Great hotel! Clean, awesome location, amenities, and customer service. This hotel is very accommodating. I've stayed here multiple times in the past. The front desk associates do their best to help get you into a room that meets your preferences. The rooms are well kept. For my past 6 stays that averaged a week at a time, I never encountered maintenance issues. Every suite is cleaned very well (I check the AC unit, fridge, dishwasher, and bed thoroughly). Despite this hotel being pet friendly, I haven't noticed my allergies act up - testament to their professional housekeeping. Amenities that I've used: laundry (he washer and dryer), gym (relatively small but has the basic cardio machines), meeting room, and on Wednesdays the hotel caters in for their guests. There are multiple restaurants within walking distance: IHOP, Outback Steakhouse, Redlobster, Applebees, Cancún Mexican Restaurant, Char House, Smokey Bones, and Hooters. Also, an Anytime Fitness gym is about 1/3 mile away. I would recommend this hotel to others. read more

It's a nice place , it just has a smell. Beautiful rooms and spacious , the closest is really big. I'm here for work and it definitely is a vibe. You can always put wall plug in air fresheners to mast the smell. The front desk is friendly, accommodating and always willing to help. I think bc you're allowed to cook in the room that's what it is.... No the less it's a great place , no pool but they do have a workout room and a store room where you can buy treats and the coffee is free and hot 24/7! read more

Booked this hotel with a king bed for 12/4/20. When we arrived, Chris, a friendly gentleman at the front desk, informed us we would be in a quiet location - gym next door, but closed at 10. We were tired so we went right to the room - by the elevator. In our preferences, we ask to be away from the elevator, but we were too tired to complain. In the room we were surprised to see a queen size bed. We are not big people, but we are restless sleepers and need space to get a good night's sleep. I went back out to question Chris, who was still on duty. He told me that in his system, it said KING. This is the third time we have requested a king bed at a Candlewood Suite and gotten a queen. The king size beds at Holiday Inn Exoress 12/3 and at the Hampton on 12/5 were king size! We were also dismayed by the folks who congregated at the elevator. Thankfully they dispersed by bedtime, and we did not have to listen to their loud voices. We would have said something if they had continued talking for a long period of time (only about 20 minutes). The room was clean, and while we were awake, it was nice. Unfortunately, we did not sleep well in the queen. read more

Main hotel entry motion sensor glass door didn't open, had to pull it open myself upon checkin at 4pm. Initialed hotel document saying I wouldn't smoke in room, but room smelled like smoke. Decided to start using stairs. Upon re-entry, outside door would not open even after accepting key card. Clerk was nice and apologized on behalf of hotel. Nice staff. Fridge and Microwave works great. Room appears clean. Paper cups in room were not wrapped in any sort of plastic. Hope they were clean and not touch by everyone. Too exhausted to not use. Hallway on second floor needed a vacuum. Television doesn't seem to offer any movie channels, just 43 basic channels. Room has USB plug-in for phone charges etc. King Room offers nifty little table with cup holder for working at the reclining chair. Pretty neat. Nifty multi coat rack attached to room wall. read more

We had an over-sized chair crammed up against one side of the bed. We had to push it to another part of the room,in order for one of us to get out of bed. The lady at the front desk claimed the owners at IFG wanted it shoved along side the bed. The room fridge wasn't working right and was overly noisy. Early in the morning, housekeeping banged on the door several times even though we had paid for the room until noon. We think this was a tactic to get us up and out earlier than our check-out time. The hotel manager, Justin, blamed a housekeeping error. However, we read reviews by other guests saying the same thing happened to them. We didn't appreciate the pressure to get out before our rental time was up. We did file a complaint with IFG's customer service line. We will not be staying there again. read more

One of my worst hotel experiences. Room was fine until I went into the bathroom and found a whole bunch of bugs. Also, the third floor I stayed on (no smoking) had a strong odor of weed. I stayed here based on the Yelp reviews and was extremely dissapoinyed by how the staff handled the situation - they did not even apologize for the situation. I ended up switching hotels at 11pm to the Hilton down the road where THEY apologized for the other hotel and offered me free breakfast - worth the extra money paid. read more

Stayed 2 nights here when I was in town for my friend's wedding and had a smooth experience. Check-in process was smooth and I was off to my room within minutes. The room was clean and up to Candlewood's standards which if you've never stayed at one is a studio room w/ a queen bed and kitchen area and full fridge. The AC was nice and cold and the bed was very comfortable. If you need any snacks, drinks, or toiletries be sure to visit the pantry shop in the lobby by the front desk. You can either pay cash or do a room charge for any items purchased, and there is also a business/computer center next to it although I didn't use it. When checking out I realized there was a billing discrepancy since the rate did not match the confirmation I had. They realized it was an error that was made when I was checked in and worked to fix it for me. I would consider staying here again if I was in the Springfield area in the future. read more

