    The traffic!

Candy Cane Lane in Poway is another community that loves to celebrate Christmas! There are tons of houses decorated here with only one common theme. You can definitely tell your at Candy cane lane with plenty of homes lined with candy cane lights! This is my second favorite community of lights that I like to visit. We decided to drive through this neighborhood. There is only one way in and out so there is a long wait to get into the neighborhood. It's also a good thing to because mainly everyone is going in one direction like a connected train. I do think that enjoying the lights are better while walking, but I wanted to stay warm this time. Maybe next year we'll walk it instead. Either way you want to enjoy the lights, it's a wonderful sight to see!

This was a magic wonderful and the perfect activity for the holidays. My recommendation would be to drive close enough and walk around if you're able. One of the houses gave out complimentary hot coco, however, we were prepared and had brought our own. Definitely a new Christmas tradition!

Great light displays! Thank you to the neighbors who put this on. We went on a Friday night and it was pretty crowded. Took about an hour to drive through both cul de sacs. I'd suggest going on a non weekend night, and/or parking outside and walking in. More to see, cute photo ops and hot cocoa vendors! There were also a couple of homes that had individuals playing live music! A fun place to see lights if you've never been.

Wow... this Candy Cane Lane for Christmas is amazing, beautiful, and will definitely get you into the holiday spirit! Huge thanks to this Poway community for their effort in putting up all the lights and decorations! It was our first time checking this place out. This place was easy to find! It was well worth the 20-30 minute drive from home. I'd probably drive double the distance to check out a place like this. You can tell that they all put a good amount of effort to set up their lights and decorations for everyone to enjoy. From the reviews I have read, this place get get busy and congested with traffic. It is better to carpool, if possible, to reduce the congestion. For our family, we drove up during non peak hours, so traffic was minimal. We enjoyed the decorations at each of the homes. We were able to park and get out at different houses to take pictures. It was a great experience... we will definitely check it out again! 5 / 5: Decorations 5 / 5: Lights 5 / 5: Atmosphere 5 / 5: Overall

This is a big part of the magic of my childhood. This place has about 30 houses that go all out with lights and decorations. People do start taking their decorations down soon after Christmas, so make sure to visit on or within 7 days of Christmas! Be aware, the traffic here gets CRAZY packed, very slow, and will take at least an hour or more to get through to see the first house. But there will also be no nearby parking. You will have to walk very far (more than a mile or two) if you park and walk to see the houses. If you want to avoid most of the traffic, come when it is still light out and wait for dark. Overall, it gets crazy here but is 100% worth the magic. You will feel like a kid in wonder and joy.

Have been here a couple times... it was quite packed which could have easily been the traffic leaving Christmas in The Park in Poway as well. Every one probably has the same idea. 2 places in one night. Driving was very hectic and very close with cars and turning and trying to get into places and then people walking up and down the streets and crossing... very hard to enjoy if you are the driver. There was a lot of cool houses this year but didn't see any street/house vendors that we normally enjoy while strolling through looking at Christmas lights. It is still a great place to take small or big, young and old to see the variety of lights. Would recommend this over other places in San Diego as a go-to for amount of participation.

I proceeded to tell her about my last purchase of the mini jaw breakers, which are supposed to have a somewhat chewy texture. I explained to her that the last time I bought them there, they were stale and before I could finish, she cut me off and was like "I can't give you samples!" So then I continued to question her, "so if I buy these candies and they are stale again, what happens?" And she responded very rudely, "I can't do anything about that," while the whole time she was giving me a dirty look and acting like I was making some crazy request. So even though I spent more than $40 for a big bag of candy and had to throw away literally half of the bag away (so throwing away $20), you mean to tell me you will allow me to make another blind purchase and I will just have to accept that they are stale?! No freaking way! You lost my business! Sweet Factory, you need to work on your employees' customer service. The lady was very rude and I didn't take the time to take her name because I was so disgusted with how she looked at me and dismissed me right away. She definitely could've handled that much more professionally and with a little more compassion for the customer. Sweet Factory, if you don't train up your staff to be more courteous, I'm sure you will lose more business! I will not be returning!

The cashier was very nice, offered assistants and was very welcoming. The prices are a bit steep, a regular mixed bag of candy is $13.96/Ib and if you want a mix of sugar free candy it's $15.56/lb. They also offer 50% off regular price pounds for holiday sweets. So if I'm craving sweets and am in the area, I make sure to buy the candy's I can rarely find anywhere else in regular stores or little candy toppers for when I make cupcakes! Also can't resist those chocolate covered gummy bears and sour anything, sooo goooood!

My husband like the gummy candies, and the one we picked out were very flavorful. I wish there were samples so that you're able to try them, but they do sell sample packets (4 for $10). Each sample packet some with about 10 pieces of small candies. My daughter chose the sea salt caramels and when I tried them they were delicious. The chocolate was not too overbearing and had a small hint of sea salt. The caramel was the right amount of stickiness and didn't stick too much to your teeth. Packaging is beautiful and a nice gift for those who appreciate sweets!

Cuisenery didn't have Bordier butter but when I was doing my online research, I found that both of the brands I mentioned are pretty good. I actually liked my Beurre d'Isigny butter better, but that's more likely due to it being unsalted versus the salted version I bought in Paris (apparently, you MUST use salted on your bread per the Parisians).
