    Scented jar candles
    David H.

Even if you aren't into candles, this place is a must visit when strolling through Woodstock, NY. As I remarked to the owner, "This place is the best candle store in the WORLD", (after he laughed and thanked me), he informed me that the store started back in 1913. Candlestock has so much, listing it here woukd not do it justice. Enjoy the pictures.

A very cute and varied candle gift shop that has soy candles, interesting shaped candles, and candle making classes. I was impressed by the number of different candles available in different forms, shapes and sizes. Looking for a candle in the shape of a cat, eggplant, mushroom or cereal? You'll find that and more here. No deals will be had but if you're looking for a unique gift and are willing to spend a little, you'll likely find something to your liking.

A visit to Candlestock on Tinker St in Woodstock, NY is mandatory if you love candles. This is one of the best shops to come to when you're in town to buy for your home or gifting. You can snag a candle jar from one of the several shops nearby, but if it's soy candle or beeswax selection you're looking for, Candlestock, is the name of the game. And there are literally dozens of scents to choose from. From pillar candles I've purchased for my home to several gift candles for work and family, Candlestock's service has always been fantastic in their fuzzy-warm setting. Prices range from as low as $10ish to upwards. I love creating an ambience at home with candles- but if it's gifting you also want, these folks will box your item and decorate it to the nines.

Burning since Woodstock. Well not anymore.

If you love candles, you'll love Candlestock. This is one of my favorite shops in Woodstock, and I always make sure to swing by if I'm in the area. The main event is the giant candle in the center of the store - a HUGE mountain of wax drippings that has been growing for at least but likely far longer than a decade. Candlestock doesn't specialize in scented candles, but rather neutral candles in a variety of waxes, colors, and sizes - thousands of options in hundreds of shapes. On my most recent trip this past weekend, I found a candle that had almost a geode pastel pattern that I fell in love with. In the past I purchased beeswax candles, and some "bloody" Halloween candles that I'll never burn because they're just too cool. If you make it all the way to Woodstock, make sure to step into this candle boutique gem!

Greatest candle store I've ever been in...ok, the list of candle stores I've actually been in is very short, but this place is awesome. No, it isn't full of aroma candles like Yankee Candle, but their drip candles are plentiful and there are tons of other candles. Some of the coolest sculpted candles here too. The star of the place is the drop candle that's been being built since 1969... No, I'm not turning into a hippie that's going to hang out in Woodstock, but when I AM up there I'm definitely getting more candles from here.

I saw a few things in the window that interested me and then I saw a sign that said 'all dogs who don't eat wax are welcome'. I just thought it was cute/funny so I decided to check it out. They have a lot of nice stuff for a moderate price. They even have a candle drip mountain in the store that was really cool to look at!

    Thank you gift

This place is seriously the coolest and best candle store east of the Mississippi (cause I've got a place in Sedona, AZ that I love).

We own a few large Persian-style rugs and runners from Bed Bath & Beyond- and were in the market…read morefor jazzing up a small area in our house with a genuine Persian rug- this time. I can't believe I've walked by this shop a million times without going in. Chatted with the store owner who filled us in his travels to Turkey to bring the most interesting Tribal Rugs to the heart of Woodstock. He even went into detail about the weave and the type wool it takes to create a tasteful rug. Ok...Good information. You'll notice Anatolia by all the decorative pillows and small area rugs outside his shop. Inside is small, but loaded- he's been in business for a long time, so we didn't second-guess his expertise. We were also looking for a non-slip pad to go with our rug to place it underneath- but was out of those. He was kind enough to provide us with a binder full of non-slip samples to choose from and if we liked, we can jot down the (800) number to order ourselves. My small Persian rug and the decorative pillow we purchased, are excellent quality and didn't hurt our pockets. I wanted to shop til I dropped and replace some of our imitation Persian rugs with the real deal- but that's not gonna happen just yet.

Just a plain terrific place for carpets. What a pleasant surprise…read more We walked in randomly having ended up with an extra hour in Woodstock and walked out with a beautiful 6x9. As others have said, Scott is amazing. Very helpful, knowledgeable, relaxed, patient, and has been amazingly easy to deal with pre and post-sale. We aren't carpet specialists by any means but, being a bit OCD, needing a carpet and living a couple blocks from ABC, have done a decent amount of research online and on each floor of ABC to understand how rugs are made, what goes into the cost, and what was important to us. Ultimately ABC was just too expensive. At Anatolia, we were surprised to spot a rug that was beautiful, hand-knotted, and had the little details (subtle color variations from vegetable dyes made in small batches) that we loved at a much much more affordable price. Scott even made it easy to try it at home to make sure it worked for us. They also had some great antique rugs, but we had already decided that a new one was a better fit for our situation. Overall, a really a surprising and terrific experience. We'll certainly be back and will be recommending them to everyone.
