I went to get my nails done and went to Candy Nails, 1st time I went there. It sounded like a fun place. If this place was the last place on earth to have your nails done, I guess that I would never get them done. When I went in I told the older lady that I didn't want long nails and I was getting a new set. I asked her twice that I wanted them shorter and she got so mad at me that she started being rough and then she didn't shape them. They were all lope sided and I asked her to make them square and oval and they wound up being square and lope sided. They were so bad that I had to stop at another place to have them fixed called Infinity Spa and Nails. It's ridiculous that you pay $60 dollars to have your nails done and they don't care and I'm the type of person that doesn't usually make a fuss but I'm going to start cause I'm getting tired of people giving you Shitty service. I hate giving bad reviews but I felt that I had to do this one. It took me a week cause I didn't want to right a bad review cause we use to be a small business owner. We are lucky to have Candy's Spa in White Salmon! Candy and her husband are caring, funny, and professional. I love the massage chairs, the foot and calf massage and the detailed pedicure. They are detailed oriented and are professional when it comes to using sterile tools and liners in the soaking feet tub. Lots of plants and a tv to watch while you enjoy your treatment. These people are delightful and friendly and we are incredibly lucky to have them running their business in our little local neighborhood! They drive upriver from Portland through the gorge nearly every day to be open here just to take care of our needs. Their services are affordable. Their skills are mad and the nail polish lasts long enough to justify spoiling yourself. I think that a visit to this place is rejuvenating! So don't miss your chance to be pampered! Whatever you do, DONT get GEL nails! This is the WORST nail experience ever. Candy's came highly recommended, in fact my friend made the appt. for me. I agree with the other reviews, Candy and her husband are really sweet people, however, HE cannot do nails. First, the pedicure... he was very rough and I had to keep saying ouch. At one point, I even told him he was hurting me and he laughed like I was kidding. No. I was not, I thought I was going to have a big bruise on my calf. The good news is that it has been over a week and my toes still look great so had it not been for my manicure nightmare, I would probably give them a 3 or 4 rating. The nightmare begins... I had Gel nails on and he acted like he had never worked with them before. I always get Gel nails and it has never been a problem. Generally, they treat it like a fill and use sanders to smooth it out before applying the new coat. I should have know something was up when he returned from the back with two big bowls of nail polish remover - one for each hand and told me to soak. My hands were in there for a looooong time. I kept asking him if it was long enough, I was worried about my hands, little did I know it was destroying my nails. He just dismissed my concerns and kept doing my pedicure. Then when my pedi was almost finished, he finally took my hands out of the acetone and removed the previous gel which came right off - in fact most of it was floating in the acetone. I asked for some lotion because my hands felt so dry and sore from soaking in what is basically a mild acid. Then Candy came and did my Gel manicure. Typically Gel nails last several weeks, they dont break or chip - that is the beauty of it. You dont need to get them redone until they grow out. Not this time - my nails are all ripping - I say ripping because its not like a typical break or chip, They are rippling below the nail-line, in the middle of my nail bed so I am having to put bandaids on my fingers until they grow out long enough to cut the ripped part off. It is so painful and annoying. can you imagine swimming, or doing anything halfway athletic with bandaids on your fingers? The first nail ripped within days, I thought it was a fluke, but then when the second one ripped, I cut the rest of them down. It didn't help, if there is an edge to catch they will tear. I just ripped half my pinky nail off when changing my clothes. They are so frail and damaged that the slightest tension rips them apart. Now 10 days later 5 of my nails are ruined, all torn below the nail line. Can you imagine how ridiculous I look with bandaids on my fingers??? Plus, how long is this going to take to fix? Months??? I suspect it was soaking them so long is such a strong solution, what else could it be? Regardless, I am irate. This is inexcusable. I will never frequent this business again. read more
