What a delightful experience l had at this mom and pop chocolatier. While my eyes were gazing on the bon bons, bars, and other items l chatted w the owners about their pay it forward efforts to local farms and various shops in our area and about the international farms who produce the cocoa beans they source to make their chocolate goodies. Very interesting! For something different, they offer chocolate making classes, l may come back for that especially if l get samples! If you need to feed your sweet tooth stop in, pick a treat or two and have a nice talk w the owners and their cocoa beans backstory.

I had just had some of my favorite pizza at A Slice of Napoli and before getting in my car, spotted this chocolatier across the parking lot and said "Hey, I could really go for something sweet, let me check this place out" Well I'm so glad I did. The first thing that hits you as you walk into Brasstown is the smell of roasting cocoa beans. The owners Rom and Barbara purchase fair-trade cacao beans from various regions of the world, roast them on premises, process them into chocolate, and wrap them and place them on shelves for us to enjoy! This is true boutique chocolate, Rom was the one helping me make my selections, and he could tell me about all the different flavor profiles available in the different bars he had for sale. There is so much to know about simple cacao beans and how their growing process influences the taste of the final product, and this mans knows them all like a producer of fine wine. I went with a bar of the Peruvian Ucayali 70% dark. I tell you what. You have never tasted a more robust and flavorful dark chocolate bar in your life. I was able to control myself somewhat and break a few pieces off each day for a few days. I also purchased a 4 pack of bon bons, coconut, bourbon honey, salted caramel, and raspberry. My favorite was definitely the coconut, it was like biting into what I can only describe as the world most artisanal Mounds bar. All were delicious. Be prepared to pay a premium for this chocolate, but also expect incredible premium flavor too. Also know that you are directly supporting both a local business, but also, farmers in Latin and South America practicing sustainable farming and getting a proper share of the proceeds. So head down to Country Club road and get you some of the best chocolate money can buy, it's important to treat yourself, especially right now!

(4.5 stars) Coming from the chocolate desert that is High Point, Brasstown Chocolate was a welcome find that reminded me of Foster Hobbs Coffee: a small concern that uses high-quality ingredients and takes its products seriously without a hint of elitism. When my wife and I visited, we were impressed by Brasstown's selection: more than half a dozen bars and at least as many bon-bon flavors. The chocolates in question use organic fair-trade cacao beans, and each country of origin lends the resulting chocolate a different flavor profile. Considering the ingredient quality, pricing was more affordable than expected: we lucked out and hit a $1 apiece sale on the bon-bons (bars run under $10). A sampler thereof and a chili bar made for a promising haul. The bon-bons did not disappoint. From amaretto to hazelnut to Irish cream, each flavor was recognizable - and tasty. The chili bar was more subdued than others I've had, offering a little bit of heat on the back end. Black Mountain remains my go-to chocolate spot for Winston visits, but for those who live in town, Brasstown's product quality, flavor assortment, and customer service make it absolutely worth visiting.

Nice place, nicer people, and extensive bon bon selections and variety of bars to tempt your sweet tooth... Godiva who? I tried the cappuccino and the bavarian bon bons, and the high quality and flavor of each were instantly apparent. The cappuccino's coffee notes were evident. The bavarian was impressively smooth, without the hash bitterness that can sometimes accompany a dark variety. I'm looking forward to future visits when I'm on a mission to pick up unique gifts to enjoy on special occasions, especially with all the chocoholics in the family!

When you reach for the door handle, brace yourself because when you open the door BAM!!! the aroma of chocolate hits you even through your mask and your mouth will water. We each bought the 4 pack of Bon-Bons. You can choose your flavors so I chose, coconut, chocolate and to prevent a fight, 2 of the Bavarian creams. The size is perfect so you can pop the whole thing right in - or you can choose to savor it and bite it. I'm a popper, you only live once. To be clear, this is a few steps above "homemade" candy. They literally craft their candy from the raw cacao bean all the way to delicious, beautiful morsels. If I had to choose one word to describe the taste... I would say: puredecadencethatmeltsinyourmouth. These owners were very friendly and informative. You may want to follow them on Facebook because after Covid, they plan to have candy making classes! @yelpnctriad. @brasstown_chocolate

This is one of the most charming shops I've been to! The owner was super helpful I went in for some chocolate and didn't even know they also sell soaps and honeys. The display of chocolate has so many choices that are not only aesthetically appealing but the perfect bite sized piece. They also have a mixture of chocolate milk/dark etc. I tried the bourbon honey and chocolate cream and liked both. I think this is the perfect size treat for when you're craving a bit of chocolate and don't want to overdo it. I will absolutely be back.

