From fresh made fudge to a wide selection of childhood favorites to exquisite imports, there's something here for every sweet tooth out there. Let's not forget hospitality. The welcoming proprietor of this family run business will greet you in the warmest of ways. He will make it his goal to make your trip into the store more than just a business transaction. He will treat you right and make you feel like an extension of the family. The selection of sweets is large but the fudge is the most outstanding. This heavenly confection has incredible flavor and it melts in your mouth in the smoothest of delectable ways. The peanut butter chocolate fudge is a must try! In genuinely keeping with that hometown honesty, The Candy Shop offers free samples of fudge to school children when they are on their way home from school. There is a modern twist to this generosity; nearly each morsel dolled out comes with a positive message. Maybe it's a reminder to do ones homework, to study hard, or even to exercise manners. It was heartwarming to see each child greeted with their own reminder for the day. Granted it's just a tiny sliver of fudge but it IS heavenly fudge, so it must count double or triple. When my self control is weak, I head on over to The Candy Shop. It doesn't get any better 'round here!

Last weekend however, we finally had the honor of meeting Jordan herself and her amazing husband. My boyfriend was literally the kid in the candy store, just going off on how he loves the fact that this candy store is the first one in Texas (he is a transplant) that carried a wide variety of his favorite European chocolates. The owners shared their expedition on getting ahold of the foreign candy as I salivated over their sour gummies, mango with chile gummies, and their truffles. It's safe to say that the owners either think my boyfriend was very eccentrically excited over the candy or.... he probably had too much candy before we arrived there and needed to feed his non-existent addiction to sugar.

We bought a ring pop in the shape of a teddy bear walked right outside the store and opened it to realize that it was all melted and not even on the ring anymore. We asked to exchange it and the man in there would not allow it. Not fun dealing with a crying 5 year old trying to explain why someone won't let us exchange it.