Just an awesome Hotel with great Management and Front Desk Staff. The Rooms are very clean and easy access to restaurants in the general area. What a mess! When arriving at Candlewood Suites, we learned that they had been overbooked and there was nowhere for us to stay. The girl at the front desk said that a party of 31 had stayed over an extra day... What hotel allows that to happen, knowing that new people were coming in and there was no availability, and what random group of 31 people suddenly decides to stay over in it town on their itinerary? So within minutes of us arriving, we know that we are already being lied to by staff. The hotel had intentionally overbooked hoping to sell rooms at their 'sister hotel" (their description) across the street. This was Extremely disappointing, especially since half our party had checked in the day before and we were now looking at the unfortunate reality of being booked in separate hotels for the 4 days we were scheduled to be in Springfield. Since it was 11:00 at night, we initially fell for their scheme and agreed to consider a "comprable" suite at their other Hotel. Unfortunately, after checking in and opening the door to our new room, we learned that instead of the two queen bed Suite that we had reserved originally, we had been given a single king bed. Because we were traveling with our children, this would have meant that half of our family would have had to sleep on the floor. Needless to say, we went elsewhere. 3 days later, my credit card was still showing a charge for the room, and after multiple calls to try to get this resolved, the hotel refused to refund our money because they had offered us a separate room that they still insisted was comprable, so I finally ended up filing a dispute with my credit card company. The funny thing is, the family that we were traveling with did end up staying at the hotel for the week, and personally witnessed this exact same thing happening to multiple other families throughout the week. Apparently, this is a trend, so traveler beware! read more

This place is a gold mine, trust me....I stay in hotels almost everynight. If your looking for something new, clean, spacious and quiet I would look no further. The room rates are low, the gym is really nice, comparetively speaking, and the laundry facilites have new machines that are free! Not the normal coin operated dinosaurs you usually find. I am so happy with this place that I don't want to leave. Only downside is housekeeing is once a week. Pretty normal for an extended stay though. read more

I've stayed over 75 nights in Springfield this year, and every one has been at the Candlewood Suites. This evening reinforced my loyalty to this establishment. Allow me to explain: Every wednesday, the hotel offers free food and drinks to its guests, but it isn't necessarily the healthiest or tastiest food so I called on my way from work to ask what was on the menu. Billy told me it was fried chicken, and I thanked him and hung up. I get back to the hotel and head over to get some food and I see Billy walking in my direction with a plate of food in his hands. Turns out that he saw that the food was running out, so he set aside a plate for me. This kind of attention and service keep me coming back, and it's why I tell everyone who asks to stay at the Candlewood suites when in Springfield. read more

I'm not usually the type to write negative comments but this experience was one I'd like to forget. To give them the benefit of the doubt, they did say they were short staffed which can be understandable, but to be told if you want clean towels you need to come down With all your dirty one was a bit of a stretch in the customer service industry. The suite its self had great accommodations and we were down there for a wedding so it was the hotel the bride and groom choose. The biggest negatives and the main reason for this review was the cleanliness of the place. It seemed clean when we got there but as we were getting ready I dropped my ring on the floor and it rolled under the bed, I used my light on my phone to try and find it and I was horrified to see what was under there. Most hotels I've stayed at box out the beds for cleanliness but this was a traditional open underside. There was tons of junk and candy piece but the nasties item under there was a rotten apple. Understand that it wasn't some apple that we drop the day before it was a rotted apple, it take a while for an apple to rot like that. We would have called down to change room but we here run late by that time to get to the wedding, let alone it took a while to just get a hold of the front desk. Now I can maybe understand things under the bed but the next day we found a large toe nail clipping next to the reclining chair. It really was a nightmare stay. We did talk to the front desk about it and they did comp our stay as well as give us a free night back at that same location (we drove in from Chicago) but it can say I would want to return. I do hope this won't happen to the next customer and I hope they will improve their cleanliness. read more

What a great place. Front desk people, both evening and day shift, were extremely friendly and helpful. Room was clean, large, with full size fridge, microwave with popcorn and a bowl to put it in. Poster on cork corkboard said come down and borrow a blender or a board came, extra utencils ect. Hugh full size shampoo, conditioner, shower gel in the tub area, not small bottles. Would stay every time we come to area. And rate was very reasonable. read more

Love this place! Have stayed well over the 30 mark here. The manager Chris and his staff really go out of their way to make you feel at home. Rooms are nice size, the one bedroom is the best. The little store, free dvd's, washer dryer, nice small gym and great price. Also free wifi and small biz center with printer. Parking can be tricky and wish they had a pool but the service really is great. read more

Called around to Springfield hotels while planning a trip and spoke with Sean. He talked me into staying here because of his tremendous friendliness and helpfulness..that sold me. Well, when we arrived a month later, we were impressed! Front Desk evening clerk, not sure of name, was VERY nice and accommodating. VERY comfy beds...best I've ever slept on! Clean, FREE laundry (a nice perk due to spilled drink in car), quiet, 2 TVs in room...ALL rooms have refrigerators...we REALLY enjoyed staying here. Breakfast could have been much better, but that was the only negative...all else positive! Will return again. Thanks for your friendliness and professionalism! read more