INTRO: Basically a local chocolate factory in the backyard of Winston-Salem! All of their chocolates are manufactured from bean to bar in Winston-Salem, and they have a wide assortment of flavors, including peach & mango, cranberry & orange, key lime & toasted coconut, and more. They have chocolate-making classes that people can sign up for as well! DESSERT 1: Chocolate bar ($7.00) - I opted for the peach & mango bar, and it was definitely the right move. The peach and mango flavors were outstanding, and the chocolate itself was extremely rich. I honestly couldn't believe how much fruit flavor I was getting from a chocolate bar. Check them out if you're in the area! (8/10) PARKING: Tons of parking in the parking lot! WORTH IT? YES, they source their cocoa beans from all other the world, including Tanzania, Peru, and Ecuador, and manufacture their chocolate IN WINSTON-SALEM. (Overall 7.5/10 - lots of potential!)

    Such a cute box!

I love this place! Just found out about them recently and will be going back soon to purchase more chocolates for Mother's Day. The story of how they started, and where they source their cocoa beans is so neat, considering each country gives a different flavor and aroma. All their beans are fair trade, which I support 100%. The owners are very kind and knowledgeable of all things chocolate. Their bars are delicious, unique and you can definitely tell they are high quality. These are not your average bars! My favorite item though is their coconut bon bons. I love anything coconut and these hit the spot. They also serve coffee and hot chocolate and have additional items like fudge, truffles, cookies, etc. My favorite part of the store is the smell when you walk in. You'll see. Support local and give this place a try!

Award-winning dark chocolate made in-house right here in the Triad! I had a great experience with the friendly folks at Brasstown. As a Yelp Elite, I was entitled to 1 free bar, but had trouble picking one. So I ended up taking advantage of the 3 for $15. Usually, they're $7 a bar, so walking away with 4 was a real treat. I learned that they specialize in dark chocolate and make it all in-house right there! Additionally, they're big on supporting local, carrying products from other local businesses within their shop. I love that! So far, I've tried the peach + mango chocolate bar and was incredibly surprised by how tasty this fruit-infused dark chocolate bar tasted. I expected an obnoxious artificially infused taste of straight mango+peach, but was instead met with the delicious quality taste of what I expect will be award-winning dark chocolate with an infused hint of that fruity mango/peach taste. Very different from what I've experienced. Additionally, they offer chocolate-making classes and offered me a little wheel chart to help guide my tasting experience. I've never enjoyed chocolate like this before and walked away feeling like a chocolate connoisseur. If you're into dark chocolate, you'll have to check this place out!

Wanted a local chocolatier for some Valentine candy. Didn't want some chain store mass produced stuff. Found this business on Yelp and after reading the reviews decided to give it a look. Glad I did, it was marvelous. There were a nice variety of flavors to choose from making up a box of bonbons. Some places I've been have multiple cases which just confuse you making selections. Their selection was just right. I opted for the 8 piece. It was a big hit. They have a small box of 4 for an occasional treat too. They also offer classes making chocolates. Highly recommend this place.

Wonderful little chocolate shop in Winston. You walk in and you can smellllllllll the chocolate. I was just planning on getting a 4 pack sampler but once I saw all of the different flavors I couldn't help but to bump it up to the 8 pack. The chocolates were so flavorful and you could taste every bit of what the flavor was called.

Oh good gravy this is the best chocolate I have EVER had. One word. AUTHENTIC. I just have to say that the owner was so sociable and loves to spark up a conversation with you. I talked with him for a while and he was super friendly and had a lot of knowledge about the chocolate and had some insight on what his favorites were! They have a variety of different kinds of dessert to choose from. There was a nice display of bon bons that caught my eye. After rattling off a few that I would like to purchase, the owner started packing them up for me in a nice to-go box. I got 4 different kinds of bon bons and a chocolate bar. It was tempting to see that they had coffee, but I'll get that the next time! Who doesn't like some chocolate with their coffee?! The owner was more than willing to go out of his way to get you anything you needed, which was so appreciated. I could tell everything was made with love and it definitely tasted authentic. When I opened up the chocolate bar packaging, I was shocked to see a detailed description with a cool map graphic on it! I'm definitely taking all of my chocolate loving friends to this place so they can have the same experience I did! This is why I LOVE supporting local places and ditch the chains. You get to meet the face behind the product and establish a personal connection with the place as well!

I stopped in this evening and the lady was so nice and informative. Their setup was clean and everything had its place. There was a good variety of bonbons to choose from. I chose the amaretto and the butter rum. They were so soft and creamy, not to mention delicious. Definitely will be back!

I passed on the food (it seemed overpriced), but the coffee left no room for complaint. I went with a marshmallow iced latte. Winston-Salem has no shortage of places to grab a drink of the caffeinated or alcoholic varieties, but it's hard to beat the atmosphere that The Remedy has to offer.

We ordered a slice of quiche and a Danish to share. We asked for the quiche to have to have there, and the Danish to go, so asked to have it heated. They said they couldn't heat any food, but pointed us in to the microwave in the dining area which was a bit odd to me. Otherwise, the food was tasty.
