Everyone here on Yelp knows that I'm neurotic when it comes to who I trust my dogs with. When LadyBug became too cranky to romp the stomping grounds at her fabulous daycare in Newmarket (see Doggieville review), I decided the diva needed a more personalized environment. That's when Canine Movement came highly recommended by one of my close friends. Christina is on my very small list of people I trust with LadyBug. She is always on time and is extremely professional. She knows a lot about behaviour and knows how to handle my bossy diva with positive reinforcement when she gets a bit out of hand. I would highly recommend Canine Movement and would trust all my animals with Christina! read more

Established in 2014.

With more than 10 years working with dogs, Christina brings with her a background in training, dog on dog play, and socialization. Officiated in 2014, Canine Movement specializes in working with young, active dogs in need of stimulation and exercise. Overnight boarding is a service offered to regular clients in a cage free home environment.

Meet the Business Owner: Christina M.

Owner Christina Mastronardi has been working with dogs for over 10 years, assists weekly in Puppy, Manners 1 and 2 classes and is actively working towards her Certified Professional Dog Trainer (CPDT) designation. When not training, she works part-time at a well established daycare facility in Markham where she has spent over 700 hours supervising and guiding dogs in group play. Christina is Pet First Aid certified and has started advanced obedience training with her 2 year old male lab mix, Thor in preparation for his Canine Good Neighbor (CGN) test.

Their flooring is rubber and is great for dogs because there's so much traction so that they can run and play. They have a large area for big dogs (Houndtown) and a large are for small dogs & pups (SmallVille). When it comes down to my pugs, I am absolutely neurotic and there are only a limited handful of people I trust to take care of my dogs. Doggieville has certainly made that list. Janine & her team are excellent and treat all their citizens with lots of love and care. My little LadyBug absolutely loves the place and every time we go there, she completely forgets that I exist and bounces her way into their play area. She loves the place and as soon as we exit the highway, she makes it known with her crazy pug screams, that we are approaching daycare. Our OG a groomer sadly closed her shop and never reopened. When we brought home our newest furbaby 10 months ago, instinctively, I took her for grooming to another spot where we used to take our last pup. I received a few recommendations and one of them came highly recommended by a friend and fellow trusted dog owner. This is how we arrived at Q Studio. Quaint little shop tucked away beside Roll Me Up Ice Cream and a hair salon on Main Street Markham. It is a small shop, but clean and well maintained. Our furbaby loves her visits to the shop. Her grooming is always neat and exactly what we discussed on her very first visit. They are very consistent with the quality of grooming and if it is going to take 2 hrs, they are very communicative with letting us know if she is almost done or may take a bit longer. Pricing is great for the services and no hidden costs or charges.
