*Special shoutout to Linda B because she was great! Always super friendly, remembered guests' names, and was super helpful!*
This is actually the worst Candlewood Suites I have ever been to. Overall, the place wasn't necessarily amazingly maintained. The housekeeping staff was probably the laziest I have ever seen at any hotel (chain or otherwise). I get that they switched to housekeeping the rooms only once per week (whether based on COVID or otherwise) because it's an extended stay. However, when they do come in for the week, they do the BARE minimum (change linens and maybe wipe down the bathroom and counters). They basically don't do anything other than that unless you are standing in the room watching them, in which case they might get out the vacuum and half-vacuum the room (only the portion of carpet closest to the door, no further). The laundry room was alright (because Candlewood always has free laundry, which is great). However, the machines were disgusting (especially the washing machines - never cleaned). The gym was alright, a basic hotel gym, they tried to make sure it was stocked with clean towels and Clorox wipes to wipe down machines. So far as I know, everything worked, so that wasn't an issue, although it was usually very warm in there due to lack of circulation and dryers running right next to the area in the same room. There also wasn't really a designated pet area, so there was dog poop all over the grassy areas surrounding the hotel because people just let their dogs use the restroom anywhere and don't clean it up, and neither does the hotel staff (maintenance, etc.).
Overall, I probably wouldn't stay here again (and I stayed for several months), and the only reason I even gave it two stars instead of one is because Linda really did make my experience much better. read more
