I can't believe I didn't know this place existed until just a couple weeks ago when I saw it on…read moreYelp. I have a major sweet tooth, I probably bleed chocolate. So needless to say, this went up to the top of my queue. Finally, I visited last week around 11:15am just after they opened and had a great experience, and of course walked out with some delicious truffles. The owner was very friendly and talked to us about the variety of chocolates, where they're sourced, which ones he prefers etc. They sell some local artisan products/merch (soaps, cards, etc) as well. After much internal struggle (I wanted everything), I settled on an 8 count of truffles and got some citrusy, caramel, and alcohol-infused flavors. I really liked the strawberry champagne and tangerine truffles. I will definitely return to satiate my sweet tooth. This place also does private chocolatier classes (truffles, molds, bars etc) for groups of 2-10 people. They don't have a set schedule, you just call to set a time that works well for you. Definitely something else I would be interested in checking out.

This small place offers a very nice array of flavored, hand crafted chocolate bars, bonbons, and more, crafted by folks who care about what they are creating! I tried : bars - Milk Chocolate, Sea Salt, and Ocean Tide (sea salt and carmel). All 3 were excellent, but the Milk Chocolate is the very best of the lot - it rivals any I tasted in Europe. The sea salt is excellent, even a bit addictive with the hook at the end of a bite. That's the good news, the bad news is that each bar is 2.2 ounces and costs $10 each! Frankly, that is value prohibitive for many folks - there is little value here! Obviously, many see this differently, but I'll stay with my opinion! Ambiance - 4 Food - 4.5 Service - 5 Value - 2

This is such a quaint, peaceful little farm! It's not far from Winston-Salem and perfectly located…read moreif you're heading back to the city after hiking around Hanging Rock State Park. From the moment we arrived, we could tell it's a place that is truly loved and cared for. The owners walked over to greet us, showing us the short-haired sheep, goats, donkeys, runner ducks, turkeys, and three beautiful Great Pyrenees dogs--all of whom seem well loved and completely at home. The owner shared that he's been here since 1992 (a former city kid who always dreamed of having a farm like his grandparents did), and that lifelong dream truly shows in every detail. When he invited us into the store, it felt like discovering a treasure chest. It's small, but packed with thoughtfully curated goodies: handmade soaps from multiple local makers, a variety of local honeys, fresh goat cheese produced on the farm, Amish butter from Ohio, Amish jams, goat-la-to (a goat-milk gelato that's unique to this farm), a variety of meats, candles made by local Boy Scouts, Christmas ornaments, and books and toys for children. What really stood out was how deeply the owner knows and loves everything he sells. He happily shared stories, explained the different textures of the cheeses, and talked through how he would cook each type of meat. We picked up some cheese, lamb, and goat-la-to--which we ended up finishing on the drive because it was so unique and delicious, like shaved ice topped with creamy milk and vanilla. We cannot recommend visiting this farm enough--not only for the fairly priced, high-quality products, but also for its strong commitment to supporting other local businesses (all the products are clearly marked with their sources) and, most of all, the genuine passion behind it. So much of the space is thoughtfully designed with children and families in mind. When we noticed the turkeys, the owner explained that they aren't "commercial"; they keep a few simply because kids enjoy seeing them, along with the runner ducks. The baby goats are brought out occasionally so visitors can pet them, and it's obvious how gently and thoughtfully the animals are treated--the goats clearly loved being petted and even ran over to us. This little farm is the what I think of when I see someone pours heart and lifelong passion into their work. Highly recommend anyone with an interest in farm animals, dairy products, or local goods to stop by and see it!!

The shelves are jam-packed with Middle Eastern foods including dates, Turkish apricots, baklava, halva, and other dried fruits, nuts and pastries. The canned goods are plentiful from tuna, sardines, pickled fruits and vegetables, hot sauces, spices and so much more. There's a good selection of cold drinks, yogurts, mango lassi, juices and cheeses. There are coffees and teas, and even a frozen food area with meat dishes, flatbreads, pitas and more. The highlight of this market were the two men working there. When we first walked in we stopped at the meat deli case which features chicken, beef, lamb and goat. The prices are very reasonable compared to the grocery stores. T-bone steaks for 7.99 per pound, Ribeyes 9.99 and filet mignon for 12.99. We weren't there for more than 10 seconds when the man says, "we've got the freshest meat in Winston-Salem. Come, follow me!" He took me through their kitchen/meat butchering area to the walk in cooler where they have sides of beef and lamb hanging in the cooler. It was nice to get a behind the scenes tour and the place was very clean as well. The other man at the register seemed less confident in his English, but when checking out, I picked up what looked like a stick in a clear package. Not knowing what it was, I put it down. He picked it up, cut it open, began shaving the bark off the outside and handed it to me. He said "My God says, use to clean teeth. Toothbrush." And he gave it to me. Obviously I had to hop on Google to find out it's name: The miswak (miswaak, siwak, sewak, Arabic: سواك or مسواك) is a teeth-cleaning twig made from the Salvadora persica tree (known as arāk, أراك, in Arabic). It is reputed to have been used over 7,000 years ago. Yeah, they have those there too. If you find joy in wandering through Super G Mart, Super Compare Foods or any international foods market, you'll like this place like I did. I just wish they had fresh made foods for a quick lunch.
