Fortunately, Pierre Herme still sells their macarons at Nice Airport. Though I am skeptical about buying macarons at the airport, after buying a bad batch of macarons (not from Pierre Herme) once before a flight. Not sure if it was because I bought them later in the day or because flying does something to the quality. I would recommend eating them sooner than later, in any case.

Similar to my previous review of its Paris counterparts definitely try these: +orange blossom - has that slight flowery scent and filled with some citrusy light cream ++jasmine - omg. If you like jasmine tea this is delicious and tastes like they captured jasmine into this delicious shimmery macaron ++hazelnut praline - it tastes like NUTELLA so good ++rose and rose litchi (lychee)- it tastes like I'm actually eating a soft crumbly melt in your mouth flower, deliciouS

I recommend that you step in and sample some of the product and plan what you will take home. We ended up stopping by three times to visit. Perfect discovery.

The staff are very friendly and clearly passionate about their craft, which adds so much to the visit. The chocolates are outstanding, rich, fragrant, and beautifully made. Their candied fruits are amazing as well, and there are plenty of samples so you can try different things before choosing. Everything feels traditional, thoughtful, and very French in the best way. It's the perfect spot to experience classic sweets in a gorgeous setting. A must-visit if you're exploring Old Nice or want to bring home something special.

The caramel was our favorite and the close second was the yogurt with berry! We are regretting not getting a larger pack. Be back when we feel like it!" Viva la France!!!) I think Jeff de Bruges is a chain, and in fact, it seems they have several locations in Nice alone, but this is the one WE found. Compared to some other chocolateries we have visited, the display case was a bit small and the selection was not as overwhelming as some others, but I just tasted a sample of our bounty from there (a milk chocolate with caramel filling - which literally just poured out into my mouth when I took a bite. WOW!) and I think we will be pleased with the goodies we bought there. Later in our meanderings, we saw a local with a Jeff de Bruges bag. We took that as a good sign. As I work through the reviews in this leg of our "confection research," I suspect I will make several references to my crashing through these interactions with my broken French. In this case, the woman behind the counter was very sweet and helpful. I think she had excellent English, but she seemed to realize I was trying to practice my French and stayed in the game. Of all the chocolate shops we visited that day, she took the prize as friendliest chocolatier of the day. (Though a lovely older man in a subsequent review gave her a good run for that title!) They also have chocolate bar/tablets, if you just want to get the goods and run! You have options here. We like that.
