Namely, restaurants, bars, and adorable shops like this, which is how we spent a lot of our leisure time back in the before times. Light House had hand sanitizer by the door and masks on all the employees, but other than those much appreciated concessions to COVID, it felt like a wonderfully normal shopping experience. This place is stocked with all kinds of high-quality home goods. They've got pottery, candles, appliances, textiles, wrapping paper, adorable baby clothes, toys, stuffed animals, cards, cookware, and a million other items my wife wants to buy (even though we probably only need a dozen of them). Her favorite things they have? Hand soap, laundry detergent, and dish soap in giant jugs so you can bring your own refillable containers and purchase by the ounce without destroying our environment. (We both hug trees on a regular basis.) My favorite things they have? A really interesting selection of books, and a comfortable couch I can sit and read on as my wife looks at everything else. This is a great little shop. Check it out.

There's a hodgepodge of home goods in here. Think kitchen items (food and food oriented, like recipe books), children's clothing/toys, bathrooms items (soap and shit) and other household odds and ends. Fellas: it smells really good and your wife/girlfriend will like it. My only gripe is that it can be irrationally expensive. I bought a kids stuffed animal for my son awhile ago which was around $40. It was hand sewn, however even so that's a bit steep. Think this as a place where you'll pay a bit more for quality goods and this won't bother you as much.

I spent over $1,000.00 on pots and pans in the past couple of years to build a collection (that is…read morenot completed). This soup pot cost $250.00. The rim was defective so I brought it back to the store. The owner, an older Indian man told me they no longer carry that line because there was a total recall for that product so he had to send it all back. He also advised me that I should not use my pots and pans because of the recall. So I asked him where does that leave me. He told me that there was nothing he could do for me and I was out of luck. I asked him if he can resend all of my pots and pans back that I purchased from him and maybe he could get my money back too. He told me no. He then became Extremely dismissive towards me and would not continue to speak with with me to try and resolve my issue of being out over $1000. The older Indian man (the owner) walked away from me and dismissed me. I then asked to speak to the manager, and the manager, gave me back to the owner. It wasn't until I became loud and demanded a contact person for the company of my pots and pans. (Swiss Diamond Cookware). The owner gave me an old brochure with the number on it. I contacted customer service told them my problem and they did not hesitate to send me a new pot. Swiss diamond cookware customer service also told me that they have sales going on the year round as well as coupon year round and I could buy directly from their company with free shipment. Customer service also told me that there is not a recall on their products that cooks nook just does not carry their products any longer. I can guarantee you the way I was treated and misled. I will never give that company. Cooks nook another penny of my money.

Cook's Nook is clean, well-lit, and well-organized, and it has a broad selection of quality cooking tools scaled for HOME COOKING and even the odd specialty implements you would never find at a big box retailer. I don't know if they are locally owned, but the staff was helpful and friendly. If you love to cook, this place is Mecca.

Not very friendly or approachable, but I saw some cute cocktail glassware and decided to make a purchase. Sadly, that evening, the paper bag with the glasses wrapped in tissue paper, lightly tipped over on the dinner table and one of the glasses shattered. I thought it would be worth a try to go back and see if they could accommodate with a solution as the glasses had not even been unwrapped yet. I went back, and the same man was there. He was extremely hostile when I asked if he could help me out in any way. When I mentioned that the glasses were only wrapped in tissue paper, he became very defensive and suggested that I was blaming him for the accident. "It's my fault," he yelled. He very childishly huffed and puffed through the store as he grabbed me a new glass and some bubble wrap. As he handed back the bag, he very rudely said, "don't blame me if you're not careful and it breaks again." Although I don't think it was his fault, I don't imagine the glass would have broken if it had been well wrapped the first time around. To have a grown man yell at me, a young women in my 20s, felt extremely scary, disrespectful, and and sad that this is a world where men think they can speak to women so harshly. Don't recommend visiting if you are looking for a pleasant customer experience.
