally about 30 seconds straight (something he only does in the morning, when he first wakes up). I will NEVER take my dogs to this place again. At best, the dogs are locked up all day and neglected. I don't even want to THINK about what the worst is that they do to these poor dogs. It's an absolutely HORRIBLE kennel that should be shut down immediately.
